What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread) - Page 526

43-44-87. No birdies, 4 double bogeys. 70.3/133/6050 yards.

Even though my score didn't really reflect it, today was somewhat better. 7 of 12 drivers were good (the other 5 of course were dreadful). Not every other shot was perfect but most were good and few were notably bad. Also seeing some improvement in the short game, hopefully that continues.

Was looking at 1 of my higher scores today coming off the front being +7, Got my head down to try and save a score and it worked with a level par back.

Started on #10 (monthly breakfast club). My front side score was three doubles, all the rest pars. In the dice roll that is "what will give me trouble today, mid-irons won out; it was windy and wet, and had a hell of a time making good contact.

I played with our new pro, and it was something else. In my years as a member of several different courses, I've never had a "pro" who was actually a really, really good player, and this guy is. Absolutely bombs his drives, deadly accurate irons. I just stopped saying, "nice shot" after a while.

Felt I had a really good score in me.
Hitting my irons (7i and in) really well.
Biggest issue today was wedge distances. Haven't dialed in my new wedges yet and flew some greens with my 56 and 60.

Despite the mediocre score relatively pleased. No popped up drivers, a couple were even quite good. Mostly just putted poorly. Not much luck converting decent chips.

-1 through five, then went double double. One double on the back.

Took a lesson for my driver and it added 10-15 per drive. Potential big game changer. My attack angle was neutral or negative, and we got me hitting up through it. So simple. No joke, my issues poor club selection and management from places I’ve never been before.

How early are you going out each day? Is the weather pretty miserable this time of year or not that bad yet?

Nope! If I were to guess I would say I have shot 70 around 10 times over the last 2 1/2 years.

Tuesdays and Thursdays we are first off at 7:30a. Even then it was miserable by the end of the round today. Weekends I tee off around 8:30a.

Played at 7am really hot here in the south of the UK. I was hitting my drives out of the centre and they were going pretty far for me, Think I got 1 out there to about 260-270ish.

On another hole I think it's plays like 420 so it's a long par 4 for me usually I end up on the front or just before the green in 2, Today I put it over the back.

Shot a +2 through 9 holes. 2 bogeys rest pars. 2 silly bogeys from the positions I was in and if I could putt I could of got a birdie or 2.

Roll up tonight

-2 through 9 holes getting me 25 points, Believe it or not I come 2nd on countback

Was a lot of people in the 20-23 range points wise tonight.
The good thing is I chipped on 4 to take the rolling 2's which was a nice pot to take.

Everything was just on tonight.

The guy who come 1st played in my group as well and he played so well. Almost had a eagle on 8 hitting the flag the 3rd guy in our group also got 23 points. Was actually so nice to play in a group where all of us were playing so well.

No birdies; hit 10 greens. Missed 8 fairways but kept everything in play so no penalties etc. putted awful with 38 putts and only one 1-putt

Need to figure out the driver and putting bc I’m hitting it so good with irons and wedges.

It was nice to be back for a day. Would be better if it sticks around.

A fun random highlight - shortsided myself in a greenside bunker, blasted out way too hard ... but directly at the pin. It caught the flag, the flag smothered the ball and it dropped straight down a couple inches from the cup. Luck >>>> skill.

41 points in the stableford comp so not super bad.

Good on the front - missed a couple short birdie putts too. Highlight was holing a 65 yard wedge after messing up my tee shot on a par 3. Back nine wasn't as sharp.
