i hate to make a long putt for a 6 on a par 3. one thing about golf is one bad shot can set you up for so much more trouble. then i completely unnecessarily hit a tree branch on the next hole. hitting through the tree really provided no potential benefit (lay up to 70 yards vs. 100 yards, arguably the 100 yards is in fact better)

41-43-84.

Pretty average round. Score was only as good as it was due to some good bounces and fairly decent putting. Really struggling with the ball striking. Hit a handful of nice shots but have no consistency. Several really ugly pull hooks off the tee.

I shot 77 today, a skoooooooooooooooooo.

Check this though - 9/14 fairways, 6/18 greens, 28 putts. Hit my driver really well but didn't hit one solid shot with a 4 or 5-iron. I was just off the greens on the fringe on some holes, but none were really close enough to effect the putting number. Might have been the best putting day of my life, I made just about everything inside of 10 feet. Still need some iron work, but if I can get everything down I should be able to start putting up some sick scores.

Played 36 today in 95 degree heat at World Woods in Brooksville FL (#2 and #7 rated courses in Florida). Shot 92 & 97

The greens were insane. The rolling oaks course (people say it resembles agusta) had massive undulation and they were pretty quick. And the pine barrens course (made to resemble pine valley) I couldnt get a read correct they had so many subtle nuances.

Anyways shot 92 on rolling oaks and 97 at pine barrens. With 36 and 40 puts respectively. The bunkers were like hitting out of almost dry concrete and Pine Barrens is nothing but waste bunkers lining every fairway and green of 17 holes. I cant get out of hard sand its ridiculous.

Hit everything pretty well other than puts and bunker shots but my brain started to melt after the 30th hole and I just couldnt think. Had one blow up hole that was due to a really poor decision. Took a 9 on a par 5 because I was stupid and tried to reach it in 2 from 210 out with a very small elevated green and heavily bunkered where i proceeded to chunk a 5 wood into the waste area about 110 out. Then I tried to lift a PW over the trees that I know I cant get over then took 2 shots just to punch out sideways from under the tree where i wound up back in the waste area (this time w/ a shot at the green) then I pitch on and 3 put for a 9.

It was a fun day though.

58 - 49 - 107 on a 6,145 (white tees) still a lifetime best! Front is 35, back 37.

95-98 degrees and first time walking 18. Been ultimate practice routining alot since black friday and had my first lesson this week, so doing a lot of things differently today. I'd typically hit around 140 previously. Last weekend hit 53 walking this front nine.

Everything blew up on the front; 3 penalties, 5 three puts, bad striking high or low from the tees & fairways. Misjudged a ton of short-game shots that I'm actually pretty good at, when I'm aiming at the right spot. **** the bed on my only bunker of the day.

Back 9 was better; went with irons on some tight fairways, hit some beautiful clutch shots, and tried to "manage" a respectable score for the day. Had three notable shots that had to go beneath trees without much margin for error left or right; de-lofted a 5, 6, and...3! and hit them all pretty much perfectly, which is nice since I've never really practiced that shot. Lag puts were much better than the front. No three puts, but did not sink anything beyond six feet either.

Throughout, driver & woods were terrible. Couldn't hit them cleanly, & when I did significant slice, usually. 4-7 irons were working really well. 3 iron was terrible (except for that one punchout) and it's usually one of my best. Short game was disappointing, even on the back every chip was short.

I'm disappointed, but really I'm still learning and not yet even taking full swings, so I should concentrate on the stuff that went well today, I guess.

Will be sore from the walking, but may try to break 100 tomorrow.

Shot a 46 today on 9 holes. Would have had a 44, but I went out of bounds on the last hole. This was probably my best round of the year. I still have some things to do better, but I was feeling pretty good.

I was hitting my driver straighter than ever. Midgame is getting better. Short game got a lot better. I took my dad's LW and 58 to practice with them since I was having trouble chipping with my PW. On Hole 3 (Par 4) I used the 58, went over a sand trap and rolled it about 2 feet away. On Hole 8 (Par 3) I went left of the green. Then I took the LW and flopped it on and it rolled within about a foot. Definitely like it alot.

And my putting is getting a lot better.

On the plane back from a trip to Kohler. Whistling Straits is fantastic. Of the courses I've played, it's maybe second to Pebble (I haven't played *that* many great courses). The others we played (Irish and River) I thought were tricked up/gimmicky and at times just ridiculous, but Whistling Straits is a freaking work of art, visually intimidating yet stunning, but in reality very fair. I shot 92 from the greens (middle set of 5 tees, 6500 yds?) on a freezing cold June morning in Wisconsin (goddammit it was 93 degrees on Wednesday!), and played with a 4 who shot a 90 and a 12 who shot 92 (I am a 17), so I was very pleased, although if I could putt it would have been in the mid 80s. But I can't putt. So it wasn't. Because I suck at putting.

54 - 53 107

Played a course I have not played in years and it definitely cost me on a couple holes but some of these scores are just not acceptable...

2 9s
6 7s
and 5 3putts -- Ive changed where I put the ball in my stance so that I catch it a little on the upswing which gives me a smoother roll but its messed up my speed and I rolled a couple passed the holes by 7-8feet.

I was just awful through parts and I was so in my head after taking a lesson Thursday and I hit some of the worst shots at points...

but once I said **** it and eliminated over thinking and part of my practice routine I started hitting a couple fairways on nice bombs, and hit a 7i on a 160yd par 3 well over the green.

18 was the best of both worlds, hit the fairway and left myself a 160yd shot that I smashed a 7i onto the green but I literally left the biggest ball mark I have ever seen from one of my shots and only got 2 feet of roll/bounce leaving me a 25+ foot uphill putt that I of course 3putt bogey

But again I feel better about my game and if I can just stay out of my head Ill be just fine

Played 9 with my Dad and one of his buddies today and shot 36 from the white tees. 4/7 fairways, 3/9 greens, 11 putts. Rolled it superb once again, I was -1 through the first 7 holes after I sank a long birdie putt on the first hole. Three of the greens I missed were just off on the fridge, including a LW that landed pin high and never spun back. Of course, they've decided to aerify the greens again tomorrow, so gg putting pace. Running bad as far as getting some swings up, hopefully I can get the video I need tomorrow.

44-46-90. Posting some huge ****ing numbers. Had a 9, an 8, a 7 and some other garbage. Getting real tired of having no idea where anything is going.

Finished strong though. Last two holes are both ~ 420 yard par 4s.

17: Terrible pulled drive into trees, majestic half-blind hooked 3 hybrid out of the trees over water to back of green, routine 2 putt par.

18: Terrible pushed drive, rejected by trees back into fairway. Left with 250 in and a sharp dogleg, obviously can't reach. Best iron shot of the day, cut 1 iron to 50 yards, SW to 10 feet, make putt.

I really suck at golf right now.

Besides, it's a old Eye2, which means the specs are a lot like a modern 3 iron.

i have a really old Northwestern Shot Saver (lol at that) 1 iron that i will stick in the bag on range trips just for lols, thing is so hard to hit and any shot not pured rattles your hands...can't imagine growing up having to learn with clubs like that, would have been a nightmare

I can't even hit my Ping Eye2 2-iron I have from my old set. 1-iron seems really dangerous.

Planning to sign up for some lessons. For the past 10 round.. I have had terrible swings for half those rounds where every drive is a 200 yard banana slice and many iron shots go short right - shoot 100ish. Had a couple good rounds in the low 90s where I hit about 50% fairway with good distance for me and much straight iron shots. Getting really frustrated and feel helpless when every drive is short and in the rough.

18 holes, country club in the ghetto part of Michigan, some scenery were lol but interesting but overall great course and fenced off will play again. Shot 88 pretty good round considering its rated one of the toughest courses in Michigan.

Great 2nd shots to the green/chipping along with quite good driving. Skulled it once all day chipping < 30 yards while everything else ending up < 15 feet of the hole all day.

Uphill putting I would f'in murder the ball 8-12 feet past the hole for some stupid reason, mostly ending in a 3 putt. Was terrible no-idea what I was thinking on some putts. **** putting lol.

15-20 foot putts were terrible. Thank god I was making the 4-5 footers when I needed 'em.

Took a week off because I tore up my left index finger pretty good. I feel better now than before I got hurt. Lots of potential since my driver is going so far, I just need to hit some better irons and tighten my short game a little.

maybe a 52 degree wedge would help your short game?

Shot 76 at a course (not home) rated 71.6

Very good since it was one shot better than my hdc of 6 extra shots, on a tournament setup with rock hard and very fast greens.

I hit the ball sweet all day but inconsistency plus blind shots on front nine resulted in a couple of loose ones and a place not to be. But also got lucky with 2 shots way of over the trees. All in all turned in well deserved +5.

Back nine was sick. All fairways, all greens and all 2 putts for 9 straight pars, LOL.

Was in Lake Placid for a bachelor party so a buddy and I slid up there early to play the Links course at the Crown Plaza.

37-42/79...Played real solid off the tee, got hot with the putter on the front 9 and just kept the ball in play. Great start to a real fun weekend.

I played that Lake Placid course three years ago. Such awesome scenery. I hope to go back at some point.

What bachelor party activities did you partake in?
