44-38 82 - 8/14 fwy (7/7 on the back nine and 1/6 on the front), 13 GIR, 36 putts, no penalty shots.

Triple bogie where I tried to get out of a deep fairway bunker and blasted the lip, hit me in the forehead and stayed in the bunker got the next one just short of the green tho!

Double on the first hole, 6 bogies (3 3-putt bogies), 9 pars, 1 birdie

Fun day even though I didn't make **** on the greens and a few sloppy three putts :-/

Hit 7 GIR in a row at one point; likely most best streak ever (can't remember better) and played that stretch even par.

I always thought "how can you 3-putt bogey so much" until I played bent grass greens this past week. Also when greens are 100+ feet long or wide, I get it now.

37-41-78. 1 birdie, 1 double bogey. 7/13 fairways, 10/18 greens, 33 putts.

Ball striking pretty decent, putting wasn't real sharp.

I guess I can't golf for a month. Every course I've played in the last 2 weeks has a gypsy moth infestation. Literally thousands of moths, and when you try to take a shot they are covering you like flies on ****. It's incredible. Supposedly it only happens like once every decade or something.

So after breaking 70 the other day I proceed to shoot a pair of 77's this weekend on easy courses. I'm so pissed right now.....

Played like aids the past week or so but I started hitting fairways today and went 40-34-74. Hit my first shot into a hazard but decided to retee and tripled the first hole, and shot even par over the next 17!

I think this was my best back 9 ever. Hoping I can put it all together and break 70 one of these days. New wedges and hybrid coming tomorrow!

Third straight round under 90 (I'm a 19hc) so happy with how things are progressing. Putting held me back, missed a lot of short par putts. Ball striking was probably best round I've had.

Been playing pretty much bogey golf recently. Always sucking in at least one aspect. One round last week however I did not suck in anything and had a bunch of good shots. Then when in trouble had luck too and ended up shooting 37-41--78, new personal best and 2nd time under 80. Happy to pull it off, but dunno when will replicate as rounds after that have been a struggle again.

40 (par 35). No birdies, 2 double bogeys.

Good ball striking, a couple poor chips, mediocre putting.

Played the tips. Didn't have the A game today, nothing good, nothing terrible. Putting was OK today, bent grass greens again.

Highlight was the kick in birdie. Lowlights were the two doubles on par 5's. Hit the water going for it in two including hitting the water twice on the 9th.

38+ 42 =80 very happy about the round

First time I've played 18 holes in a month. Ive been going through tennis elbow. I have hardly been able to play because of it. Been practicing my putting and chipping to try and keep from getting too rusty.

Front 9 38 was lucky. I did not have good contact. I kept getting good bounces, scrambled to get up and down several times and chipped in from 30 feet on the 9th.

Back 9 42 was played much better than the front 9. Scores should have been reversed. I had good contact but I just could not catch a break. Every lie was huge side hill or in a deep divot. A couple of chips were very challenging, steep downhill lies, and I hit them to 15 feet and two putted. I was very happy making easy bogies. A lot of places I used to make doubles. I felt like I did not hit a bad shot on the back 9 and just could not catch a break.

Played a scramble this afternoon, shot -14. Winning score was -16. 14 birdies, 4 pars. About as good as it gets for a group without any bombers -- we could only reach one of the par 5s and only because I hit one dead solid flush off the tee, had an eagle chip from the edge of the fringe go down in the hole, take a look, spin around and come back out the front.

Fun game when everyone is contributing and the putts are falling.

Played the tees where they play the ANA from. Kinda cool that they actually have those tees out every day.

After the first four holes I got into a groove although my 3 wood off the tee was never really there. I was pulling the ball right quite a bit. Being +3 over the last 14 holes with 12 pars was pretty good. Couldn't make a birdie putt to save my life and I had a lot of them in the 15-25 foot range. Greens are just too tough to read the first time playing there.

Highlight of the day was hitting a good tee shot on 18 and being able to go for it. I had 240y to the pin on a slight uphill lie. I nailed a 3 wood that hit the back fringe and stopped here, about 2 feet away from rolling down the hill and in the water.

Chipped all the way across the green and two-putted from there for my par. I think the ladies have it easier because they can aim for the stands behind and to the right of the green and use it as a backstop.

All in all a fun day. I have more pics but am having issued with Imgur from my phone. Will post more later.

Some pics:

ANA Tees

5th Hole - 182y Par 3

6th Hole - 387y Par 4 - This one has the little finger of a fairway between water.

Approach to the 6th:

14th Hole - 148y Par 3

15th Hole - 386y Par 4 - This is the one running along the road to the left. I always seem to see players fail here. Wasn't too tight I didn't think.

39 +38 = 77

Thats being a bit generous though. I was playing solo after work and did not warm up. I took a mulligan on the 1st tee. My 1st shot was playable I just wanted to loosen up and hit a good one. Early in the round I had a couple very nice groups let me through. They were waiting on the next tee box for me to finish putting. So I took a gimme putt of about 4-5 ft jogged up. Hit onto the par 3 green. Putted to about 5 feet. Picked up my ball and ran off to speed things up. They were both makable but not straight in. Took another gimmie when another group let me through. Walked 18 holes in 2 1/2 hours due to the awesome people that went out of their way to let me through. But, at the end of the round I was bummed that I had not taken the start of the round more seriously. My best "clean" score ever is a 78.

Overall I am very very happy with how I am playing. I hope this is my new norm.

Played yesterday the only 3-course place here, 90-85-94. Carried the bag, little tired in the end but dont think it added too many shots.

On first round a 6-capper buddy was playing bad and steaming. After a duffed pitch he tried to throw the club to his bag but it went long and into the reeds of a water hazard. Turned out it had gone into the water, and we could not spot it. "Take your shoes off and..." but friend was having none of it and so we went on. After round and on cooler heads we went back, hazard was muddy from the bottom and became steep quickly. Just as I thought we might not find it he brushed aside a couple of long reeds and it was floating there perfectly upright, waiting to be picked up.

Second round on a par-4 we heard loud shouting from the next par-3. It was so loud that figured hole-in-one was as likely as some free spirit yoloing. Then after a minute came more shouting so thought "okay, somebodys having fun". We actually sinked two long birdie putts and third guy lipped out. Hole location was not easy, but turned out the hole had suction as two groups before us they had indeed made two aces, pretty sick. Beat: after the 9. hole there is a bar but no free drinks were had.

Hmm, I'm for sure not wading in the water at my course, unless I wanted to be dragged under.

It's 110 degrees or more in Vegas this week....taking a little break from golf, I think.

Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club - North Course

Score should actually be 82. I doubled the last but marked it wrong.

Yardage was probably 200 shorter than the card because they re-sodded a lot of tee boxes. Case in point I had 6 iron into one of the par 5's and 5 iron into another.

So +3 my first 4 holes, -1 my next 8, +8 my next 6. I totally have this game figured out.

BTW course was awesome. Greens were the fastest I have ever played. If you leave it above the hole good luck. Highly recommend it if you can get a chance to play it. Will be making my top 6.

6:45 am tee time?

Actually, I've played rounds in Vegas at 105 and been completely fine (just need water and sunscreen). Played once in Minneapolis when it was 101 and thought I was going to die. Two of the guys I played with walked and carried their bags, this was back before widespread use of wicking clothes too.

Went off early this morning at 7 am all by myself at Bali Hai today....got the round done by 9:30! Love that.

40-40-80

Weird round. My driver was again a mess. Not sure what's happened to my driver lately, but I feel so uncomfortable off the tee. My approach shots were on fire, though.

Never had a round like this - I didn't have to make one chip. I was mostly on the green. I pitched once and I was in a greenside bunker 3 times. But no chips! Don't think I've ever had a round with no chips before.

Putting was ok. Made one birdie on a par 3.

Had a 16 footer on the q8th for birdie to make 79, but I sent it long left.
