Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

48 44 92 par 68.

Had a chance to use new 23 degree mizuno hybrid on my 2nd shot after hitting my 1st shot about 120 yards. Caught it well. Then from 175 rough to pin high right rough 2 feet off green. Had several more chances but didnt hit it well consistently. Gotta get the feel for the sweet spot.

Few pars no birdies several bogeys yada yada yada and a quadruple on 2.

One par was after laying up because I didnt have a shot at the 12th green. Then 8 iron to 10 feet and made the putt.

Nearly pitched in for birdie on 14 from 20 yards. It hit the pin and stopped right next to the hole.

Otherwise ho hum.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

38-41-79 Par 68

1 Birdie - 9 Pars - 5 Bogeys - 3 Doubles

Best score since I've been back playing.

1st tee shot was a top (didn't warm up) managed to make Par

3rd had to take a drop but later realised I shouldn't had as the small tree was staked.

6th Longest and hardest on the course actually made a GIR on this had 20 feet for birdie yeah ended up 3 putting.

3 putted the 9th as well

Back 9 started pretty well bogey followed by 4 pars then it basically went down hill from there.

Had 2 groups in a comp that were incredible slow and should actually waved the group of kids that were in front of us through. Then the group of kids were just f***ing about on the greens. 15th made bogey 3 putted. 16th basically duffed it short and went into a ditch and had to take a drop made a double. 17th hit left behind a tree ended up making double, 18th made a nice up and down to finish.

Kinda felt bad my playing partner wanted to leave because of the what I thought was because of the slow play but later found out he wanted to leave because of his step son. His step son about a month ago found out he had cancer think he is like 13 or something, I didn't realise till after the round that he was getting text's from the other half that his hair started falling out and was pretty upset. Wish he'd told me obv I would of said lets go.

44-40-84. No birdies, 2 double bogeys.

Kind of a mixed bag, but not bad. Enough good shots to get me back out there tomorrow. The doubles were both on 130ish yard par 3s. WTAF.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

41-41-82. 1 birdie, 2 double bogeys. 69.3/124/6100 yards.

Sometimes I look like I can play. Sometimes I look like I've never seen a golf club before in my life. Usually both in each round and today was not different. Putting was complete ass, chipping wasn't a whole lot better, though I did have a couple good ones.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

37-39-76

2 birdies, no doubles

Started out great. Had 165 and an 8 iron into the 500y par 5 1st to 10 feet. Of course I missed the eagle putt. Started with 8 straight GIRs. Feels good to be playing good again.

35-43-78

Hit 8 iron into #1 again today and 2-putt birdied it. Made par the rest of the way on the front. Turned into bogey golfer guy on the back.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

43-41-84 Par 69

5 Pars - 12 Bogeys - 1 Double (3 off the tee for the double)

Just a lot of Bogeys today, Wasn't kind of with it with such a early tee time and little sleep. A lot 10-15 putts lipped out like 6-7 off the top of my head.

Ended up playing the back 9 with some old guys who were actually very good you can tell they have played for such a long time. 1 of them was trying the Pro V1 Xs and found them to hard so he gave me a few of them which was nice.

Overall decent day for not being with it, If that's a bad/average day I'll take it. Had fun bantering with the old guys, Really nice weather to got a little burnt on the arms though.

Treated myself to some SM8 wedges today, went with a 48/54/60 I did have a 50/54/60 my wedges were so old I think it was time I had MP10 wedges so yeah a long time.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

38-42 80 - 7 fairways, 8 greens 33 putts (only one 3 putt - yay); 2 birdies and 2 doubles. Played really solid. Doubles were an unplayable hitting it over a green under a tree and then a 3 putt after a punch out. birdies were a par-3 pw to 6 feet and a par-5 greenside in 2 and got it up and down.

Tee game was nothing special but didn’t get into trouble either.

41-45-86. 1 birdie, 2 double bogeys.

Swing went AWOL on the back nine. Chipping is definitely improving, missed way too many short putts for par.

finally totaled and posted. the differential ranged between 20 and 26. HC will go up a full point next revision. not sure if i should end it all or bet the house this summer.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

That hot weather got the best of me.

40-43-83 Par 69

10 Pars - 4 Bogeys - 1 Double - 1 Quad

I had 6 one putts - 3 three putts rest 2.

I was actually doing alright nothing to crazy then on the 14th took the wrong club on the small par 3 and went right into the bush, duffed a chip shot ended up making a triple with a drop.

Next hole was a 500 Yard Par 5, Tee shot ended up in the rough next to a small tree so chipped out. Hit a alright wood little left. I had a little 9 iron in from the rough but it just flew the green. knifed a chip back over the green chipped on 3 putt made a quad

So apart from them to blow up holes I would of had a decent score,

Important realization - EXPECTATIONS SUCK

They are just no good, we'd all be better off if we stepped on the first tee with zero expectation one way or another.

Regarding pre-round warm up, the goal is to get the muscles loose, that's it. You aren't concerned with how you are hitting it, that's for practice sessions. The only goal is to get the body loose. When you are on the course your body doesn't care whether or not you striped it on the range.

Results of warming up before the round mean absolutely nothing.

Agree I've actually stopped hitting balls before my round. I just loosen up by swinging some without a ball. I've never found that a range session has helped my round, even when I was striping it. Alternatively I've had awful warm up sessions that have wrecked my confidence before I even get to the first tee. Better off just loosening up, go to the first tee, and play the game.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

41 (par 36). No birdies, 1 double bogey.

Pretty uneventful. Hit one bad shot, a poor tee ball into the wind on a par 3, and backed that up with a three putt. A couple other three putts from long range and one failed up and down.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

40-38-78 (Par 68)

11 Pars - 4 Bogeys - 3 Doubles

Actually surprised I got this score didn't realise I was on a good round until the 17th.

1 of the doubles was 3 from the tee as I hit it OB was shocked it went so far right and 1 of the doubles was from a top tee shot going about 20 yards haven't done that in a while.

Really happy with that round though. 6 pars on the back 9. 50% GIR. 32 putts (14 on the back)

Edit new Wedges feel good love the 48 degree, Get Shotscope tomorrow hopefully but won't be playing until Friday/Weekend

42-38-80

No birdies, no doubles

It's come down to when I don't touch a club for 3 days it takes me 9 to get going again. 7am tee time so no warm up.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

back to back 38s on my home course par 35 for my best score in about 10 years. Doubled 1 and no doubles after. Had 3 birds, 2 4 footers and a 15 footer. I have been doing Adam Young's 8 week course and this was only my second round of the year. All I changed is addressing the ball at the toe since I'm a shanker with a massive heel bias. Never hit irons better.
My score was so low in regards to my handicap it lowered my last 20 rounds by 1.0 as some sort of penalty. "A -1 Exceptional Score Reduction has been applied to this score differential."

That took me to a 13.5, my goal is to get to a 7.9 this year. Weather has been so bad this year though I've barely been able to play.

Re: What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

44-38 = 82.

Monthly team play yesterday. I haven't played since the Memorial Day tournament where I shot an abysmal 95, and hadn't played much before that. I'd like to say I'm happy, but I'm still frustrated that every time I go out I seem to have a different swing, even though everything feels the same (it just flies different). With my swing yesterday I feel like I could have shot mid-70s no problem, but I made too many mental errors, and I suck out of the sand. Even the 44 felt good swing-wise, I just had a hard time factoring in the very heavy winds, resulting in a triple when I way overshot the green, and a couple of bogeys on easy holes that should have been pars given where I was in the fairways. I also reached a par 5 in two (there was a LOT of wind), but three putted after ****ing up the long lag.

Would have had a KP on a very tough par 3, but my "perfect" shot rolled slightly off the green. Had my name on the card for another KP with about 80% of the field through, but it didn't even tee off on the next hole before I got beat by 6" (which held). I missed a tricky 4-footer on the last hole that took me out of the individual net money, but I still got 5th out of 80 runners. I wish I could say I like where things are, but I have no confidence my game will be the same next time I play.
