Played a 3 day tournament last week and shot 72-84-70. The last round included three 3-putts. Ship the Mr Consistency under title. All the rounds took about 5 1/2 hours which was brutal.
Yeah that is a brutal pace. Sadly common in tournaments. It is sad that finishing a tournament round in under 4:45 actually is a decent time.
The guy with the s....s in my tournament shot 100.
I know pace of play is always an issue in tournaments but I honestly never see it in the events that I play. Maybe with the exception of my member/guest pace is not that bad. For am tour events you have a time limit of 4:30 for a round or within 14 minutes of the group in front. I have never seen a round go over 4:30 yet. Now for the most part we are playing in groups of 3 but on occasion we play groups of 4.
34-39-73 on my par 72 home course. Wind was the hardest I've seen on it since I joined last fall. Hit a 7 iron from 240, and a 7 iron from 130. Feel happier with that score than when I shot 69 last weekend on the same course, just given how hard it was playing. Feels nice to be able to control my trajectories again.
Course soggy after a lot of overnight rain. Kept the ball in play, short but in play. Irons were better than Tuesday. Had 4 three putts on the front, but did get up and down the last three holes to make it a good round.
Sad to drive into the course on Thursday for a range session to see none of the greens with flags in them. They aerated all fairways and greens #sadpanda
I was even after 14. Have 150 into 15 and pull a 9 iron badly and leave myself with 60 feet. 3-putt bogey. Then go par, bogey, bogey to end it.
Hit 2 bad tee shots on the day leading to hitting 3 off the tee and 2 of the 3 doubles. My 9 iron through 58* game is spot on lately leading to a lot of good birdie looks.
have had a left elbow problem, so I haven't played in awhile....but played yesterday at Boulder Creek and shot a workman-like 81. Two birdies (on par 5s where I hit my 2nd shots either next to or over the green) and two double bogeys. Lost ball on the 2nd hole and bad green management on the 2nd.
Driver was on, for some reason. Only had one drive that wasn't playable.
is there pain on the inside of the elbow? if so, i've found success using a strap around the upper forearm just below the elbow. i've also found these types of exercises can help.
Played the tips (only 3306y) and walked 9 this morning in 1:15 with the new cart. Was kinda surprised that the card didn't roll as smooth as I had thought it would over the grass. On the cart paths obv much better.
Tournament at World Woods. T5/11 in my flight. The 40 on the front included 3 3-putt bogeys. Figured out the greens on the back but still 37 putts. 10/14 FIR, 10/18 GIR.
For playing absolutely horrible yesterday with like 8 lost balls on the day I'm relatively happy with the result.
Golfed Ledgview lots of touring pro's have come out of this course. GM is Gerry Hadwin Adams dad nice guy.. anyway on to the golf. 46 front 36 back lol yup no warm up str8 from car to 1st tee. Played back tees and the greens where super slow for Ledgeview standards had a few 3 puts..almost had a hole in 1 on 17 2" away. Other then that grinding day.
lol, was also in the trunk to tee brigade today. Got rained out this morning, was told the wrong tee time this afternoon. Didn't even get a practice swing.
36-42-78. 3 birdies, 1 double bogey.
Grass finally started growing a little on the greens, putter was a little better though I did miss a couple early. Ball striking mostly good, chipping is a work in progress.
DAMN YOU OLD TECHNOLOGY COUNT: 1. Worked out though, ball rolled to the fringe and I drained a 25 footer from there for a bridie.
Today's 3 iron replacement: Ping Eye2 2 iron. Didn't have time to fish out another hybrid. Dialed it down just a little too much on the Par 3 and it kicked back into the front bunker.
Ongoing results: Ping G25 hybrid 0-for-3 (off to eBay), 2 iron 0-for-1, 4 iron 0-for-1.
Pretty uninspiring round. Ball striking was a little off, though driver was pretty good. Chipping poor. Made a couple midrange putts the last two holes, so feeling pretty good about that.
Updated Par 3 3i replacement standings: G25 hyrbid 0-for-3 (to eBay), 2 iron 0-for-1, 4 iron 1-for-2. Looked at a Titleist hybrid in the shop, felt decent. May be a future contender.
Getting tired of all the rain here. Played 6 holes yesterday before it started raining. Probably could have played through it but why? Looks like rain through the week here and a possible tropical system at the end of the week. It's not even the normal summer rainy season yet.
One good thing is that the rough is starting to grow in now.
Was playing decent in my tournament 2 weeks back then had a blow up followed by mental check out. Was just inside the money(merchandise) line and then boom. Ended up shooting 95 with 85 or 86 ESC(wrap your head around that one) I suck at grinding out a score once I blow up.
11th hole is where it came crashing down. Uphill tee shot to a longer par 4. Tee ball was crap low but say where it hit. Turns out it hit just on the up slope into a pile of mud and leaves. Took close to my full 5 minutes but no do so I go back to tee(didn't think I needed provisional. Hit another crap drive to right rough. Had a blind shot to back pin from like 200. Didn't realize it was downwind and had only played the course once so didn't realize long was death into a jungle. Sure enough can't find ball again and have to ****ing go back and hit the hybrid shot again. I am pissed at this point and proceed to chunk my chip, take 0.5 seconds and hit a crap chip again and rage 3 putt. As I am waiting to finish 3 putt the heavens open up and I am just soaked, the rain then stops the second I manage to get the rain gear on. Golf gods hate me.
Cliffs:
Crap drive
walk of shame
3 from tee crap
Hybrid long

sucks
Asked my marker if he needed a calculator to figure out my score
Rained for several hours today and I went out and walked 9 at the tail end of it. Everything was locked-up for the day so I had the course all to myself. Rain the first 4 holes and then stopped after that. Standing water everywhere.
Two 3-putt bogeys otherwise I hit it pretty well. Played from the tips.
48-41-89 / 6,239 yds / 69.6/133. One bird.
40-43-83 / 6,269 yds / 68.7/117. Three birds.
41-40-81 / 6,508 yds / 70.6/126. Two birds, two triples.
Definitely haven't played this well this early in a season before, things are clicking and short game & putting is awesome. All the big numbers are a result of poor tee shots. Really feels like breaking 80 is going happen soon, the triples on the 81 were just silly too.
Weather really came strong in May, historically hot for here and course was in pretty good conditions quickly. Think I got around 20 rounds in, happy days. First round had four separate hale showers and eight of rain, was forecasted for no rain. But yeah sweet after that. Last round 84. Hope the weather does not turn too much!
