27-28 for 55 on par 58 little executive course in Atlanta. Fun little gimmick, every hole was about 2-3 times wider then a normal hole making for AJ easy time on the greens.

**** ass range session followed by a **** ass chipping/putting session. Really horrible. But The last week has been a lot of wind and snow so I've been just lifting a lot and gaining a little more weight, and then drinking a decent amount this weekend. Body seems to have completely forgotten how to golf, particularly with the driver that I was hitting so well last week, as well as basic wedge shots. Wedges were really bad. Irons were solid though.

Volleyball and lifting tomorrow, then gonna hit the course Wednesday and Thursday, hopefully with better results.

No official score. Played six holes, hit a few extra shots. Made three birdies. Fun times.

Took me seven tries but I finally broke 80 this year. 78 today with one birdie. I have a new Cobra Amp driver. Hitting drives like a 25 year old today(I am 44).

Easy setup. Didn't play especially well, hit a couple nice irons and putted decently. Should have had back-to-back birds but six footer lipped out.

That's more like it. Hit a big bucket today, did a lot of alignment work and it was easy to correct most of the issues that I've been seeing. Only shanked one wedge (god, a shank, really schu?? Better than 5 shanks like last time though - alignment!) and hit my driver and fairway woods really well. Wedges and short irons weren't particularly accurate, but I should be able to dial them in.

Some of the nicest greens I have found in Southern California and they were nice and soft after the rain. I was able to shoot at a lot of pins and was usually rewarded for my aggressiveness.

Hit the ball pretty well, but couldn't putt to save my life. This apparently has become a thing -- two out of the last three rounds I've been simply awful on the greens. Think I need to put down the irons at the range and go to the green instead. Lagging is particularly bad. Might have to take a look at the ultimate practice routine from dagolfdoc.

Was rushed because I was trying to keep up with a rando with a cart whereas I was walking. Really threw me off. Ballstriking was good though, nothing to complain about.

Mistakes: Every pitch from 20 to 80 yards (I had 5 such pitches that I can recall) I was just clueless on. I flubbed a chip. I 3-putted 4 times. Your short game blows ass, schu. ****ing get to the course and practice son. You ****ing moron. LRN2SANDWEDGE

Do you use a sand wedge for all of those?
Maybe get an lob wedge so that you don't have to cut down on distance.

I have a lob wedge. Don't like to use it unless I need the loft to stop the ball on the green. I don't think I've ever used it for full shots, nor do I think I ever want to.

39-40-79. 1 birdie, 1 double. Played okay, not great. Pretty satisfying to birdie the last hole tho.

Played the same course now, par 36 36 and first round were 41 34 and the other 44 35, thats pretty ridic.

Competition tomorrow, excited and hope to at least go on my handicap which is 73.

44 on front. great ball striking. just didn't make any putts and/or chip/pitch close enough when needed. short game all around needed to work.

49 on back. started out nicely... then some problems with recovery shots and very wayward drives. EDIT: two holes with stupid recovery problems. nice iron on par 3 spun back into water. 4 penalty strokes on 17 and 18.

gotta learn technique on recovery shots. trying to get back in play with some distance.

also have to learn how to get after it on drives but hit it straight. or hit less than driver. have to decide. i am pretty good with very long shots from the fairway for my handicap level.

Shot 108 today, that's right One-Oh-Ate. I finished the season at a 7.5 handicap last year and shot 108 today. My game is just an absurd mess right now

Pretty rough round. First time playing the Black Course and it is pretty difficult as advertised. Not having played in 10 months didn't help. The bunkers are pretty treacherous. Fairway bunkers everywhere and if you happen to miss the fairway bunker you are likely in between them in fescue. You are hitting quite a few approach shots to severely elevated greens all heavily guarded by deep bunkers. Buried one in the face and hit a pretty good shot to get it on the green. Greens were a little wet in the morning as it rained right up until I feed off but then the sun came out and they dried up fast and got quick. They really don't break a whole lot like you would expect a lot of fast greens. Then again the greens are not super undulated or this course could be insanely difficult.

Need to get some more rounds under my belt and from those tees I think I came break 85 later in the summer. That is the goal anyway. Great track.

42-44-86. No birdies, 1 double & 1 triple. Difficult conditions and played poorly

30-40 mph wind gusts this weekend, fun times! played quite well off the tee and with my irons, notice the three straight 3 putts though that was pretty painful

Since the Pens wrapped it up last night decided to stick around and play this morning with an old classmate.
Was my first time even though i lived in PA, RI, and CT until the last couple years.

Really enjoyed it and hope to get back one day.
