Played the tips again. Took a different approach on a couple of the holes

The 1st hole is a 525y par 5 that is the most unfair hole ever from the back tees. You MUST hit the ball left to right. You can't even hit a straight ball and stay in the fairway (the rough slopes into the water left). I decided to play the hole backwards, hitting 9 iron off the tee. It allows me to go over the tree that blocks the fairway. Then hit 5 iron on my second shot (could hit up to 3 wood here as it's open). Then a medium iron into the green.

The 5th hole (plays 330y) is similar to the 1st but it allows a straight shot to get to the fairway. You can't hit a ball right to left or you are in the water. I hit 8 iron off of the tee but pushed it and it hit the tree near the water. Got through the tree though and had 9 iron to the green.

I think this is my best approach on these two holes as it minimizes the really big number on these holes. Part of me thinks hitting something longer into the water on #1 would work, however the water is not that wide and there are houses on the other side and then you are OB and re-teeing.

you just go right ahead and take that course management bullshit out of this thread and get back to hitting driver off the tee of every par 4 and par 5 you play.

Couldn’t relax to begin with and spraaaaaayed my opening tee shot sideways, squirted a bladey 4ir from behind a tree and still had 161m to the flag, in the trees on the far side of the second hole (so far out of pos it was hilarious). Hit a gorgeous high fade 5ir and managed to hit the green, burned the edge for birdie and tapped in for par. Would’ve been the most ridiculous birdie of my life.
Made a great up and down on the second also then started to relax and played mostly pretty well, though my driver was terrible.
Had a putt for 79 on the last but ended up blasting it 6 feet past and missing the comeback effort.

I'm too long to hit driver off most tees

34-32-66 on par 72 72.2/138 on Wednesday before it snowed 5 inches yesterday. Missed a 5 footer on 16 for birdie, and left a 10 footer on 18 dead in the jaws from 10 feet 2 balls short. Never shot 7 under. 6 birdies, 1 eagle, and 2 sloppy bogeys.

Nice, 6 birdies is my career high in a round (no eagles though )

Beat: It came in a round of 79.

Must’ve been a wild round!

Yeah I was +3 through 8, -1 through 12, and +7 through 18.

The fully thing is that I putted pretty good to keep it close to the 80s. I'm t8 of 12 going into final round. I'm only 17 shots off the lead.

As you can see 4 bad holes blew me up.

I pushed an upper body workout wasaaay too hard on Tuesday (read: I don’t work out and decided to smash push ups like my name is The Rock).
So for the last three days I’ve been in a lot of discomfort, which caused me to almost cancel golf today.

Felt ok in warm up but definitely not swinging as long or fast as normal, and wasn’t very comfortable. Worried about my long game and strapped in for what could’ve been an absolute gong-show.

Weirdly enough, long game was unreal - but I had no control over my short game!

Somehow shot a net par 82 with 7 pars, 9 bogeys, 1 double and 1 birdie.

6 birdies, 3 doubles, 1 triple

Putter was hot. Just got out of position on a few holes. It was our mens golf association event. Playing up a tee means good looks into par 5's. Did manage a double and a triple on two of them, and birdied the other 2. The 2 birdies I had 134y and 155y into them after some good tee shots.

Technically made a 7th birdie but didn't count it because it was a hole the assistant pro was teeing off from on a par 4 and he was only hitting from 209y.

-12 in a scramble, good for 3rd place. They somehow decided to use the blue tees at our course for a change. Nothing too exotic for rules, just the standard 2 mulligans per person.

Also won this:

I won an Ambrose event on Friday speaking of scrambles. (Is an Ambrose the same as a scramble? We don’t really use the term scramble in Australia).
We shot a bogey free -8, and with our team handicap of 9.125 we managed to hang on to first!

Shot an 82 in a solo non competition round this afternoon with 2 birdies and no 3-putts

I had to google that one. Yes looks like the same but ours didn't include handicaps.

About to head out for my final round with my AP2’s. Only had them less than a year and actually hitting them fairly well lately, but they’re just too stiff and unforgiving for me.
I’ve ordered Mizuno MP-20 MMC 4-P with PX LZ 5.5’s after much testing and fitting over the last few months.
Let’s hope I can send them off in style!

Couldn't putt for ****. Gorgeous 80* and low humidity day.

Hurt the back on the 6th tee and tightened up throughout the day. Couldn't hardly get the ball airborne from the 14th on, going +5 the last 5 holes.

The worst part is that I never have back issues. Golf tomorrow looks questionable.

2-man best ball. Our team shot -2, good for second to last out of about 40 teams.

Did hit a 3-wood on a driveable par 4 (265y) to 25 feet (my only birdie).

83 at my old home course, got brand new MP-20 MMC’s in the bag and they are criiiiiisp!

Scrambled horribly and drove the ball like a tard (except the 18th where I absolutely striped it). Left a lot of shots out there.

Also managed to play the par 5's at +5, so I have that going for me.

Feels like the end of the golf season. Snow and cold the next week.

Got out today for 9 and it was delightful; 50, sunny and no wind. Was behind a threesome to start so I played 2 balls, hit extra shots and then jumped around the front nine to get them all in. Hit some great shots including two great drives on my last two holes and a stuffed 7-iron on the last par-3. Solid end of the season.

I didn't shoot anything today because I was too busy shoveling a foot of snow.

Not being able to golf year round sounds awful. Though I guess it makes you appreciate spring and summer that much more.

It is horrible!!!

And best part is days in spring that are in the 40s seem glorious and you wind up playing and saying “what were we thinking???” around #12 or so when you can’t feel your toes anymore......but finish and still go back out the next day that’s the same.

Actually did manage to play yesterday for the first time in a month. Last nice day of the year unfortunately, this time it's over for good.

At least I have the masters to look forward to! Won a trip at my club with a private jet for the day of my choice. Never been to Augusta and thinking Saturday would be best.

I think if I had one day to choose I’d do Friday. Not the craziness of Thursday am with the ceremonial tee shots and it’s pre-cut so you can see more shots per group and more guys still in the field. Saturday def second. I’ve never been tho. Maybe Saturday is crazy busy
