I lost by one point. was feeling tired and hungover but started with a par and managed not to lose a ball on the front nine of a very narrow course with knee high impenetrable rough lining the fairways.

High point: Hit the green in one on the short par four and made my birdie.

Low point: getting lucky finding my ball in the rough I needed to chip out sideways all of 10 feet. I some how pulled my chip hard left into a big spiky bush and gave up on the hole.

Played a fun charity best-ball scramble in L.A. For the LAPD. My friend Bill and I were teamed up with a father/son team who were very good and we won first place for low gross with a score of 14 under par; 14 birdies and 4 pars.

I made some great contributions: sinking a few long putts, sticking an 8-iron within 4 feet on a par 3 when the rest of my team had missed the green, and hitting a 2nd shot 4-iron 200 yds. To a well protected green on a par 5...even though we all missed the 25 foot eagle putt.

My obituary will now include the phrase, "champion golfer."

Played a course called Lakeridge links that lots of people told me they were fond of, thought it was a piece of **** myself. Tees were fangled, fairways weren't bad, layout was ho-hum. Every green had anywhere from 30 to 100 unfixed ball-marks, and it was obvious that the maintenance crew hadn't tended to any of them. They were quite quick at least.

Once again, had the range session of my life and then couldn't bring it to the course. I did play a short par 4 like a champ though; 4brid short of the creek, hit a solid fade 8 iron to 3 feet and made the putt. Putting was really good except for a few holes where I completely lost my touch, including 4 putting a par 5 that started off with a GIR.
Nice day though.

43-45-88. 5/13 fairways, 8/18 greens, 38 putts. I didn't keep the card and it said 86 but I'm pretty sure it was 88. Didn't play very well - after some early good shots the ball striking faded badly and I putted miserably, missing a large number of <6 footers.

I tilt way too easily. We had a guy show up late so we had to play as a fivesome. Three of the five are brutally slow. I spent the entire front nine steaming over the pace. I'm having some physical issues and contributed some drag over the last couple holes but come on. There are times when grinding over that three footer for double bogey isn't really necessary.

48-50-98 on Saturday for my second ever sub 100 round... definitely getting better. 40 putts (lol, this could shave some strokes off my game), 4/14 fairways, 5/18 greens. Drove the ball well up until 9 where I was a hero and tried to clear the water, and failed multiple times. Came together again later in the round. Overall a happy way to start my season.

had some really stupid drives on the par 5's, missed some fairly easy birdie opportunities. Had another dumb drive that missed the green on a 150yd par3, chipped in for birdie though. Eagle'd a par 5 on back 9.

prob couldve had one of my best rounds ever if only I didnt have the stupid shots.

47-43/90 at Rockland Lake Championship Course.

First time playing the course, and just made course management errors, one after another. Hit Driver on the first hole to a fairway 190 yards to a dogleg right...then punched through the fairway, pitched short of the green, and couldnt get up and down for bogey.

Good news was I did buckle down on the back and shoot a decent score. Couldnt make a 5 footer to save my life as I ended up with 37 putts, but had some great shots around the greens.

Get to play twice this coming weekend...cant wait.

41 (par 37). Easy course setup today. 3/7 fairways, 5/9 greens, 16 putts.

Just played 9. I was +1 after 5, by far my best start ever (90 would probably be my average). Then went bogey, double, bogey, par, double for 43. doh. What an annoying way to have a slightly better than my average score.

Beat: I have a bad sprain/possible stress fracture in my right foot. X-rays were negative the doctor thinks, but says stress fractures do not always show up. So in the midst of two weeks off...

Filling the void with some live poker and a little complaining.

Had a good ball striking day but totally failed to capitalise on it.
After sinking two long puts on the first three holes my putting went to pieces and I shot putt after putt past the hole. My chipping was also heavy handed and that was compounded by my over-clubbing on 6 holes and going into trouble behind the green.

47 on the front nine of Fossil Trace GC for sunset yesterday. 19 putts. Not terrible overall except for a double on 1 and a quad on 2. and a 3-putt bogie on 4

Caught a flyer on 8 that was exactly like what pelz writes about in the Short Game Bible, and although I may have caught one before it was so evident to me what happened this time. Hit a drive into the right rough leaving 103 yards in to the pin, ball was sitting up, I hit a sand wedge that felt clean, but it shot off the club face low and flew 120 yards into the hill behind the green. Interesting shot, now that I know what caused it. Big fat grass stain on my clubface too.

Beautiful looking course!

I know, right?! It's actually a muni and it's on the pricey side for a public course (70 to ride weekends) but I work right down the street and it's 16 to walk sunset there. Sweet deal imo.

I just learned that the maximum score for a hole oobgolf will let you enter is 15. You can probably imagine how I learned this.

43-42-85. Played a different course this morning. I didn't keep any of the peripheral stats but I'm pretty ****ing sure I had more than 40 putts again.

Wow...that looks amazing, Im sure you get some beautiful shots walking later in the evening.


44/39/83 at Putnam National Golf Course. The whites played over 6500 today (pretty long compared to other Muni's around me). Hit the driver awesome all day, with the exception of two holes and I payed through the nose on both. Not terrible drives, just pushed em right but ended up behind two very large trees on both occasions.

Once again got saved by my short game, and ended up with 33 putts with the greens not in great condition.

Brag: Shot 68 today.
Beat: Gross score was 85.
Beat: Scramble tournament.

Played the Fred Couples designed San Juan Oaks for a work sponsored tournament. Was super awesome. The first 9 was immaculate, we shot a 3 over 39. Guy I was playing with got on in 2 with a 310 yard drive and a 245 yard 5 wood after my drive into the woods and 2nd shot layup to 100, lol. Back 9 it started raining, got super windy and miserable, greens actually seemed to get faster though...and we shot a 10 over 46

Highlights of the day for me were hitting a 40 yard pitch shot to like 3 inches, and actually hitting a good driver/3 wood combo to reach a par 5 in 2 on the back (we 3 putted the 3 tier green )

Would highly recommend the course, but would recommend playing in the morning.

If I shot a 49 over I would 100% not have finished the round.

First time out in a LONG time, I played Misty Creek Country Club today, here in Sarasota. It is a pretty challenging private course, 73.3/131, and my goal was to swing easy and see if I could get around in 85 or less.

I shot a 92, but that was with a huge blister on my right hand for the final 12 holes. I went 44/48, and put some very good swings on the ball.

This was my first round playing the Taylor Made Penta, and I really like the ball a lot, especially on the greens.

Anyway, I only skulled or duffed maybe five shots, and I definitely lost no fewer than five strokes just for not knowing where the hell anything was, so, all in all, I think getting to the point where I am bumping up against 80 at some point is not impossible.

Giving away so many shots on the greens, which are like velcro all of a sudden. Also hit about a half dozen really really terrible shots. It's getting ugly.

Where do you usually golf at?

Played 9 at a course I worked at for 2 years today. This was my second round in 2 years . I've never been a decent golfer but was pretty pumped to birdie one of the par 3's. First shot stuck about 7 feet from the pin and calmly sank the putt.
