Hit 5 fairways, only 7 greens (they were lol frozen most of the day) but scrambled well. Only 28 putts which is tied for my season low and missed from 3 and 3.5 feet on 16 and 17.

Good to get out. Posting season over so I got to try a few more things; working on what feels like flattening my position at top to be more laid off (a la Rickie) but as my buddy observed it’s barely more laid off and just more on plane with a better rotation (which is the point / an inch feels like a mile)

Oh and started birdie, par, bogie, double so I was a bit nervous on the 5th tee that triple was in the cards…

Should get out Saturday too as the snow is holding off this week!

Same thing as yesterday, just flipped the scores. Played 9s game and the good news is we were on a double press when I finished par, par, birdie. Walked away with $39 profit. Not bad when the points are $0.50 to start the day.

do you give bonus points (7-1-1) to winning the hole with a birdie?

They used to until I joined the group. Me being a 3 handicap against players who are in the 13-18 range they decided it was unfair

Sometimes I don't realize how difficult my course is until I bring guests to the course. Between the two of them I would say they lost around 15 balls total.

I Got 39 points in our roll up, was a bad scoring day judging from the scores. I did manage to get the 1 and only 2 of the day so scooped the 2's money

Played ok pitching was meh I kept on chunking a lot of shots. Then on the flip side I hit a few pure shots that just went 10-15 further than I expected.

With an asterisk, if this were strict USGA rules I probably would have made worse than a double on the first hole - couldn't see where the ball ricocheted to when I hit branches twice, hole was dead into the sun and I was out by myself.

Otherwise, played unexpectedly well. Had to hit a lot of club - lots of 4 irons from 140 - but it worked. Hit lots of greens and putted decently. Thrilled to get out and walk nine holes this time of year, it was 50 degrees and just perfect for walking.

Just two bad swings did me in. Took some $ in the quota game, 2nd on the front, 2nd overall, 2 pins, 1 skin

Sitting 2nd overall in $ won for this season. $5 of $30 each week goes into a shootout twice per year. Top 10 money earners are in the shootout. That pool currently sits at $1,060.

39-36 75 - more forward tees again as it’s been so cold and frozen greens can’t be playing it too long. 6.5 calc’d differential but can’t post now.

Did a 3 club thing today and got smashed by the other team then we did a 9 hole scramble 3v3 .. Our team went -2 to level back to -2 ��


when I was in the car park I met a guy from Arizona, I was like wtf are you doing here in the south of the UK, He said he is visiting and isn't playing golf again until the March as the conditions suck

Next week is going to be carnage we have a 9 hole Xmas scramble with 72 players should be fun though.

9s being a three person game? Or can you play with 4 and whoever is last just doesn't get points?

I LITERALLY heard about this game for the first time two weekends ago. I don't know how that's possible given my love of golf and gambling.

We've been doing a "new to us" game with our usual foursome. New partner every six holes, each six holes is a match (with presses available). Easy and fun.

Played the local 'short' course yesterday...12 holes, walkable and tough. Didn't keep score as it was just for fun. Beautiful day for a walk...

I've only played it as a 3 person game but your description for 4 with last not getting a point is probably okay. Ties could result in half points but no harm in that, right?

I like the 6 hole matches - I used to play in a group that did a lot of that. An older guy at the club at the time loved it and he would insist we unstrap the bags and switch cart partners, etc. Get the comradery and **** talking going. Ha

You could always edit it to work with 4 people. With math math you need to get to an even # if you have a 2, 3, or 4 way tie though.

When we play with for we usually do the same thing you do with 6,6,6. We call it COD (Carts, Opposite, Drivers) to make the teams. I prefer that game to Wolf so you don't have to wait to tee off in a specific order.

Nice! I have only 1 eagle this year. Had double digit eagles the two prior years. I guess that happens when you never hit driver any more.
