Of course to no one's surprise, my swing was broken for most of today, LOL.
Birdie 1, then stripe tee shot on 2. Very meh wedge, then short game disaster for double. OK whatever. Fine shot on par 3 third, hit a step next to the green then rolled literally 50 yards down the cart path, make double. OK. Then just have an error on every hole. Nothing below double bogey on the front after the bird, out in 54. GROSS.
Bogey 10 missing a 5 foot slider for par. Triple 11 in annoying fashion, then a double bogey after shank iron on 12. Need to finish the last 6 in +3 or better to break 100 ffs. Luckily I figured out what I was borking, and did it!
Go birdie-par-3putt bogey (had a super downhill 30 footer on slow greens and missed the speed) - bogey - double - par to close. The double was a long par 3 where I hit 5w pin high but about 20 yards left and woofed my first pitch then missed a 6 foot bogey. 54-45--99. But came away feeling solid about knowing what I need to do.
Also had some short game woes, have been adjusting my technique, and wasn't committing to it after the disaster on 2. Nothing worse on chips or pitches than lack of confidence. I'm using my core to turn through, using the pivot to control distance. When I actually DO it, it comes off great. When I'm scared, I stop turning at the ball and then it's only arms and chunks or skulls ensue.
