Re: the course. Ugh. It was in HORRIBLE shape. Wasn't a good sign when my dad asked the starter how things were out there and he said, "well, we fired the superintendent." They should have done it a while ago. It wasn't just in poor shape, it was in "somebody ****ed up bad" shape. Fairways were pretty much in pick-and-clean, greens super patchy and unpredictable. I really hope they get it figured out, because it's a beautiful and interesting track that I'd love to play when it's in good shape.
That's terrible news about Druids. I really like that course (I live about a half-hour away), and haven't been out there this year. Guess I don't need to worry about making that trip anytime soon.
I haven't played enough this year, so my goal for the next few weeks is to tee off at dawn a couple of times a week, which should get me home in time to start working by 9.
Today's round (par 70, 66.3/109 from the whites):
36-37-73
1 birdie, 4 bogeys, 13 pars
7/12 fairways, 9/18 greens, 29 putts
This is the round where I probably could have hit par if I didn't putt like an idiot. Missed three birdie putts from inside of 10 feet; the only one I made was on 18, from 40 feet or so. Gladly would have traded in the bomb to get the three close ones back. Also got up and down out of a bunker, which is rare for me, so there's that.
