Nice, it you can shoot 43 for 9 you're on your way to shooting in the 80s regularly. Just a matter of avoiding the blowups like that snowman on 18. Nice round!

Yep, I was obsessed after picking up the game in my early 20s... fast forward to 5-6 years later I started having kids and all my extra time and money started dissolving.... all of the sudden I'm only playing 4-5 times a year max. Then, this year a few life changes happened(aka son all of the sudden took an interest in golf and I also and got a new job that was more "golf friendly) and all of the sudden I'm playing 6-8 times a month during nice golf weather(which in OK is basically MAR-OCT) Now I can't remember why I ever stopped playing! Loving it! Glad you are too!

Thanks! It's certainly reflective of my best potential. I think my second best 9 hole score this year is 46, but I'm typically just aiming to break 50 for 9 holes.

Thanks! Yea that snowman was bad. Hit my drive into some trees, thought to myself "you've been playing well today, go ahead and hit a punch cut through these trees to save par"... next thing you know I'm finally on the green laying 6.. stupid, stupid stupid.

Been a week since I last hit a shot. Played pretty good, Thought I'd have a bit of rust. Only shots I really struggled with is when I had to take loft around a green, Don't think I hit a good shot with my 60 or 54.

3 Birdies - 7 Pars - 6 Bogeys - 2 Doubles

2 doubles came back to back on par 3's

Shot of the day was on another Par 3 about 170ish uphill anything short is going to get swallowed up into a small bowl. Hit a 5 hybrid right down the throat of the flag must of been so close to going in as pitch mark was like 7 feet before the flag and ball ended up about 15 feet behind it. Holed the putt for the Birdie as well.

Was funny when were about to start some guys started on the 9th and come back off 18 back to the first tee and thought they had right of way (Not sure if they actually do) but they approached us in some kind of aggressive mood, Basically told them to do one and wait .... Others that were waiting to jumped in before them so they had to wait for them as well.

40-41 = 81

Suffered a major family loss and had not played in two months, so I'll take it, especially since that score includes three doubles. Struck the ball well, putted fine. Greens were literally the slowest I've seen them. I'm usually good for a few 10-20 footers a round, but couldn't get myself to get the ball to the hole. Excruciating to see perfect lines come up just a tad short over and over.

Doubles were mostly mental errors. One hole I hit into the opposite fairway, down a hill. Usually not a tough spot but I had a bad and tough downhill lie to get uphill. Frankly should have taken advantage of winter rules, but didn't. One of the other doubles I hurt the ball, but pulled it and barely caught a tree 40 yards in front of the tee box and came straight down, somehow managing to stay on an extreme slope. Longest par 4 on the course.

Also bogeyed an easy par 5 due to over confidence. I was 100 out in two with my eyes on birdie, since my 120-and-in game was on point. Tried to get tricky to put it right on the hole, but instead hit it slightly fat, which with what I was trying to do ended up 20 yards short.

Mostly upper 70s for scores lately. Went out today and played the tips at 53* and some significant wind. COLD for Florida. Shot 78.

One notable shot for the day I was 130y out and straight back into the wind. Hit a 20 foot high 8 iron just on and made the birdie.

Lol I envy you for being in a place where 53 is considered cold lol.

In the teens here yesterday and today, clubs are packed away until the spring

2 birdies, 1 double

The worst 79 of my life. Lots of up and downs including 3 in a row on 6-8. On 6 I missed the green right. Chip doesn't make it up the shelf on the green and rolls back 15 feet away, make it. Tee shot on 7 goes in water. Hit 3rd to 20 feet and make it. 8th hole I short side the green and chip goes 15 feet past, and make that. Also on 17 I miss the green in a bad spot, chip past to the opposite fringe, then make that for par.

Swing doesn't feel good right now.

I also forgot to add on the 9th hole. Hit tee ball OB, take the alternate drop hitting 4 from 153 and hit 9 iron to 2 feet to save bogey.

Thanks fellas. I actually thought playing might be a good idea shortly after, but realized when I was about 5 minutes away from the course that it uh, wasn't. But I'm ready to get back out there.

Round my local, didn’t have a short game today. After the bad front 9 decided to try a TP5 I found and loved it. Felt a little harder than the Q-Star I play.

Funny but not funny a older women was playing by herself and we asked if she’d like to play through our 4 ball, She said No, As she was walking onto the next tee guy off the previous tee nearly hit’s her. On the same hole we just clear the green and she’s waiting to play her approach guy off the 1st tee nearly hit her as well. She must of felt people were aiming for her

This is about a standard round for me. Struck the ball well, but short game was bad, and I couldn't get out of bunkers to save my life(hence the 8). I generally don't focus on bunker play in practice because it's such a small part of my rounds, but it's taking me 2 or even 3 times to get out.. I think I need to start working on it more.

Last minute round to get out the house whilst we are having some work done to our windows.

It's round a course I'm not a huge fan of. Played a bit longer as you were not getting any roll out. Not really feeling my short game at the moment and putting is dreadful right now.

Not sure how I made double on 5, Hit a half decent tee short just a tad short and chipped it on to strong and went 20 feet by and 3 putt from there

Other than just a standard round. Need to start hitting more club on par 3's.

Oh actually off the tee I was pretty good, Given that I'm pretty short distance wise I use a driver off most tee's + the fact it's actually my best club in the bag imo, I think around this course I used it 13 times and hit the fairway 11 times. When both missed I was a within 5 yards of the fairway. This course has so many tree's lining the fairways so if your hitting it offline your not going to have that good of a shot.

I posted in the other thread regarding my “solution,” so here I’ll just commiserate. Over the past year I’ve been playing some of my best golf in years, but couldn’t hit out of the sand for the life of me (some of that’s documented in this thread). Thing is I wasn’t in the sand very often, and couldn’t get myself to practice for the longest time. I had several rounds where the difference between shooting in the 70s and the 80s was a double or triple bogey when I’d get stuck in the sand.

yeah, gotta find a practice area that has decent sand and put in some work.
by no means whatsoever am i an expert, but i've found sand shots (like most others) require a purposeful swing. you can't hit the brakes on the swing right when you strike the ball and find success.

42 - 39 = 81

Monthly team play, started on 14, the toughest hole on the course, and ended on 13, the second toughest hole on the course (for short hitters like me). Felt like I played worse than my score, so I don't feel too bad about it. Short game was great, which was good, because I missed a lot of greens. Took me 11 holes to get my driver in gear, which put me in some bad spots (usually from a distance perspective). Ball isn't flying very far, and the ground was super wet so zero roll, so hitting it even shorter than usual off the tee was no good, and had me with too many 3 woods into greens. Conditions were far from ideal: rain and wind the whole round.

3 birdies, many doubles, many 3-putts

I and not shitting when I say the greens were rolling at a 13 today. We passed the guy rolling the greens after 5 but they were still fast AF.

Short game finally came out today. 8 up and downs.

2 Birdies - 13 Pars - 1 Bogey - 2 Doubles, 27 putts and no 3 putts

Was 1 over going into 18 but hit tee shot into a bush had to take a unplayable ended up making a double.

Weird thing is it was pretty cold but the ball was going pretty far.

Tale of two sides, obviously. It was COLD teeing off, upper 30s. I had trouble off the tee, combined with horrible iron contact. I figured out driver by the last few on the front, then just became mechanical. Only missed two greens in regulation on the back, my two bogeys (two toughest holes on the course, par 4s which are long enough that getting to both in two a very rare occurrence). Really should have had at least one birdie.

Same place I went to on the 18th shot 81 that time. Was quite surprised when I looked at the scorecard at the start of 16 to find out it's not so bad.

Ball striking wasn't really a thing until I got to the 17th

We should have had a frost delay. Groundskeepers must have been lazy and didn’t check the greens in the opposite side of clubhouse. We got to #5 and there were actually ice chunks.
