I 100% get that now these days, My expectations have shifted a ton over the last few months mainly due to taking part in the club comps for me to win them I have to shoot lower. For example in he 9 hole roll up I play off around 3 and I shot -2 and Level Par recently the -2 got my 2nd and the Level Par got me 3rd. In the 18 hole comps I'm shooting 3-7 Over off like 10ish recently has been good enough for a 2nd or a 3rd but usually it isn't good enough, but yeah my mentality has shifted if I'm in a decent position on a hole I'm thinking birdie when before I'm thinking Par.
Saying all that I had a interesting 9 holes today.
33 -1
1st hole cracking drive like A1 position for the flag with about 50 yards in, Pitched a wedge in a holed out for eagle.
3rd Hole Par 5 played safe off the tee and hit a 4 iron. Was a little left and was a bit to close to a bush so I had to take more loft than I wanted to and it was into the wind. Hit a decent shot which left me around 150ish. Hit a good 3rd bit wind got it and pulled it into the bunker in which I had a really shitty stance and left it into he bunker got it out and 2 putt for a double.
6th Long Par 4 hardest hole on the course and you'll take 5 any day. Was playing downwind today and hit a cracking drive, Left me like 200 to he flag hit a 5 iron but went over the back. Up and down for the Par.
7th Par 3 put it to 5 feet and got a Birdie.
9th Par 4, Iron off the tee which left me a wedge in to a tucked flag anything short is in the bunker and anything long is a tough up and down. I hit it to 7 feet and made the birdie.
1 thing I am happy about is that I'm striking my driver out the centre again but I only hit 2 drivers so very small sample.
