Probably my worst round in months. Swing was very stabby. Then when I hit driver on 5 I had a blowout on my glove and probably missed the fairway 120 yards left. After that didn't go great.

Yup - solid round and the more forward tees and an old 1-iron sounds like a nice time!

44-44-88. 2 birdies, 4 double bogeys, 1 triple bogey. 75.4/148/7,213 yards

Said I was going to play the back tees once this year and today was the day, since it was about the only time that the course wasn't packed and I didn't want to hold anyone up. Of course 48 degrees and windy is less than ideal for a short hitter to play the tips but what the hell, it was fun. A couple fewer mental errors and it would have been a good round. If two more birdies had dropped (one caught a stray oak leaf six inches from the cup, one chip hit the pin dead center and didn't drop) it could have been a very good round.

Highlight was going -1 on the par 3s -- hit all four greens, 171 and 178 on the front, both playing dead into the wind, 192 and 220 on the back. Hit 4h, 1i, 1i and driver -- the last was also into the wind to a back pin so it was closer to 240. Had an unfortunate three putt from 20 feet on that one. Doh.

44-44-88 Par 70 (Does play a 71 but 1 hole turned into a Par 3)

Been a few years since I played this course, Last time was in a pro am and we tied 1st but lost on count back. It was actually my favourite course but we've just had a down pour for 2 days and it was a bit boggy in places and the greens were super slow.

Hit my best shot on 18 on had 100 yards in and from where I was at I actually thought it was in, But went like 8 feet past. Obv 2 putt for Par. Didn't whole anything on the greens. Driving was decent, Irons mostly decent did catch a few a bit fat. Pitching/Chipping was below average for me.

43-45-88 Par 69

88 seems to be the golden number recently

Played this course in the middle of summer last time, I had no long game back then and and remember is was so tough to play of the forest fairway being so bare back then I shot 92. We've had a bit of rain recently so you're not getting much roll out, but it felt a lot better in the fairways and around the greens, Greens were pretty fast and pretty hard just seemed to roll out forever but saying that I cannot fault them, Putting on them was a joy even though I didn't really hole anything other than once.

A couple of decent moments to mention. 200 Yard Par 3 into wind I hit a soft driver missed left of the green pin high close to a bush I could have a half swing at it though so wasn't hurting me that much. What was hurting is that I short sighted myself and between me and the flag there was a hump to go over if I wanted to go at the flag. For once I played it sensible and aimed 15 feet right and 9 iron chip on and actually holed the putt for par.


Another shot I was behind a tree on a Par 4 after my tee shot about 70 out, I didn't really have a shot exactly where I was, Couldn't play low cause bunker was in front and couldn't play high because of the tree. So basically hit and hope but duffed it. Now I still had the same problem but now I could actually go high So flopped a lob wedge to about 2 feet. I used to bring these types of shots out all the time but it's actually been a while since I played one of them.

Other than that it was just bogey golf with the odd par here and there well up to the 18th anyway where I hit tee shot OB and then ended up with a 7. Would of walked off with 85 feeling a bit good but I don't know 88 seems a bit meh now.

Overall I really liked the course. Wasn't a huge fan of it in the middle of the summer.

Lackluster golf from me lately. 77 yesterday and that's about as good as it has been. Leaving for Vegas tomorrow and when I return I'm volunteering for the LPGA event. So a total of 10 days off for me. I need it.

39-41-80. No birdies, no doubles or worse.

Score approximate, that's what the card said but I wasn't exactly grinding. Just nice to be out there.

Wasn't ideal that the air temperature literally dropped 10 degrees in the five miles between the highway exit and the course.

46-48-94 Par 71 6132 Yards 69.70/119

Tough course if you have never played it before, A lot of shots where you just play blind a lot of the greens slope back to front and today so many pins were on the front of the green and it was hard to get below them for a up hill putt.

Condition of the course was pretty meh, but it's expected as it's open to the public to walk through. If I was to play again I expect I would take a good chunk of them shots off. It's a very positional course

I was told I shot 86 today. I know I had 2 birdies, several double bogeys and a lovely triple to start the round. Never saw the card and it doesn't matter since posting season is over for the year.

Just a gorgeous day for November, not often is it 60 degrees and sunny.

Usual late season mix of terrific shots and stretches of having no swing. Wedges and sand play sucked badly but I putted well.

posting season is also done around these parts. i need to pretend that posting season is always over when i play.
we play a 'leaf rule' in our neck of the woods this time of year. if the groundskeepers haven't been bothered to remove the fallen leaves from fairways or short rough and you can't find your ball when you hit into it, it's a free drop in the rules of whatever betting game is going on.

100 yesterday. lost about 8 balls and i think one was legit lost. Rest were somewhere under leaves. Cart path only. Super fun. On one hole I actually carried my bag to my ball because I had no idea what kind of situation I was in.

Wtf is wrong with our offense ?

Handicap and form had been on the slide last 6 months or so. Felt like I was still swinging it nicely, but lost a lot of confidence around the greens which is traditionally the strongest part of my game by a long way.

Handicap blew out to like 11.7, meaning I was getting 14 shots from the tips at my home course which is the most I’ve had in a long time.

Continued practicing and persevering - even got a lesson and have been working hard on not shallowing out so quickly. Got to the point where I looked like a worse version of Daniel Berger.

Anyhoo, I’ve been finally seeing a few results and am back down to a 9.0 - all 8 of my counted scores are in my 11 most recent rounds, meaning I have essentially 9 free rounds where I can only lower my HC. So here’s hoping I can get down below my previous low of 8.8!

Oh yeah, I played from the tips at my old home club in a howling Westerly a couple weeks ago and shot a smooth 113! Believe it or not there were some serious golf shots in amongst the chaos! Very next round finished birdie-birdie to tie my PB of 76.

Just got round in this, back 9 Wedges started to get really good. Shame I hit one OB on the 10th shouldn't even be close to OB tbh really a mental error, Silly 3 putt on 5 literally got it to 10 feet and the putted past the hole about 8 feet by and missed the one coming back.

Really happy to get away from my home course and post a decent score.

Best score at this course was a 87,

Today was a pretty average day. Very boggy conditions so course played a little longer. Didn't really get the wedges going at all. Driving was great. Mind the last hole quad Short hole but very tight, You hit off a elevated tee into the fairway and then the green is elevated to. Hit a perfect drive but hit my wedge fat twice then thinned my next one onto the green leaving me a horrible putt this green is really tough,. A lot of break could literally end up where I was chipping from I ended up 4 putting

Ok, final, final round of the season today. 47-44-91.

Epic choke job on 18 (easy hole). I'm up 3 shots. Top drive into hazard. Re-tee. Top again but clear the hazard. Of course the ball plugs. Top next shot. Still over 200 out. Two more shots to get on and two putts....with the 2nd putt being a clutch 4 footer.

Great day but looks like snow this weekend. Pretty sure that's that.

Was able to walk 9 today after 8 days off. 36 with 2 birdies and 2 bogeys. Played the new TP5X ball today for all 9 holes and confirmed that I absolutely hate it. WAY WAY too much spin for me. Off of my 3 wood I would say that I was a clear 20 yards behind my normal drives.

38-41 79; 12 greens, 9/14 fairways, 37 putts

3 birdies; NO DOUBLES OR WORSE (first time all year); swung it great all day; tee game, irons and wedges all solid. 5 3-putts or it could have been a real good one.

Prob last round of the year that isn't "winter" so an awesome day to end the handicap year; perfect weather, great group and played solid

Very nice round. Avoiding the double bogeys (or worse) always key.

Round my local haven't played it in a while and it showed on the greens left everything short. Very good back 9, 8 Pars 1 bogey.

Played 9 late in the afternoon 39 5 over, Had a triple because I hit a tee shot into woods.

Seeing a bit of progress in distance these days and that's a bit weird to say in November even though it's still fairly warm in the South of the UK. Debating to go to a fitting to see if I can squeeze anything more out. My clubs are like 10 years old now. Also can't stop hitting irons left these days as well.

Monthly breakfast club: 39-40 = 79. Five bogeys, a double, rest pars.

Decided to sell my house, DID sell my house, bought another house, and moved, all in the past 40 days, so hadn't played in over a month. I wanted to get out before Wednesday's Team Play to make sure I could at least still swing, and came away pleasantly surprised, ESPECIALLY given the conditions. 15-20 mph winds sustained, 30 mph gusts. Lots of rain the first few holes, but once that went away the wind made it kind of fun. Depending on which direction the hole was going you were either 1.5 clubs up, or 1.5 clubs down. I caught on pretty quickly and was striking the ball well, but putting kept me under 80. Only the second time with my new mallet, but spent some time on pace before the round and it paid off. Pacing still isn't quite there, but the change is worth it for the accuracy improvement alone.

Hit every green in reg, Birdied the 1st, Lack of focus on the 3rd green forgot about the pace of the putt and ended up smashing the putt past to like 8 feet missed the one coming back. It's weird and nice that I didn't have to play 1 chip shot around the green.
