42/50-92 this Sunday.
Played Silver Lakes on Sunday. Really nice course with outstanding greens, just a beauty to putt on. Really stunk it up today, I think I hit 2 fairways all day. Sliced a few drives, pushed a few more, didn't hit my 3wood well when I needed to. I made back to back 30 foot putts on 8 and 9 though, and dominated the par 3s. I was -2 on the par 3s; i hit two of the par 3 tee-shots to within 5 feet.

I did play 5 of the last 6 days though, I think I need a break, I was exhausted by Sunday's round.

53/47 for 100 on the number yesterday at Silverwing Golf Course. Links style, tee shots were not great but they were playable. Irons were fairly average, throw in my fair share of shanks but they were also manageable and didn't punish me too badly. Biggest waste of strokes was my putting -- I actually heated up decently on 9 and hit something like 6 straight greens in regulation, but 3-putted or worse on every single one.

43-49/92 at Hollywood Country Club in NJ...One of the harder courses Ive played in my life, so was very happy to score where I did.

Had 5 one putts, but also a quadruple, a triple and two doubles which really killed me, especially on the back.

88 (47)(41) Par 70

Was driving the ball 280-330 on the first few holes. then the driver fell apart on 7-9 and ended up going double, triple, double on those holes. Hit 6i in the middle of the fairway on the back 9 and just kept the driver in the bag. Aside from one 4 putt, it was a pretty solid back 9 imo.

This morning I played Costa Mesa Country Club, the Mesa Linda course. It is a par 70 with a whopping 5,486 yards of length. I have played once in the last month, so I was looking forward to this ridiculously easy but fun track. I struggled through the first nine shooting a one over 36 but got off to a hot start on the back. On the back nine I went birdie, eagle, par, par, par, par, eagle, par, birdie, for a 29. Shooting 29 hasn't really sunk in and I doubt I will ever shoot 29 again. I had to take the opportunity to brag about this one.

played in the Junior cup, interclub competition for people of 5/6 handicap. Strokeplay qualifier, Wind was blowing hard and from the north, making the course we were playing on, extremely difficult! I had 11 pars, 7 bogeys and ......... 2 quadruple bogeys. an 8 and a 9. Disgusted and it cost our team a chance of qualifying for the matchplay stages of the competition.

38 (par 35). Opened with 6 pars, finished w/ 3 bogeys. 3/6 fairways, 7/9 greens, 19 putts.

Driving home from golfing this evening (played horribly, like 45-48-93) I heard on the radio that this really obnoxious DJ...



was standing in the middle of a local driving range about 100 yards out and if you could hit him you win tickets to Twilight (lol).

I teed up a driver really low because I obviously don't want to win badly enough to try, but did want to hurt him if I did.

Brag: Had the right trajectory without ever attempting that shot before. Almost hit him.
Beat: Drove 25 minutes out of my way to attempt to win tickets to see Twilight
Variance: 25 guys and 1 girl participated

Shot a 43-47=90 at Boilingbrook (IL) Golf Club this afternoon. Included an 8 on an island green par 3, with 2 in the water. Very nice course, worth the extra few bucks over the local munis. It would be an absolute bear if the wind blew though, played 6770 from the blue (second to back) tees. While I didn't have any, the guy I played with had 4 birdies, so it can be accessible. I didn't make any putts of significance, which was disappointing.

I'm finally getting comfortable with all my yardages, and having the confidence that I can pull off my shots. I was just a little off today, as I found myself between clubs a lot. But I am certainly striking the ball a lot better than I was this time last year.

Failed to record a score. Played the worst I have in ages. Still better then working.

Shot 69 this past weekend at Legacy Golf Club here in phoenix. Not my best career round but considering how many beers we got down on the course it was pretty damn impressive. Hit 17 greens, only two bogeys that were both three putts.

booze + buds = getting in the zone and pwning....

Shot 77 on my 6664 yard 73/135 par 72 home course for 41 stableford points. Finishing the round double bogey - bogey was slightly dissapointing though.

44/53-97 - Not unhappy with that really but played pretty meh on the back 9.

Highlight: 25 foot chip in from just off of a double breaking (?) green for birdie and following up with a solid birdie on the next hole (par 5)...Sweet!

Brag: drained an 80 footer for my only birdie.
Beat: triple bogeyed the first hole and doubled the last.

I took a 10 on a par 5 the other day that included 3 in the water. 3 brand new prov's I might add Then I hit another in the water on a different hole. I just bought the freakin balls and never blow up like that! Also hit two balls OB during my adventurous round. Had a bunch of birds and shot 82 in the end.

Was even through 5 and then the meltdown ensued. I think it was a combination of no food, a gimmicky course, and 96* degrees in blistering Fla. The sun is cooking brain down here. Heading back to NY for for the 4th and I can't wait to play some golf up there under normal conditions. *** this 95* degree humid sht.

39-46-85. Rained for about the first nine holes but it really didn't affect things much.

Some of you have seen my other thread, but it'll be fun for me to detail my best round ever so bare with me.

I arrive at the course at about 8 am for my 8:50 tee time in my first ever club championship (or individual tournament for that matter). I'm paired with 3 guys I've never played with, two of which are former champs. +2 and 0 handicaps. I'm a 5. I'm a little nervous but not too much until I step on the first tee:

Hole 1: 380 dogleg left. Heart pounding I hit a very solid drive to the right side of the fairway. I'm left with about 110. I hit 52* pushed a little to the right of the green pin high, but I've shortsided myself. I hit a pitch thin to the back of the green about 20 ft out. Drain the par putt. Crazy start. Even.

Hole 2: 150 yd par 3. Hit an 8 iron very chunky to about 20 yds short. Decent pitch to about 15 ft. 2 putt bogey. 1 over.

Hole 3: 330 yd narrow par 4. Driver right side of the fairway about 10 ft. from the hazard 85 out. Hit a good 56* about 20 ft. above the hole. 2 putt par. 1 over.

Hole 4: 400 yd par 4. Hit driver just into right rough about 130 out. 9 iron a touch fat on the front of the green about 30 ft from the pin. Almost hole the putt, tap in par. 1 over.

Hole 5: 120 yd par 3. PW left side of the green about 25 ft out. Again almost hole it, tap in par. 1 over.

Hole 6: 500 yd par 5. Driver to middle of fairway about 220 yds out. 5 wood to about 10 ft. from the front of the green. Chip to 3 ft. BIRDIE #1. Even.

Hole 7: 410 yd. par 4. Driver left rough with tree trouble. Try to hook a 6 iron. Hit it well but it goes straight. I hit a mediocre pitch to about 15 ft and two putt for bogey. 1 over.

Hole 8: 340 yd par 4. Hit a good drive to about 80 yds in the fairway. Pull a 56* to just off left edge about 15 ft. from pin. Drain it for BIRDIE #2. Even once again.

Hole 9: 485 yd par 5. Dogleg right. Hit a very good drive in the fairway about 200yds out. Then I hit my first poor shot of the day skanking a hybrid right. I've got about 95 yds left and have to hit a very high 52* over a tree from the rough. I hit a good shot but had a little too much club. I'm in the middle of the green about 25 ft and two putt for par. Even 36 making the turn and pumped.

Hole 10: Tough 410 yd dogleg left par 4. I hit my drive right into tree trouble. Punch to about 20 yds short of the green. Decent chip to about 10 ft. Two putt bogey. 1 over.

Hole 11: 175 yd. par 3. Hit a decent shot but not enough club. Chip from just short of the green into tap in range. Par. 1 over.

Hole 12: 315 yd tight par 4. Slice my drive into the hazard right. Drop from about 80 yds. Hit my 3rd to the middle of the green and two putt for bogey. 2 over and thinking "just keep it together and shoot in the 30s on the back."

Hole 13: 490 yd par 5. Good drive to about 215. I'm in between my 5 wood and hybrid so I decide to try to cut the 5 wood. I cut it alright. I get a good break and miss the bunker left. I hit a very good pitch off a bare lie to about 4 ft. Make it for BIRDIE #3. 1 over.

Hole 14: 145 yd par 3. Hit 8 iron to front of green about 30 ft. Almost drain it. Tap in par. 1 over.

Hole 15: 535 par 5. Drive a little right into light rough. Try to hit 3 wood but catch a little too much grass. Catch a break clearing a tree and it ends up about 70 yds out in the fairway. Hit a very good 56* to about 10 ft. Drain it for BIRDIE #4. Even again!

Hole 16: 420 yd par 4. Hit a good drive to about 150. 8 iron to front of green about 30 ft out. Almost make it. Tap in par. Even still!

Hole 17: 380 yd par 4. Pull drive way left into some trees but catch a break and have a clear shot. Hit a perfect 9 iron from 130 to about 10 ft. Drain it for BIRDIE #5! 1 freaking under par with one hole to go. I've been here once before and choked by pulling my driver dead left into trees soooo:

Hole 18: 430 yd par 4. PIPE drive to about 145 in the middle of the fairway. Hit 8 iron a touch fat just off the front of the green. Too nervous to attempt a chip so I putt it to about 2 ft. Make the par for my first ever round under par. 71!

Great day! I played my best round ever in my first club championship and was now faced with sleeping on the lead, lol.

Shot 81 yesterday 39-42. Another brush with breaking 80 and another fail. Im ok with it tho because I started to lose my swing after about the 5th hole and spent the rest of the round trying to make it work. Didnt help we had about an hour rain delay after about 11 holes.

41/45/86 at James Baird State Park. Played with 2 other friends who are pretty good, and not one of us made a putt outside 10 feet the entire round. The greens were fast and bumpy, and not holding very well at all.

46/36/82 at Maple Moor. Couldnt get up and down to save my life on the front, had two '3' putt bogeys and also chunked a sand wedge from 75 yards out on a Par 5 lying two.

This was a tale of two nines tho...Came out firing on the back nine when I stuck a 4 iron from 210 to about 15 feet below the hole. Sunk a nice putt, and then played a very clean back nine with 4 pars, 2 birdies and 3 bogeys.

Proud of myself for bouncing back on the back nine.

Drove the ball like sh*t except for a few holes, hit my irons really well though. Putting was up and down, I made about 6 1-putt par saves anywhere from 3 to 15 feet, but couldn't make any putts for birdie. Played alone, but not ashamed to say that I solo fist pumped a bunch of the par putts, they just feel so good.
