Slope can go up to a max of (I think) 160 which would be in the Bethpage Black or Torrey Pines (during a US Open setup) category.
Each tee at a course has a different slope as length is one of the factors, but they also factor in the handicap and abilities of someone playing from the appropriate tees. Such as, if a 10 handicap hits the ball 240, is there trouble at 240 (bunkers, smaller fairways, etc) from the correct tees?
thanks, i will take some more time to check it out via google now that i'm at home again

yup, i'm from alberta, but way the hell up north. it was a treat for me to play something other than the local course.
i'm not sure if you have played the courses in the fairmont area before, but if you haven't you are in for a great time. very scenic courses, and i was treated really well by all the staff.
next year i will make a point of booking more tee times in advance, was not able to golf at a few of the courses because of poor planning by me. definitely going back there to golf in the future, and hit some of the courses i missed
