I haven't done one of these in a while, but figured I would since I had one of my best ball striking rounds ever.

1: 440 yards par 4. Drive struck well, but anything not down the right ends up in a little fairway bunker. Up against the lip, hacked out with a lob wedge. 65 yard pitch to 5 feet. Made for par.

2: 450 yards par 4. Drive hammered down the middle but didn't go that far. 190 to a back pin, perfect 3 iron to 8 feet. Putt left short like a *****. Par.

3: 205 par 3. There's a weird tree front right of the green that eats my drawing long irons, so I hit a soft 5 wood for some height to 20 feet. Almost made putt. Par.

4: 420 yard par 4. Driver up the middle. I Scott Fawcett aimed 40 feet right due to water on the left, and pulled my 8 iron right at the flag to 8 feet. Putt not even close. Par.

5: 440 yard par 4. Hooked drive into the trees. Had a shot at the green with a massive running hook, but it got eaten up by rough and I had about 50 yards in. Hit it to about 5 feet, missed putt badly. Bogey.

6: 672 yard par 5. Drive crushed down the middle. 5 wood crushed down the middle. Pitching wedge hit a little clunky, but okay. Pin high 20 feet. Left the putt 4 feet short. Missed that putt badly. 3 putt bogey.

7: 160 yard par 3. 6 iron looks good in the air, hits the ridge in the middle of the green, and funnels to front of the green like 60 feet away. Double breaker putt hit nicely to about 4 feet. Power lipped that out to 6 feet past the hole. And made that one for a 3 putt bogey.

8: 370 yard par 4. Driver down the middle. Pitching wedge pin high to 20 feet. Burned the edge, tap in par.

9: 400 yard par 4. Driver crushed down the middle. Very nice pitching wedge, but drew too much, pin high 20 feet, straight down hill. Coaxed it up to a tap in par.

10: 460 yard par 4 down hill. Driver crushed down the middle. 7 iron Scott Fawcett aimed 40 feet right since everything funnels like crazy to the left. Ball somehow sticks on the green 40 feet right of pin. Putt to 3 feet, and actually make it for a par.

11: 550 yard par 5. Drive crushed down the middle. 5 wood crushed to 80. Deceled on the lob wedge onto the fringe. Putt from 40 feet on the fringe looked good, but went 5 feet by. Missed that, bogey.

12: 185 yard par 3. 4 iron a tad clunky but carried the bunker in front of the green, and ended up very nice about 15 feet for birdie. Putt looked/felt good barely burned edge and missed. Par.

13: 450 par 4. Extreme dogleg left. Driver crushed down the middle thru the fairway. Trees in the way, had to hit an extreme slice with an 8 iron to the front fringe, 40 feet up a ridge. Putt looked good but went 4 feet by. Missed it badly. Bogey.

14: 400 yard par 4. Driver crushed down the middle. Lob wedge hit fat. "Go. Big bounce, sit" I quote myself as the ball was in the air. Did just that. Made an 8 footer for birdie.

15: 240 yard par 3. 5 wood hit perfectly, went a little long, through the green and left. Putted from the rough to a foot, tap in par.

16: 300 yard par 4. Driver hit well, but never saw it. Looked for like 10 minuted and I was like pin high left of the green, chipping. Bladed the chip like an idiot into the bunker. Hit an okay, but a little fat bunker shot that rolled out to 8 feet. Made for par.

17: 540 yard par 5. Crushed driver, but didn't draw like it usually does, caught bunker. Hit a terribly fat 4 iron like 50 yards, leaving myself 215 in. 5 wood struck nice, but left to the right, caught the bunker, bad downslope. Hit an awesome spinny one to 5 feet, and made it for par.

18: 340 yard par 4, split fairway. Went left like I do when I have a good score. Hooked it, but it missed the grass bunkers...good break. 6 iron left to a back pin, hit a low line drive that somehow hit on the front of the green and rolled the exact distance to like 8 feet. Putt straight downhill, but barely missed it. Tap in par.

38-37-75. 19 putts on the front 9. If I had a semi-hot putter I could've shot a 68 or something.

79. My swing is a disaster, should have been worse.

I was trying to dial in the new driver and realized I left the torque wrench at home. Still averaged 254 with the stick with no roll on all but 2 of them. 220 and a 221 yard heel **** disaster killed the average All the rest over 250 and I was missing on the heel.

Played at the stock length 45.5" and stock SW of D3. Both of those do not suit me, especially the length. Going to butt trim an inch or so and add 2 grams under the grip. Pretty sure that will put me around D1.5 and the same length as my R15 which averaged longer at 44.5 then 45.5 since I could actually find the center of the face.

Was super impressed on the carry when I missed a touch low and a touch to the heel. Went to dog **** once I got too far on the heel but that is every driver. Feels like I am going to gain 15 yards or more on those low shots on the face and at least 5-10 yards on center hits.

ramble over

Played so shiiiite today. I've lost my driver, I just can't seem to hit it right now, when three weeks ago it was the best club in my bag.
Was my clubs annual 'Open' tournament today, and I shot a 107 (there were prizes for net and gross)
Had zero pars, but I did manage to birdie the tough par 5 4th hole (index 2) which was nice.
Made an 8 on a par 3, which was not nice.

Went out and played another 14 socially with some mates afterwards, still couldn't hit my driver but won the most skins somehow, mostly thanks to a wicked wedge on our toughest rated hole that I threw way up in the air, into a howling NE-erly wind that sat still 2 feet from the pin, which I holed for a bank of 3 skins. Picked up a few more with tidy pars, including a nice up and down from the pot bunker on the 3rd.

I hate how addicted I am to this fkkkkking game

Round 1 of a Golf Channel Am Tour "Major" at Innisbrook. Played the Island Course today.

Started on the back. The front is massively difficult. Super tight. We played it at around 6700y. I'm sitting 4th/18 in my flight 3 back of the lead. 3 bad holes but really held this one together. Felt like falling apart around the turn.

Skins are not in as of yet but it looks like I have 3 of em, so good start. Shooting for top 3 and an exemption in national championship.

Damn that is a sexy first 9 there, 6700 is pretty long especially when it isn't rock hard, gl tomorrow.

As for my round chopping an inch and lowering the swing weight made the driver so much better. The thing is easy to hit and launches high. Every shot was within a yard of it's pitch mark but carried 1 a hair under 280 and once I found a setting on 6th hole that was solid all of them carried over 250. Started 4 over after 4 so pleased enough playing 1 over the rest of the way in low 40's weather.

39 - 38 = 77
27 putts w/ one 3 putt
6/14 FIR
8/18 GIR
2 birdies 1 double

Round 2 at the Copperhead course playing 6,631y

Had the low round of the day but fell 2 shots short of the victory, finishing 2nd. I played really well early, but missing birdie putts of 6 feet on 1 and 4 feet on 3 kinda hurt. My double was popping up my drive and not clearing the water, re-hitting 3 on the tee.

After about 11 I had a terrible swing but held it together somehow including going +1 through the "Snake Pit".

Best par of the weekend was taking my driver off of 18 and hitting a tree about 80 yards off the tee and dropping straight down. Don't really have a second shot so I was going to hit 3 wood and punch out a ways. Pulled it through the trees somehow leaving me a 7 iron to the green. Hit the iron to about 25 feet leaving a downhill slider which I drained.

The 2nd earned me entry into the national championship event next fall.

Congrats even if you didn't get the win. That is a legit course and I imagine a place that is very easy to blow up on and go tin cup and end up shooting 104.

I played so good in 20-25 mph winds and 39 degrees. Was a fun day of golf not golf swing, lots of flighting shots, things like PW from 85 yards and other such shots I would never hit. I hit the ball really well, was picking conservative targets so not many birdies but I am happy, good way to end with what will be most likely last round of the year. A lot of the boxes were up so was way short, probably a hair over 6k.

36 - 37 = 73
31 putts no 3 putts
8/14 FIR
12/18 GIR
2 birdies 3 bogeys.

I believe yesterday was the last round of my golf season. Teed off when it was 30 degrees or so. Not so bad until 12 when the wind went from 5 mph to 20 mph and snowing, finished out of stubbornness. Shot 81 which was actually really good for the conditions.

Greens were frozen so rolling probably 3 feet faster than normal, (the course has slow greens so not like it was crazy fast, just led to a lot of safe putts and misreading amount of break)

The fun was trying to get a ball to hold the green. Full wedge shots stopped between 10-30 yards from the slight indentation the ball left on the greens. Longer clubs went off the back of the green if they hit the green on the fly except on the holes with a huge slope I could land it on to slow the ball down. Approaches were mix of normal and frozen so was a crap shoot to landing short and having it bounce on. Was still fun though.

78, my best score ever. and my 2nd time under 80..... legit 6000+ yard course. and winter time.

that's 6 over. i started out 4 over after 4. next 11 holes = even par (1 birdie and bogey each). then 2 over on last 3 holes in very very dark conditions. so conceivably could have been much better.

lots of things i've improved. flattening out swing and adding distance. i will say it was very very wide open course for driving and some pretty tight pins/greens but i hit it very high and solid inside 200 yards so no problem. good course for me. couldn't have done the 78 on a tight course.

5 pars and 1 birdie today with only 1 GIR.

Smashed the shaft of my driver on the 9th so played rest of round with my 3w off the tee, and might continue to do that for a few months - I was absolutely smoking it

Just posting to say screw all you. Looking like no golf for me for til 2018. A solid 3 inches of snow on the ground here and nothing above 32 degrees for the low in the 10 day. Though this year I finally accomplished playing in all months. Hit up February with no snow at 15 degrees.

I once played here in New England on New Year’s Day at 52 degrees. I think 2011?

There is an off chance the snow might melt enough to play Tuesday here. Not holding my breathe though.

Another tournament yesterday. Grand Cypress New Course

This course is a Jack Nicklaus design after St. Andrews, complete with double greens and pot bunkers everywhere. As you can see by the fairways hit this is the widest course in history. Some fairways are nearly 100 yards wide. Even I could hit driver all day.

As with most Nicklaus courses the approach shots is where all the trouble is. Table top greens and bunkering was touch. Greens were pretty fast. Iron play was way below average and I had too many 3-putts. Ended up finishing 6th/13 somehow.

Edit. I didn't enter any stats below putts. Sand saves would have been 1/1 though.

Wtf you guys putting into a vortex Twenty in a row and Iīm happy, some uphill in the end and a slight break, but yea I knew I should make more.

Reminds me, in a tourney last summer and one guy in group was putting lights out. So we hyped him and he in a sombre voice "yeah...nice...but last week-end played a 3-man scramble...1 stroke from winning and we managed to miss a 10feet putt. It was on a replacement green with a hole the size of a bucket".

lol no it is that skillz 7 foot putting matt so flat(yes that debate) The last part is on a slight uphill with a standard size hole. The slight uphill is meant to make you hit it hard enough so in real life your putt would go 18 inches past or whatever is optimal. In reality it makes it so you can jam it in with too much speed very easily. It also has marks to keep the ball in between so you always line up perfectly. It is pretty easy if you are a decent putter.

Yep I have line to putt at, prolly thats not even good cause itīs too easy and doesnt train to line up? Still manage to miss once in a while. Checked and itīs 8feet, seems I need to get my approches closer than that
