58 - 49 - 107 on a 6,145 (white tees) still a lifetime best! Front is 35, back 37.
95-98 degrees and first time walking 18. Been ultimate practice routining alot since black friday and had my first lesson this week, so doing a lot of things differently today. I'd typically hit around 140 previously. Last weekend hit 53 walking this front nine.
Everything blew up on the front; 3 penalties, 5 three puts, bad striking high or low from the tees & fairways. Misjudged a ton of short-game shots that I'm actually pretty good at, when I'm aiming at the right spot. **** the bed on my only bunker of the day.
Back 9 was better; went with irons on some tight fairways, hit some beautiful clutch shots, and tried to "manage" a respectable score for the day. Had three notable shots that had to go beneath trees without much margin for error left or right; de-lofted a 5, 6, and...3! and hit them all pretty much perfectly, which is nice since I've never really practiced that shot. Lag puts were much better than the front. No three puts, but did not sink anything beyond six feet either.
Throughout, driver & woods were terrible. Couldn't hit them cleanly, & when I did significant slice, usually. 4-7 irons were working really well. 3 iron was terrible (except for that one punchout) and it's usually one of my best. Short game was disappointing, even on the back every chip was short.
I'm disappointed, but really I'm still learning and not yet even taking full swings, so I should concentrate on the stuff that went well today, I guess.
Will be sore from the walking, but may try to break 100 tomorrow.
