43 (par 35). Leisurely nine by myself this evening. Didn't play notably well other than chipping decently for once. A nice walk.

Really happy with how I am driving the ball and putting.
Very pleased with the score as I was still at a poker table 3.5hrs before tee time (4am).
Pulled a couple of approach shots, but was able to get up and down.

Shot in the 90s today, been focusing on keeping my knees still, head still, and keeping the ball of my left shoulder pretty level. I started playing better when I did this. Dropped 5 balls on a par 3 and got within a few inches of a hole-in-one.
The most important swing thought I have now is to keep the left shoulder ball in pretty much the same place, especially at impact, which of course in turn keeps my head from dipping and makes me aware of the bottom of the arc instead of dipping my head like Tiger (current) and trying to jump my head up while I hit. Can't wait to hit some balls tomorrow and see what happens. I'm obsessed with getting better and can't wait to start playing some real golf!! Try that swing thought. The left shoulder joint (ball is a good axis to swing around. My opinion only)

shot 88 on a pretty tough course. very tough front 9. although mostly from the white tees

with the 88, i counted 13 strokes that achieved almost nothing (ie one stroke further and not much better position

great:

putting. 28 putts, only one 3 putt. hammering putts inside 15 feet and taking out break

sand shots. just some great long sand shots

good:

pitch and chip in general. a few duffs though. more shots with less lofted needed

course management

mixed:

tee shots om par 3's... irons in general

poor:

driving. mostly bad. a few amazing ones

terrible: my flop shots were god awful. usually a strength of mine

lesson: no more plastic mat driving range. kills my irons. or at least don't take driver

Hit 6 GIR and shot +1 with a bogey 6 on the reachable last....happy that I could hack it around and still shoot a score but bit pissed at the last

It's been amazing. When they say it goes farther (...further?) they are completely telling the truth. I've gotten about 15 extra yards with it over my old 3 wood, a Nike Sumo Quad-Keel. If you have the chance to try them out i would definitely recommend it.

Played 14 holes today in 35 MPH winds before my brother and I had to head home for easter lunch/dinner. With the wind and punched greens we both played poorly but I ended up losing 4 dollars on the last hole as he made his birdie putt and I missed one of the same length due to the bumpy greens.
I'll win it back this week.

40 / 43 - 83 today

I drove the ball better today than I ever have in my life, it was pretty incredible how I only managed an 83. 18 was 500 downhill and I had a 7 iron, 165 or so to the center of the green for 2. I didn't hit the green but I got up and down for a birddog to win some skins.

Played TPC scottsdale, stadium.

I think it's the nicest I've played in scottsdale forsure. The fairways were very nice, greens rolled nice, the upkeep is amazing.

I don't know if it's b/c I booked same day teetime but only paid 140/player.
Caddy was super cool/nice and helpful. Although I couldn't hit a fairway, use to be my strong game my short game came through.

40-37. Par 5 on back was 480 and had 140 left, but missed the 7 footer for eagle.

played first round of the year yesterday at Hazelmere G&CC, discount rate because they had just punched the entire course and sanded it too. 50-49-99 but we slacked on the greens. overall did better than I expected considering how I finished last season, chipping was awful but driving was pretty great. can't wait to play more

38-44-82. Got off to a great start, GIR and tap in par at 1, 3 footer for birdie on 2 (missed), 4 footer for birdie on 3 (made), great recovery for a GIR and tap in par on 4. Didn't strike the ball well, didn't putt well but held it together enough to have a decent score. Chipping was pretty good although I didn't have to do much of it.

After watching the Masters together yesterday my father in law wants to go play Tour 18 in Houston, which has "replicas" of amen corner, as well as 15 other famous golf holes, like 17 at TPC sawgrass.

Looking forward to it but I heard the rounds are 5-6 hours long. Especially this week. May go Wednesday though.

After playing like absolute **** on Friday, I went out and played today at my home course in MN. 50 degrees with a 15-25 mph all day. Greens are as hard as concrete, being that there hasn't been a lot of rain and it's only April. I turned in 38 after making 3 bogies and 6 pars. Started the back nine with a birdie, went to 11, 415 par 4 straight into the wind. Drive it into a waste bunker, hit a low PW to about 10 feet and sink it. Go to 12, 510 par 5 straight down wind. Absolutely murder my drive about 370 and have a GW into the green, GW bounced over, but I got up-and-down for another birdie. Go to 13, 400 yds. down hill, down wind hit another great drive, have 55 yds. in and end up making par. I end up going into 18 at E and have never broken yet at my home course (still 1.7 Handicap Index). 18 is 450 par 5, hit my approach over the green, knock my pitch to 10 feet and my birdie putt breaks off line and end up parring for 38-33--71. I was pretty happy with it considering the conditions we were playing in and yet I'm still in the pursuit of a sub-par round at Rum River Hills....

This will be my gift to myself once I break 80 more than once. (Live in Houston)

I've never broken 90 but he's itching to go after I told him that 13 at Augusta was my favorite hole so far. I didn't even know they had that hole up there.

Every time I've played this course they've kept us off the back tees and the fairways/greens have been long and slow. Pretty common for TV courses. It's still a nice course, just frustrating when they're charging you full fare. Glad you had a good experience.

The worst is the course they play the Honda on at PGA National. I've played there twice, and both times it has been in absolutely terrible shape, and they still charge $350. Not even a very fun course.

edit: spyglass was in pretty bad shape when we played it this year in December, but Pebble was actually in great shape, which I hear is not always the case.

4. GIR, 2 putts
5. 2 chips, 1 putt

44-54-98 (par 71)
52-57-109 (par 70)

9 good holes (personal best on that particular nine) followed by 27 crappy ones. No 3-putts the first 18 holes, then 6 (plus two 4-putts!) on the last 18. Last nine holes I chipped in on #1 from about 40 feet, sank a 25-footer from the fringe on #9, and had 20 putts on the other 7 holes. I could tell fatigue was setting in toward the end of the round--played cricket on Sunday, soccer last night, and by the end of walking 36 my feet were killing me. I shouldn't feel this old at 25.

I can't even ride 36 in a day even if the course was empty. Oh to be 8 years younger. Just you wait, pelican. lol. Also I always assumed you were older... the 86 makes sense now.

amazing start which is rare. some course management errors and some bad luck and my game completely unravelled.

46-51, which is far too high and the reverse of the nine's difficulty

have been mixing matching clubs, geips etc. now going to go with one set-up. should help.

frustrating that 3 straightnrounds have been all over the place in terms of what's great vs. terrible. sand and lag putting had been great. but not yesterday. greens speeding up with good weather so maybe just adjustment period

irons were really, really good. hit a very good one on maybe 13 to 14 holes

gonna tee driver higher and figure out why i hit 3i-4i brilliantly but not driver or 3 wood. maybe figure out how to sting 3w and 2h... keep ball in fairway as prime goal

There's an old guy at my course (probably 70ish) who I've played with a few times and he says he walks 27-36 holes fairly often. And there's a handful of other guys his age I see walking at my course every now and then. I hope and pray I can still walk & golf when I'm 70 and up.

It's my upper body that starts to tighten up after too many holes and nerve/muscle pain near my left shoulder blade that I've had for years stemming from a baseball injury. Legs/walking part is fine.

I met a recently retired ~65 year old man last year on the course. He plays around 200-250 rounds a year (in canada, that's quite a feat) and walks every single one of them. That's some serious mileage for an older dude.

44-46-90 on par 71. 30 putts. 3 balls OOB, 7 on 1 par 3 hole without getting OOB, could have been an insane round.

Then an hour with the coach, it some group coaching thing, 100 $ for the year, and you can show up twice a week.

Then the har back nine again 45 par 36 for +9, with 13 putts.

Ive been 40+ putting lately so very nice, also HCP adjustment to 21,7 today.
