Shot 45 - 41 for an 86 from the white tees at Tilden Park Golf Course in the Berkeley, CA hills. As you can see, Summer is slowly giving way for Fall! Was nice to finally play a round where it wasn't 90*+.

Drove the ball quite well actually, but was let down with some sub-par iron play. Only one birdie, where I was on in two on a par5 and just ran the 15" eagle putt by the right edge. Still lots of work to be done, but I'm glad with the progress I've made this summer, shaving 6 strokes off my handicap.

Happy Swinging!

A fun downhill par 4, framed beautifully by the treeline and the fog. Grab driver and rip it!

You can't link to files in your gmail. Best suggestion is to download the pic, upload it to imgur and then link to it from there

Shot a 40-33-73. Par 70. My best round of the year, and my first ever 9 holes under par.

Shot 95 for 34 Stablford points.
Poor driving and chipping but I did pitch quite well.

yesterday. this is okay by my standards but i should have done better. the 9 was OB off tee and a 4 putt on a multi-tiered green. didn't play too great but considering that before this year i was struggling to ever break 100 i am okay with a 94 on a meh-ish playing day

i was most happy with how i bounced back from the triple+ holes, sometimes that's an issue for me - not quite melting down, but definitely losing focus and tilting.

Shot a 38 on the front 9 from the blues at a local course. Was like 4 over on the back 9 up until 16 when we called it quits cause we were hungry and I was playing with 2 newcomers. That's not that interesting though - I've got a hilarious story.

So I'm playing with my buddy and his kid. Both complete newcomers to the game. My buddy is letting the kid drive the cart a few holes (he's 11), he's doing completely fine and isn't driving crazy as you would expect. So we finish a short par 3 and I head to the next hole as they straggle behind. The hole has a small bridge that crosses a small creek that was luckily 85% dried up. I get to the tee box, grabbed my driver and took maybe 1 practice swing. Then I hear my buddy "hey!" Waving his hands at me. I see his kid down in the creek and I'm thinking they've found the motherload of lost golf balls or something. I think nothing of it and take another practice swing. "Hey!!!" He yells again and waving. At this time I realize their golf cart is nowhere in sight. I hurry over there to see the guard rail destroyed (2x6 piece of wood attached to 3 small, old metal tubing) and the golf cart in the middle of the dried up creek! lmfao! I couldn't contain myself and burst out laughing, as does my buddy.

They were both fine and so was the cart. The kid was a little embarrassed because he thought he was in big trouble. So me and my buddy get down in the creek and try to get this thing out. Obviously other golfers see us and call in to the clubhouse. The owner (I assume) shows up and is just shaking his head in awe. Luckily he wasn't too mad and let us get another cart and finish our round. Priceless story I will never forget. Kindve bummed I didn't actually see it all as it happened though! I'm sure their facial expressions resembled a 12yr old girl going down the scariest roller coaster in the world. Priceless!

I snapped some pics of the aftermath but I'm on my phone and don't know how to post them.

I've actually golfed at Estrella Del Mar - quite enjoyable actually. Fairways were a lot different than I was used to - not sure if it was out of season or not, but the course was a little raggedy. Definitely hammered a few balls into the ocean though!

A buddy and I did an "Inland Northwest Golf Tour," which included two rounds at Wildhorse in Pendleton, Oregon, a round at Circling Raven in northern Idaho, and a round at the Lewiston Golf & Country Club. I shot the best four rounds of my last decade (although I didn't play for much of it): 77, 82, 80, 80. Might do a longer write up with pictures. If I don't, mark this one for posterity: play Circling Raven if you get the chance. If you're contemplating Coeur D'Alene Resort Course or Circling Raven (as many do, since they're close to one another), play both, but if you can only play one, play Circling Raven.

71st of 72 holes over the weekend:

The second round (fourth of the trip) was at Wildhorse since it was on our way back to Portland. Weren't planning on doing it, but my buddies game was picking up during our third round, and he wanted to keep it going.

Played a singles tourney yesterday and my playing partner (also a co-worker) got a hole in one on the 135 yard 3rd hole. Golf Digest says the odds are 12,500 to 1.

Four holes later I get a hole in one on the 171 yard 7th. Golf digest says the odds of two players in the same foursome getting a hole in one during the same round is 1,300,000 to 1. It was pretty epic!! Not to mention the skins game on the side

29 Stablford points.
I started well with a good drive and a par but by the third hole I was afflicted with a terrible pull hook off the tee. If it hadn't been for several lucky bounces off trees I'd have scored even worse.

Shot 80 at the ritziest club in our area yesterday playing for the first time from the tips! Wasn't nearly as challenging of a course as I thought it would be, and with some course knowledge I feel like I could have been close to par.

25 Stablford points

New course to me lots of bunkers and quite a bit of water really really slow greens though which was a shame. But more disappointing was the way my game completely and utterly feel apart after eight holes. I went from hitting the ball well and not loosing a ball, to topping mid-irons off the tee.

Nice!! I definitely pounded a few into the waves as well haha. I have to say the course was in beautiful shape, particularly the fairways and the fluffy rough which had no resistance and let balls sink right to the ground. Everything was extremely well manicured.

My only complaint would be that some of the greens closer to the ocean had some rough spots. Putting speeds were really inconsistent and made for some interesting reads because there were some dry, sandy patches. Putts along the grains seemed to be rolling on glass, while the uphill putts required a bit extra. The greens, for the most part, were also tiny and didn't give you much to shoot at. It made stopping the ball close even that much tougher.

Overall, I was very happy with the course. I shot a 44 - 40 - 84 (+12). Very good driving and some nice wedge play helped me finish strong with 5 pars on the back. Missing birdie putts is never fun.

A few pics...

The driving range...

Teeing off with the waves crashing in directly over that little sand dune...

The ocean, about five paces off the left edge of the green...

The view from behind the green, looking back on a looong Par 5 with water all the way down the right hand side...

Some very thin lies off the fairway...

52-39 - 91

71.70/131

Pinehills in Plymouth MA

Played the best back 9 of my life. Misread a 9 foot birdie putt that came up a rotation short. And bogeyed a par 5 because of bad course management. Pin was tucked behind a bunker for my 3rd shot from 30 yards out. Could have chipped on and 2 putted for par, but tried a flop shot that squirted right and cost me a stroke. Easily could have been a 37.

Crazy how I went from awful to amazing.

42 (par 35). Annual tough pin event. Very happy with how I played -- only one 4 putt.

Jones or Nicklaus? My parents live down there and I love visiting. Great practice facilities. 52-39?! Reminds me of my 48-36 at Waverly Oaks (5 mins from pinehills) earlier this year
