That 66 is sweet. Very jealous.

15 years ago, I think I shot a 31 or 32 on the front 9 of the course where I worked. I promptly came home in 43 or something like that.

My best round ever, I shot a 69 (-3) on that course and was 3 shots behind the guy who broke the course record.

66 on a 74.4! Very impressive.

No official score for me tonight, though I was +2 through 11 and in the middle of the fairway on 12 when I quit. Hit some exra shots but played the first ball all the way through. Two things: Obviously the main point of going out was to test out the set of S55s that arrived this morning. But I also got to put some work in with a couple of different driver shafts. Actually, make that three, went back to an old putter too.

I played back a set of tees in hopes of being able to hit every club in the bag and that was successful. Immediate reaction: The S55s are niiiiiiiice. They aren't any longer than my Eye2s, but that's fine. They felt great and performed well. We'll see if I like them as much after a no-swing kind of day, but for a first round they were great. I expected them to be the backup set but I think I'm going to play them this weekend.

On the driver front, I'm hopeful that I'm going to be set with a Rogue Silver 110 MSI in S flex in the 915D2. The Atmos is a smoother feeling shaft but I think I get more out of the Rogue. The Whiteboard was fine, just not as good as the Rogue. Should get a bit more distance than with the X.

41-40-81 - No birdies, 2 doubles

Soaking wet and cart path only. Played up a set of tees to prepare for club event this weekend. Highlight of the day was almost driving the 324y par 4 14th. Carried it to 10 yards short of the green (with no roll obv).

No score, got in 5 holes of practice but gave it up as the course was busy and I'm playing in the morning. Perfect 75 degree low humidity evening. Pretty gratifying to be let through a group on a par 3, play quickly and hit a 3 iron to 4 feet.

Would have been better still to have made the putt. Oops.

(No, I won't be carrying the 3 iron, I just hadn't moved the new irons out of the backup bag yet).

My ball striking and putting were laughable today. Like, so bad.
I only hit 2 GIR and had a combined 7 putts on them.
My only par came from a chip-in.

1 eagle, 1 birdie, 2 doubles

MGA event. It was low 2 of 3 net. Our team shot -14. The winning team was -33. Like how is that humanly possible? When the known sandbaggers are complaining that they didn't win and would never play again, you know it's bad.

My eagle was on a 495y par 5. Hit a good drive with zero roll and then hit 4 iron from 208y to 3 feet for an easy eagle.

39-43-82. 1 birdie, 2 double bogeys.

Never put it all together. Had a few good shots, didn't putt well.

That format is gonna favor high handicaps massively. -33 is pretty ridiculous but if you have a team of 36 handicaps probably not impossible.

Yeah I knew we had zero chance to win. Me (5) and partners (8,18), no chance.

Only reason I played was because it was a charity fundraiser to raise $ for our assistant pro's Level 3 PGA card.

Scrambled my ass off on the front then it didn't happen on the back. Starting on 10 I went bogey, bogey, double, bogey, bogey, bogey.

Highlight of the day was a PW from 146 that landed 2 inches from the cup, then spun back 15 feet.

Lowlight was a 175y 7 iron 2nd shot into a par 5 that flew approximately 195 yards into the hazard over the green.

41-40-81. 1 birdie, 1 double bogey.

Poor day with the driver, worse with the putter.

After 6 holes I actually thought I was good at golf. Was 4 under including lipping out an 11 foot birdie putt and lipping out an eagle putt. I then had a bunch of doubles and shot 75

43 (par 37). LOL Tuesday night golf.

Did hit two very solid shots with the 19* hybrid so I think it took itself out of the "to be returned" danger zone.

I need to get a couple of wedges, hitting half-PWs isn't going well -- I'm hitting them too pure.

39-41.. needed to bogey 18, a downwind par 5, to break 80 for the first time ever. womp womp. also missed about 10 putts from within 12 feet.

35 - 2 birdies, 1 bogey

Walked 9 and played the tips this morning with no warm-up. Was a nice 80* at the start. Sweat through the first glove by hole #4. Was probably one of the better 9s I have put together in a while. 8/9 greens and 5/7 fairways. Irons could have been a bit closer to the hole but it wasn't bad.

One of the strangest rounds i have ever played. Had only 1 par on the front.

* Drove the 3rd hole (327y) which plays less than the distance when you cut the corner.
* Hit 4 iron to 5 feet for my 2nd on the par 5 9th and never touched the hole for eagle.
* Hit 5 iron to 20 feet for eagle on the par 5 13th and 3-putted.

Only mare 1 putt over 5 feet on the day and that was a 30 footer for birdie that hit the back of the hole, popped up, landed on left edge, then dropped.

Oh yeah, my chipping sucked too.

Par 71, 75.0 rating, 145 slope

Made 4 birdies, an eagle, 7 bogeys, and a double.

Course is very tough. Hit a few loose shots, but otherwise played ok.

Which course was this? I'm up in Glenwood Springs; I saw your post a little while back that you're at Cherry Creek CC. I grew up in Denver; have you been in the area a long time?

Charity scramble today, played with an 18, a 22 and a woman who's about a 30. We shot 63 with an eagle and seven birdies. I really need to start keeping track of lipouts because I had at least three or four. Winning score was 57.

Played well through 15 and then just died. Been having some foot issues and they're really not happy right now.

Played on my home course yesterday with a few buddies and several beers. The first of which was cracked on the 1st hole at 9:30am.

I hit the ball really well.

Why? 3 or 4 sounds like a pretty average amount of lipouts over 18 holes.

0 birdies, 2 or 3 doubles

Completely lost my swing on the 7th tee and limped home. Had 186 and 181 to two of the par 5's and managed to only make par on both. I suck.

One day member/guest tomorrow. I get 5 and partner gets 8. We have no chance.

It was a scramble and I putted last, so I took about half as many putts as a regular round.

And, fwiw, it seems to me like more than average for a golfer of my modest skill level. But that’s just based on observation and a potentially biased memory which is why one would track such things.

37-42-79. No birdies, 1 double bogey. 11/13 fairways, 11/18 greens, 35 putts.

Annoying waste of a solid B+ ball striking day. Missed two birdie putts inside 5 feet on the front, throw in a 3 putt from 15 feet and it wrecked a nine that should have been low. Only one fairway miss of any consequence and it shouldn't have been worse than a bogey.
