Its true i play by the rules and count all penalty strokes. Force myself to sink all putts. If it had been a tournament it still would have been 104 although one hole i accidently teed off from the whites instead of the greys, so maybe that would have techinically been a penalty.

I mean im frankly disgusted that people would cheat at golf, although im sure it happens.

I am going to working with Geoff Jones (Slicefixer) in a month. Given my complete lack of talent in golf, this will be a very good test of his teaching ability and how much talent matters in golf.

Played 18 again today. Pretty bad.

Shot 58-56-114 though had blow-ups on 3 holes so with ESC it was a 108.

Starting to get some touch back with my lob wedge. Need to stop mashing my 3 foot putts. I'm picking a line and hammering it home and missing. lol. Lagged fairly well today though, much better than yesterday.

Best shot probably a lob wedge from well off the green on a par 3 that rolled 4" under the hole and settled 3 feet from it.

Super windy again 1-2 club wind. Both par 5s are straight into the ****ing wind. Wish they had 1 in the other direction. Kinda miserable.

Like I said would be interesting to read shot by shot sometime, you can miss every green and break 90

Started well with three good full shots a chip and a putt for par. My irons where going higher and longer and I felt that I might be in with a chance of putting a score together.
Horrible pitching on the next two holes set the tone and I throw a ton of shots away around the greens. Then on the eighth I had mysteriously lost a ball despite clearly seeing it land. After that my long game began to get as shaky as my short and everything was bad.

Wish I could play golf right now... too cold

Drove and lagged really well for me. Short game still rusty, and short putts rusty. Starting to get good with my 4w off the fairway on the par 5s. Parred a par 5 today for what seems like first time in a long time.

Slammed home a perfectly rolled 3 footer straight for birdie on a short (364) par 4. Had 2 good holes in a row.

#15 was a 153 yard par 3 into the wind. Think I hit a 7 or 6 iron but pulled it from the tee and it landed over a dune but playable. Well left of the green though. Lob wedge from there to..... ? I forget how many feet then sank the putt. I want to say it was 6-10 feet out but really don't recall. So a tough up and down for par there. Then onto #16

#16 was a 364 yard par 4 with a creek about 280 out. Used the big dog but swung easy and of course crushed it straight but pulled a bit left (which is the shortest distance to the creek). Got up there and was dry and in bounds but resting 98 yards out into the wind and with green way up on the other side of creek maybe 10-15 feet up in elevation. Ball resting a few inches above my feet but sitting up nicely on some thick burnt out grass blades. I grabbed a P-wedge and took a firm 3/4 swing and hit a perfect trajectory shot that plopped down pin high 3 feet left of the hole. Went up and slammed it home (no break) for the legit bird. It makes shooting triple digits worth it... nice little par-bird back to back holes.

10-finger driver grip working wonders for my game. Only 3 "bad" drives. Two straight shots but pulled left off the tee ended up far out there but playable and 1 high slice that was also playable. No shanks first time in a long time. Just feel like I have a sense of the club face at all times through my swing with this grip. Also using 10-finger on the 4w from the fairway but interlocking everything else.

My shot that I used to be most comfortable with was a little SW chip from off the green. Somehow the layoff made me lose touch with this shot but I think with some reps I can get back to comfortable. Just not accelerating through it like I had been. Was lagging well so had to start putting from the fringe and even off the fringe sometimes. At least that worked well.

HC "down" .1 points to 28.2. About to shoot up though. Got a 24 coming off the books next time out. Maybe I can replace it or do better....

For me I had a save the scorecard day on a very very difficult course

Emerald Hills in Hollywood Florida (yards 6,563/course rating 72.2/slope 136)

...which included the obligatory 3 putt from 2.5 feet

...also was on a cold windy day while playing a metal bet against 7 decent golfers so there were absolutely no gimmes (only 1 other player broke 90)

...and (at 53) I am a relatively short hitter so I have to bomb two shots just to have a chance to reach about 5 of the par 4's in regulation (as well as the difficult par 5 18th)

Bad drive into wind on short par 4. Took 2 Rescue (my 175 yard club) from 160 (into wind, green severely elevated) and just launched it in the air to middle of green

170 yards into wind used 2 Rescue again and almost landed in hole. But ended up on wrong side. Tapped my 18 foot birdie putt and it went 12 feet past for a 3 putt

Putted great most of rest of round saving a lot of pars.

Hole 17

190 par 3 into wind, over water with OB on right. The green is like a table top in front, on left side and on right side i.e. balls roll off when 6 feet from edge of green. It is the death hole to many good rounds (as well as the 15th, 16th and 18th holes.) Hit my 3 wood to 15 feet

First bird on a par 5. 488 par 5 drilled a drive dead center of fairway. 4 wood off the deck went a bit right but good distance. Left with sand wedge to flag. Greenside bunker between me and flag I just got it over and a couple feet onto the green, leaving me 22 feet for bird. Slight uphill putt but constant slope and no real left/right break. Just a straightforward putt and it died in the cup. Ball was dying just left of the hole and hit the lip and tumbled into the cup. Sick! Fist-pumper.

Think I stopped concentrating after this..... rest of my round was kind of free-spirited.

Lot of penalty strokes. A few iron shots that just barely went into water (saw them and pulled them out). And 2 wayward drives one that went oob so I re-teed, and another landed in a lake so I re-teed.

Handicap went up .8 strokes as I had a really good round come off the books. Striking the ball pretty well though, especially the 4 wood from the tee and off the deck.

Almost birdied a par 3 when I came up well short and was left with a 54 foot uphill putt from the fairway grass. Normally this far out I use the lob wedge but the slope was consistent and the grass was pretty flat so I decided to putt. Ball went just left of the hole and settled 6" past. Would have been a sick bird. Ah well. Tap in pars are nice.

28 Stablford I picked up on the 12th so no score returned.

Started well but I thinned a pitch on the third which turned out to be the first of many. My Driving also cost me points and lost balls. Unusually for me I lost it in both directions.
Around the turn I tried to fix my swing and it all fell apart. Thankfully I was able to go back to using the one I started with and it was only three costly holes.
34 Putts looks quite bad but I had a lot of longish first putts.

Ball-striking wasn't great on the front, but I putted lights-out. 12 putts including sinking a 24-footer to get up-and-down from a bunker on a par-3. Also sank a 10-footer and went 7/7 inside 6 feet.

Drove it pretty well on the back, fading it pretty consistently and hitting the first four fairways. Starting pulling/drawing it on the last few holes, though. I could've had a really great score on the back--I started off with 4 bogeys, then back-to-back pars, then blew up with an 8 and a 10 on the next two holes. FML. Bounced back with a nice par to finish, though.

Shot a 68 today at a par 3 in MA which is my best round for this course (28-30 handicap). Was 55 degrees out which is amazing for this area at this time. Shot 6 pars, 1 birdie, 8 bogies, and 2 doubles and a 6, slowly improving and hoping to get my handicap to 18 or less this year

92 at TPC at Harding Park. great driving poor irons. the blues which are pretty,far back. and yes, they call it TPC now. could easily have been mid to high 80's but stuff got away from me.

been getting more and more distance on drives but i think it's leading to flip. not hitting or staying down on ball with irons (ie driving swing is affecting iron swing)

England's in the grip of a cold snap and the ground was frozen solid. I had to use those rubber tees that sit on the turf. Played Match play because the conditions meant no one was going to score well. I was three down after three but fought my way back to one up on the fourteenth. Despite my trying to throw it away on the last three holes my opponent couldn't capitalise and matched me miss hit for miss hit.

And that includes one lost tee shot, three lip-outs from 15-21 feet (one of them on the last hole), and two balls in the water on #17. Highlights included a chip-in (for bogey, lol) from 30 yards on #15 and a 21-foot left-to-right putt for a birdie on #16.

Really pleased with the round. Drove the ball decently, had a high draw working pretty well for about half of the round. Wasn't going too far (probably due to the ground being soggy), but reasonably consistent. All 4 of the GIRs came on par-4s after hitting the fairway and then hitting good second shots (one 9-iron, one full lob-wedge, one half-wedge from 60ish, one short pitch from a few yards off the green). Usually when I have a couple GIRs it's because I lucked into them on par-3s, but that wasn't the case today. Short game was pretty good, no major screw-ups. Putting was very good aside from two missed putts from 3-4 feet.

I haven't really been focused on trying to break 90, but now that I'm this close it has to be a big goal. Mostly I'm trying to shave another 3 strokes off my handicap. Trending handicap is down to 26.9 at the moment.

40-34 on my home course in the wind today. I made maybe 3 good swings all day. I've played more during this Winter in North Alabama than since I was a kid but I've still gotten progressively worse the last two months. I just show up and play, no range or short game work so I guess I should just be happy to be out.

Nice round Pelican. Draining a bomb from 20+ feet for birdie is an awesome feeling! Keep focusing on executing good shots and your HC will plummet before you know it.

Oh, okay, fine. 35 for 6 holes. Played 6 at a local course that had 11 holes open. It's Michigan, it's ****ing February, any golf is bonus golf. I couldn't believe it they even let carts out! We walked - behind an eightsome in carts, lol. Even better, it was only $8.

Had a stretch of 4 holes with 13 total putts. I just don't have any ****ing clue out there on the green. Complete AIDS.

Anyway I guess not a terrible round considering how badly I putted, it's a 71.1/122 course which is tougher than most I play. Conditions were soggy and greens were full of ball marks. Chipping was terrible as I kept digging out mud by hitting them fat. Blew up a par 3 with an 8 where I hit my tee shot short into some mud then chipped it 3 damn times to get on the green then 4 putted from there as I was just laughing maniacally at that point but did keep a legit score there. Turned around and chucked that ball into the lake.

Annnnyway driving was terrific. Baseball grip is working wonders for me as the last 3 rounds I've been 42.9%, 50% and 64.3% Sacrificing a little distance but no horrific drives and it's been pretty easy to keep them in the fairway with a slight fade. Crazy that I played so bad beyond that. Had so many par 4 approach shots with a perfect line to the flag hitting a 9I or wedge and still would walk away with bogey or double. Disgusting.

Only 1 water ball on a wedge approach shot that hit right of the green and kicked down into the water. 2 bunkers. 1 was a fairway bunker that I tried to pick it out of cleanly with a 6I to the green but skulled it and it hit the lip then bounced up and settled in the fairway leaving me an 8I still to the flag.

Other bunker was greenside I was laying 2 and had about 30 yards to the flag so I basically tried to hit it as hard as I could while keeping a quiet lower half and hit a perfect out to 4' then sunk the putt for par. That was best shot of the day.

Hitting my fairway wood well. Almost reached a par 5 in 2 after a nice drive left of the fairway on a berm. Was left with a ball a few inches below my feet and some tall grass so had no idea if my FW wood could make any kind of good contact but my round was already ruined so I like to really go for it in these spots. Somehow ripped it low and it stayed left (water right of green) and rolled up and settled in tall fairway grass about 20 yards short of green. Got on in reg then 3 putted of course. lol.

Was weird on the front 9 my irons kept landing a club too short (normally I'm not "that guy" who doesn't take enough club). At the turn I just decided to adjust my yardages a club or two and naturally every iron shot was going a club too far. Great.

Had a par 3 170 yards my normal club is a 6I there for a tee shot but this was after the turn so I grabbed the 5I and flew the green, landing just past the green (but right over the flag of course) then kicking down the hill. That was frustrating. I suppose I could have been making a bigger turn to compensate in addition to taking more club but normally my distances are pretty consistent.

I played so bad today I got home and guessed my score to be around 115 (I don't look at it while playing) then found it was only 105. Amazing what staying out of penalty and sand does for you...
