somehow managed to nearly drive the green on a par 4, about 20yds short of the green, 365yds from the tee according to the scorecard. ended up with the ball sitting teetering on the edge of the cup for birdie but it didn't go in, ended up with par. then i just spazzed out the rest of the time, ended up with 135 for the round.

my girlfriend found an old 7 wood in some barn she hangs out at from time to time and i had some luck with that from the fairway. still can't putt for ****.

43-40-83 today from 6,800 yards.

That's my best round of the year and I can count 4-6 easy shots to make up on that. Happy though, hit by far the most fairways in a round all year (9/14) -- the game is much easier when you hit the short stuff.

After my 38 last week I shoot 47 yesterday. First time picking up a club in a week and was able to get a grand total of 3 swings in on the range before the round.

The triples were bad play around one green and hitting a tree and having about 20 yards more for the next shot.

Private course I have never played before. According to the jerseys on the wall of the locker room Vinny Testaverde and Ronde Barber are members there. Tough rough there. Even if you wanted to place your ball it's going to fall right to the roots of the bermuda.

42 points round Mill Ride a new course for me. Played OK a couple of errant shots very few putts made. 3 pars three 3 blobs and the rest in-between.

Vacationland golf, Macatawa Legends GC in Holland, MI. Greens kicked my butt, probably had 43+ putts.

Club Ryder Cup today. Won our better ball and captain and mate matches 2 and 1. Singles tomorrow. Highlight was my ace on #11. 125 yard wedge. Took one hop and disappeared.

That's the second story I have from the weekend. Yesterday playing a charity 4-man scramble. Dogleg right par 5, tee on the card at 475 but it was one box forward and a little downwind. We have 135 in after our last guy busts a good one. Semi-blind second shot over brush. Two balls on green, one left of green...last guy hits a good wedge which hops right, towards the pin, but bushes obscured the hole. We get to green, only see three balls. I go check, and his ball is in the hole for double eagle.

Did the winning team try to claim they got a hole in one on a par5?

Ha. No. We were lumbering around figuring we'd be on pace to maybe be in the first flight. Then he has to go and do that. Couldn't keep anything going. Finished -9. Championship flight winner was -14. First flight winner was -8. To add to the beat, there were no skins in the tourney. Lots of beer though.

I played golf with my friend today who has never once golfed, never hit a ball. He managed to shoot 81.


I did OK, like +8, but I've got my problems. Drives slice all the time (unless I aim so far right (i golf lefty) that it should be fine, but then I randomly hit it straight and it's way right). Also bad at putting, I 3 putt a lot. Stuff to work on.

So just an average weekend then???

Some day I will finally get that elusive ace. Close twice so far this year.

I had 25 points in a two ball better ball. We won some how. He contributed nearly nothing on the front nine and I did the same on the back nine 6 points. Driving way wayward three lost balls, irons were shaky and putting was appalling.

1 birdie, 2 pars, 5 bogeys, 3 Doubles, 5 worse.

46-40-86. 1 birdie, 3 double bogeys.

Just a little off.

Saturday

40-45=85. No birdies, terrible putting. Missed two excellent eagle opportunities only to three-jack them both for par. Missed two or three other strong birdie opps. With a couple of good putts I'm easuily shooting 80-81 here. DAMMIT!

Sunday

44-44=88. Putting wasn't much better but I didn't get as many looks as I did the previous day. My 56 degree was on fire though helping me save 4 good pars. Score could've been much better but I had two triples that cost me an easy 4 shots.

Shot 70 today...

unfortunately that's the number of range balls I hit and not an actual round. Too much tropical moisture again. Really was hitting the driver well though. Was able to launch one over the water range of 275y. Not bad for a floater range ball.

Short game and putting was good today but was spraying the ball so far right off the tee but somehow scrambled my way to a good round.

39 - 35 = 74
26 putts with no 3 putts (+2.78 SGP, so good but not as good as it looks when you see 26)

Tee shots were not good leaving me in some trouble. I would say that only 1 of my tee shots was really bad. I did hit the 3h 265 off the tee today...with 2 bounces off the cart path, right into the hazard.

Was really windy today, like 30 mph sustained and 40 gusts. Was coming from a weird direction and swirling so had to keep backing off shots and most of the holes were cross winds compared to the prevailing wind which most holes are either into or away.

Lost my swing for a bit in the middle of the round then was better towards the end.

Being first off in the am is so nice. Was dark enough when I started that I didn't see tee shot land. Done my 9:30a.

Also shot a 45 playing a new course yesterday. Great course except I was a single and there were at least 4 foursomes ahead of me so no chance to play through. At least that one was free.

Two ball better-ball. We had 46 points and were clubhouse leaders once we finished but there are a lot of people to come in behind us.
I played well, Although this format means you don't putt out on every hole even if I had missed some of the putts I picked up, so-long as I only took only one more to get down Id of had nothing worse then a double bogey all round. Despite my playing well I actually contributed points on relatively few holes because my playing partner was having a great day.

42-46-88. No birdies, several double bogeys.

First cold weather round in a while, it was low 40s when we teed off. Didn't play well.

Didn't play today but got all my stuff ready for fall/winter, bought a bunch of warm golf stuff, rain gear, winter gear ect. Now in 2 months when it is 34 degrees we will see if I am all about golfing still.

After my consistent round yesterday I sprayed it around today and had a number of thinned chips as well.
2 pars, 5 worse then double bogey.
Oh and yesterday one group came in behind us with a point more so we won nothing.
