Handicap question. Dont no how to work it out on them sites..

Say my last 5 scores are:

103
101
92
99
99

On Course:

Par 72 - 6300 yards - SSS 73

Roughly what handicap would it give?

45-51-96 (par-70)

6/14 fairways, 2 GIR, 7 GIR+1
5 pars, 4 bogies, 5 doubles, 4 triples
30 putts

Hooked the crud out of my driver on the range pre-round. First tee has a big transmission power line tower blocking the right side of the fairway; if you hit it, you have to replay the shot. Sure enough, I hit a push hook, and the ball comes back toward the tee, lands on the tee box, and rolls to about five feet away from me. Didn't even have to get a ball out of my pocket, just picked it up and re-teed. (Next one was a lower hook, but not as far to the right, skipped off the cart path, ended up in the fairway for about a 200-yard drive. LOL.) Hit a 6-iron solid but pushed it and couldn't get it to draw back enough and missed just right of the green; chipped to four feet and sank the putt for par.

And that pretty much set the tone for the day. Terrible with the driver, solid with the mid-long irons, bad with short irons, good chipping & putting. I think I had five chips/pitches inside of 4 feet. Missed two four-footers, but other than that and one 3-putt I rolled it well. Sank a 28-footer and a 13-footer and barely missed two from 12-13 feet.

Best shot of the day was probably a 8-iron from the rough with a slight uphill/ball above my feet lie, 150ish out, over some trees. Ended up pin-high and gave me a 13-footer for birdie. Just missed it on the low side.

I'm pleased with the score but it's still frustrating that I'm driving it so poorly. I even tried taking it easy, but that just led to 150-yard snap hooks instead of 200-yard snap hooks. On the plus side, I was hitting them on the ground so much that some of them didn't have time to roll out of the fairway. Also, I had a ton of bad shots when I had wedges into greens. Really annoying to have a gap wedge in my hands and miss it 20 yards right or short or long or left (and yes, I think I missed gap wedges in all of those directions today).

But looking at my score, I guess this proves that you can hit it awful as long as you have short-game rungood...I mean skill.

Played a lil twilight golf today. Lifted hard yesterday so I was sore and stiff as **** and didnt play well. But, I did drive and eagle a 325 yd par 4 so that was exciting. Despite that, still shot +2 on the 9

Trip report from Myrtle Beach/ Pawleys Island...

Played 10 rounds in 6 days, and spent just around $350 on golf, including an $85 round at Caledonia, which is just an incredible track.

Started off with a 77 at Tradition, with 4 birdies...began the round bogey, par, bogey, and then really got it going. My wedges were really good from 50-100, and I gave myself a ton of birdie chances, but my chipping and pitching from around the green were terrible. I just could not get my landing spot down, and it seemed like the greens were extremely firm on the short game side. My low checkers werent checking up on the third bounce and I pitched through the green several times.

82, 89 @ Willbrook Plantation.
77, 82 @ Tradition
81 @ Caledonia
82 @ The Wizard
79 @ Man O' War
81 @ Wedgefield
66,64 @ Tupelo Bay (Lighted Par 3 course, Par 58)

Caledonia will always be my favorite, due to the old world charm that the course has, with old trees and azaleas. I was also really impressed with The Wizard and Man O'War...thought they were really fun courses that had a great balance, and were very fair. We played the back nine at Man O' War in thunder, lightening and pouring rain, but it ended up being alotta fun, as it was our last round so we werent getting off the course. Played the last 7 holes at -1, in the rain, which seemed like some of the best golf Ive played.

Great trip all in all...cant wait til November to go back.

41-46 - 87..par 72

First time breaking 90! Front nine had 4 pars and 5 bogeys..best 9 ever. double bogeyed 10 and 11 and was like RUT ROH.. but i got it together and finished with 5 bogeys and a par.

Really been focusing on course management and trying to take bigger scores out of play..startin to pay off.

Congrats on you new lowest score! Course management is key to lower scores. Punching it out when your in the trees instead of trying to hit the once in a lifetime shot will go far. I used to love in the ATL and worked at the CC Of the South. Great courses and great weather.

Of only 5 scores it would take your ONE lowest, which is a 92. Then we need the rating/slope information (unless SSS is another word for that I don't know) but it might look like 71.6/118 or something. Rating/slope info. of the specific tee you played from. Do some math with that and multiply by .96 and voila. Looks like you'd be around a "19.2", assuming a 72/113 (average) rating/slope.

Of course if you are gambling you would be pretty foolish to not bargain for more strokes, based on your scores.

Here's a link. I'm assuming you are in the USA. If a Euro then your HC will be higher as I think they use all scores as source data. And not just best 10 of last 20. Or best 1 of 5 in your case. It steps up the more rounds you log.

Ended up playing 10 and 20$. My partner was 70 and we ended up shooting 75 for a pretty good scramble score. We ended up winning 50$ which could have been a lot more.
My best shot of the day was a drivable 287 yard par 4 and I stuck it with in 10 feet and missed the eagle putt = ( But I tee off again in 7 hours for same scramble.

been playing quite a lot recently averaging around 80ish, I have a question I play off 27, Now I don't think I've played in a comp since the end of last year which I have vastly improved, I want to start playing in matches vs other clubs but i feel playing off 27 is redic....there is no comp at my club till mid April, my question is can I enter 3 new score cards and get them to adjust my handicap?

Thanks in advance

41+45 = 86 for 43 Stableford points

1 Birdie, 6 Pars, 8 Bogey, 1 Double, 2 Worse

4/14 FIR, 2 GIR, 27 Putts

Only the second time I have broken ninety round this course and only one shot off my best ever score so I'm very happy with it.
A bit of an odd round. Because a society were on the first tee we started on the eleventh. I felt tired and woolly headed and had abandoned all hope before we started.
I managed to scramble two bogeys before taking nine on the thirteenth by dint of hooking two balls into the thorny bushes off the tee. My low expectations meant I didn't care and managed to go par, par, bogey, par, bogey, birdie, bogey, par, bogey, par, par, bogey, before we got caught up in the traffic of the society and had to play at a snails pace. My second shot on the eighth was a three wood that went right, fortunately for me they had cut down all the knee high rough that's usually there. I chipped out but missed the green with a pitch and took three from where the fringe meets the semi-rough. I had a big stroke of luck on the next hole my drive went right and I decided to lay up but a complete miss hit moved the ball forward twenty feet. The lucky part was hitting a tree at the back of the green with my third shot and falling straight down to just off the green. On the last hole I took too much club and had to take a penalty drop from an unplayable lie my pitch was long but my return chip lipped out and I sunk the putt for my one double bogey of the round.
Putting was much better the usual nine single putts and no three putts unless you count putts from off the green in which case I had one three putt.

Thanks! I just have a much better sense now of where the hazards are and how to avoid them. Aiming to different sides of fairways/greens...not always going flag hunting...clubbing up or down to take bunkers/water out of play. Logical stuff that i never paid attention to.

Yea I love it down here. This winter was amazingly mild.

Shot a 92 my last round, which is 2 shots off my best score ever (been playing 2 years).

Was very excited, hit my irons MUCH better than I ever had before. I feel like this is the first time I'm starting to "get" what is actually supposed to happen in the golf swing.

For some reason I continue to slice my driver even though most of my iron misses are pulls left. I also suck at putting, chipping, etc.

But I am excited about working on all these things, I honestly think 2012 is the year I can become a passable golfer if I work hard enough. My goal is to break 85 and then to be able to shoot in the low-mid 80s consistently.

I live in Houston and want to play golf real bad this weekend but the Shell Houston Open is in town and I can't pass that up. I hate that feeling when you feel like you are going to make a breakthrough at the course but you can't play.

34-43. Rustic Canyon, Moorpark, CA. 3/29.

Amazing round for me. Beat my previous personal best, 80, by 3. Beat my low nine on the front by 6. I won't go hole by hole but things got to an unreal start by eagling the 512 yd par 5 1st with a 30 yd hole out. Then 5 pars, bogey 7th, par 8th, and a crazy birdie on 9 that was the result of a 70 ft. hard breaking left to righter.

Back 9 was solid but not magical like the front. Best part was my friends' "WTF is going on here" reactions throughout the day. Shooting 80s and low 90s is usually the norm. I thought I'd work my way up to breaking 80 one day. This was like a lightning strike.

44 / 44 - 88 today.
Hit the ball incredibly well tee to green, but made a mess of about half my first putts today and subsequently 3 putted a whole bunch of greens. Chipping was also lol bad; I hate how long it takes to get feel back after taking the winter off.

This is not a surprise, these are basically the exact same miss with one small variable, in both you come over the top and start the ball left, if you square up the clubface (timing issue basically) you will hit a straight pull, if you don't get it squared up (which is harder to do with a driver / any longer club) you will hit a slice.

73, the Farms in RSF
Solid 27 putts
Mostly because my mid-irons were off and was chipping a lot
Thinking about going to get fitted for a new set as I've had my Titleist MB for 5+ years.
Anyone in SD have a recommendation on where to get fitted ? I'm new to the area.

There is a taylormade performance lab at aviara...for general / all brands unsure. They often do demo days at Stadium golf

Not sure if I want to switch brands or not. Maybe a demo day would be good, or I may talk to the pro at the club.

Brag: Shot 78!

Beat:

Spoiler:
12 holes before we ran out of light.

Played consistently terrible. Hit, like, 4 good shots all day. I'm pretty terrible at golf. I'll break 100 some day though.
