Probably won't have a chance to golf the rest of the week so got in another 18. Been working hard on 50 yards and in but my ball striking has gone to ****, time to focus on that next week. Luckily short game was decent, drove the ball well and made every putt.

41-41 82 - 37 putts - 12/14 fairways and 10/18 greens

Strong tee game - rough iron and chipping day. Didn't make any putts (4.5 foot comebacker for par on 16 was longest of the day)

Played shockingly bad yesterday - just can't seem to get it together during a Wednesday comp round for some reason.
Played the front 9 with two mates, one a 11hc the other 28hc and hit the ball very well for the most part. Had my first ever GIR on the 2nd after a cracking 7i from the rough 140m out. Stoked to make a regulation par there for the first time. Also birdied 6 after a perfect 4i off the tee and a SW from 85m left me with an easy 80cm putt.
Finished with a +11 47, won 6 skins (11hc won 6 also, 28hc won 1 so netted 5 total)

40-44-84 - 1 birdie, 1 double, 2 triples

One of the triples was a pull hook hybrid off the tee which is a shot that is never in my game. I think it had something to do with me hitting a couple 3 woods off the tee earlier.

Lone birdie was the 18th where there was no pin in the green so I hit to the middle and was 15 feet away. That should tell me something right there.

Long drive of the day was on the 15th 403y par 4. Had 88 to the green. Also finished in 90 minutes today. Would have been less but I had to wait for the guy setting the pin on 6-9.

90 minutes is flying. I would have played 36

Teed off at 12:45 and it was 91* and humid as ****. I guess it's that time of the year again.

That is the worst. I would probably end up walking half as many rounds as I do up here.

Only advantage to the hot weather is all the roll you get with driver. Haven't hit the wet season yet and we are about 10" below normal since the beginning of the year. I can't remember the last time we have had it rain for more that 5 minutes.

39-38-77. 3 birdies, 1 double bogey. Very solid day with the driver, especially on the back nine. Irons mostly decent, chipping and putting still need work. It didn't hurt that the tees were up, though I had a couple of bad misfires from 100-110 yards.

my house in Portland has received over 56.75 inches of rain (an average of over a 1/4" per day) since Oct 1st, the second wettest winter in the past 75 years.
it hasn't rained for only 44 of the 211 days. only 10 times has it not rained for two days in a row or more with the maximum dry stretch being 3 days (twice). there was that one time in january where it didn't rain for 6 straight days, but we had 12" of snow on the ground so that doesn't really count. we've had stretches of 11, 12, 18 (twice), and 22 consecutive days with rain, and we've also had 25 days with over 1/2" of rain and 13 more with over 1". we were the recipient of 2.79" on Feb 5th, which was part of 4 1/2" in three days

let's just say the past 7 months have redefined the term 'playable' when it comes to portland golf courses. there are actually three in the area that are reasonably walkable, but several (including some of the best) have just been mud bogs with almost every drive plugging in the fairway.

Eight rounds so far this year, last one the best at 84, this was easier course so did not get punished from bad hits so much. Did get to putt at an eagle twice from fringe, short par-4 and short par-5, both pretty close butnahhh (3 birdies in 4 holes for a bit of feelgood at least). Chipping still awful. Again better forecasts for next week but today it´s

-1 to my hc thru 6, then +7 with 4 to play. Made par on 16, the three-putt bogeyed 17 and made par on 18 after spraying off the tee right, then spraying my 3w even further right. Found my ball on the 9th, played back over the trees then fired a wicked 60* wedge to 2 feet to save par and finish only +5 to my hc.

Only lost three brand new Z-Stars too... fks sake I hate golf

played one the weirdest courses yesteday just past Vancouver. Furry Creek Golf Club.
they had 7 par 3s, 6 par 5s. shot 42/45. Probably one the most scenic courses in Van area. First time playing it so was difficult, have a lot blind shots. some holes call for high irons off the tee

their signature hole 14 par 3, 182 from whites. i of course went for it instead playing to the right. i hit one my purest hybrids and was aiming like rocks on left cause wind was strong. my blind ass thought i stuck it tight but ended up in the beach.

42-41-83 - 1 birdie, 7 pars, 8 bogeys, 2 doubles

Nothing too spectacular. Tee shots were bad early then good late. Iron play was terrible. Putting OK.

A little tip I picked up from the Golf Channel helped me a lot chipping. Pretend the front of the ball is where you are trying to hit it. Seemed to work well for me but I still need a little practice in distance control.

Off to Vegas tomorrow, playing Paiute Wolf.

Thx for chipping tip, yea gotta check some youtube vids on it, but no use yet since the practice area is not open hah. Got another thing to figure out too as I´ve always swung irons flat I think, not taking divots and now maybe understood how to work on that. Funny to make quite a big change and find out that it´s hella hard to hit the ball the new way.

Played today on Sunday mid-morning. Surprisingly only took 4 hours despite the slowness.

Played with my best friend who is 6'5" 320~lbs whose first time out was today since last November. He shot a legit 126, no mulligans.

I went 47-40. Beer kicked in the back nine.

43-45=88

No flubs or chunks today but man was my bunker game piss poor. That's really where I lost 5-6 strokes and when you don't make anything between 5-10 feet all day it compounds the issue. Still looking for that round where it all comes together, it'll happen.

6 penalty strokes including three balls OB off the tee on short par 3s with a PW in my hand...wtf? it's a PW!?!

should have known i was doomed after puring every shot on the practice tee before the round.

par 5 11th pretty much sums up my round. long off the tee in the fairway, pure the second 200+ right into the middle of the narrow neck in front of the green ~60 yards out. skull my third over the green into a fir tree (likely overcompensation for several chunked shots earlier in the round). take an unplayable penalty and lie four, hit a damn near perfect chip to a 25 yard short sided down hill flag except for the part where it lands just off the green and plugs. up and down for a seven.

Terrible round, 48-49-97. A ton of shanked iron shots. Had been striking the ball well before yesterday. Back to the range to do some figuring things out this week. I feel like I wasn't rotating, just swaying laterally back and forward, which is always the kiss of death for me with the irons.
