LOL Tuesday golf. Actually played well, other than a mental error that lead to the quad.

Another tournament here Saturday. Looking to beat this score. Decided that if I can equal or better this I am going to enter the FL Mid-Senior Championship in August.

I don't understand golf. Played 36.

39 - 45 = 84
32 - 35 = 67

Like how is the 17 shot swing even possible.

Was one of my better ball striking rounds ever. Birdies were from 17 feet, 10, 9, 6, 6 and 2 feet.

Fully expect to shoot 90 tomorrow

67 is pretty solid.

No score for me, went out late for a little practice. Received a 915D3 today with a Rogue Silver shaft in stiff flex, hit a bunch of balls trying to compare it with the 915D2 with X flex. Ended up as an incomplete, as I had a very unusual (for me) swing flaw that it took me a while to fix. The X is the leader in the clubhouse though. The D3 head looks nice, but I've rapidly gotten used to the D2.

Also hit about a dozen iron shots while out on the course, those were very encouraging. I think I only missed one green.

The course is rated 70.5/113 so pretty easy. Still felt awesome though

45-37 for an 82 (+10) with 2 triple bogeys on my home course. 71.0/124

I was +9 through my first 7 holes and +1 on my last 11. My lag putting was really good except for one hole.

7/18 GIR, 1/13 FIR, 34 putts (4 3-putts)

Teed of on #10 to start. Rained hard on us on the 16th that just soaked everything. Had brief moments of sun after that which baked me. Rained off and on a total of 5 times or so. When we reached the turn there was still FOUR groups yet to tee off so we had a 40 minute delay before we started our next 9 holes.

By the time we teed off of #1 I was just tired of being soaked and was mentally done. Put my second shot in 5 inch high rough and never found it. After that double I checked out.

I had the pull draws today and played out of the trees a lot. Hitting 1/13 fairways is not good. Only fairway I hit was a 5 iron off the tee.

Feel happy about my first nine, rest is a throw away.

38-40-78. 4 birdies, 2 double bogeys

Starter was really pushy this morning, so I didn't get to loosen up at all. Missed the first four fairways leading to three bogeys. Took one swing with the backup driver, awful, double. Calmed down after that and hit the last 8. Irons started out very good, then I hit a few heavy after the turn. Chipping was awful and cost several shots. Putting mediocre.

Last hole is a 420 yard dogleg right. Really gratifying to hit a picture perfect fade around the corner and stick a perfect hybrid 18 inches from the cup.

Ugly 76 with only 5 greens

My game got a bit exposed.

The course was like 400 yards longer than my home course with way more non flat lies. I was hitting mostly full shots compared to my normal flick wedges on most of the holes at my home course.

+5 with a 12 foot birdie putt on 14 when I saw a bolt of lightning making my way towards the green. Picked that **** up and got the hell out of there.

40-39-79. No birdies, no double bogeys.

At least that's what the card said. Felt worse than that, though putting was really the only thing that was terrible. Hot, humid and windy day.

Put a new (to me) driver shaft in play, hit 6/12 fairways with it (1/1 with the driver I have been using). Really like the way it feels, going to have to see if I like it better in a D2 head instead of the D3. Then it'll be time to decide which is going to give me more consistent results. I also have a Whiteboard yet to try iirc.

36-36-72 on my 74.4/144 par 72 home course.

Shot a 40-34-74 yesterday. Was crazy windy on the front, but calmed down on the back.

Course is finally living up to its rating as it's playing sooo firm. Easily felt like I played as well as some of my 69s from earlier in the year. Controlling my ball pretty well, and feel like I'm close to shooting a 65 (assuming I get a calmer, softer day).

Ball striking was really good, including the driver too. Putting was bad. No 3-putts but I missed 2 birdies of 5 feet each and probably missed another 3-4 inside of 20 feet.

37 (par 35). LOL Tuesday night golf.

36-35-71 today.

Forgot to mention I know the area. Used to go there every year for work. Didn't golf back then though.

39-40-79. No birdies, 1 double bogey.

Frustrating round. Missed a lot of really makeable birdie putts. Short off the tee. Hit a number of irons on the back nine perilously close to the hosel. As usual, I need to start over and learn how to actually chip and pitch with some sort of consistency.

31-35-66 on my 74.4 rated course.

Hit all 9 greens on the front, 6/9 on the back. 8 birdies, 2 bogeys. Was 7 under through 16 and made a real nervy swing on 17 leading to a bogey.

29 putts. Had a full 270 degree u-turn for par on the 10th, and missed 3 birdie putts in the 10-12 foot range.

Best round of my life relative to par by 2 shots.

Damn, that's awesome. I feel you about being nervy towards the end of the round with a career low on the line.

I had my career low by 2 going to the last hole which is a reachable par 5 but with water short and right of the green (and OB right). I decided to play it safe and hit hybrid off the tee followed by a lay-up short of the water. I was happy when I hit the 90y shot to 3 feet and make it to best it by 3.

I've shot 5 under 31 a few times in my life, but always just collapsed on the back. I've gotten comfortable over the past ~10 months at playing in the 2 under to even range, when a year or two ago that would have made me nervous. I hung in there incredibly well all things considered. Getting to 7 under through 16 was pretty crazy.

Need to learn to get comfortable at that sort of score if I'm going to be able to compete in any higher level tournaments. Feeling kinda hopeful at my chances at the US Am qualifier I have in like 12 days.

edit: to that point, I shot a 4 under 31 in a tournament 2 weeks ago, and backed it up with a solid 42. To be fair, the back is way harder... but still.
