42-45-87. No birdies, too many doubles.

Ball striking improved from F-minus to a solid D. There were a handful of good shots but way too many that were just bad. Nothing else was particularly good.

For a course that doesn't have that many trees I sure was blocked out by a bunch of them. Had no shot other than driver off the ground four times. Three of those there were among my more successful shots of the day. The fourth would have been but for that pesky tree trunk that got in the way. What a hack.

37-40-77 (Par 69)

Played half decent today, I felt like ass though had my 2nd covid Jab yesterday and I'm actually just aching all over.

11 Pars/6 Bogeys/1 Double quite disappointing as I hit 11 out of 18 greens in regulation, 3 Putt 3 holes. Need to start making birdies.

the good from today: had my 2 closest shots to holes in one that I can recall. first one just slid past and finished 14" right/behind the hole. second one landed 3 feet dead in line front of pin and just skipped over the hole. ended up 6 feet behind but, imo, it could have easily hit the pin and dropped in.

bad from today: a complete mental breakdown on 7. tee shot: whiff. next shot dead left out of play. just re-teed. mistake after mistake = 12. jeesh. granted i had checked out after 8th shot.

oh yeah, 102.

edit: i didn't count the whiff.

36-42-78

4 birdies, 3 doubles, 4 3-putts

Played a Ryder Cup like match between my Saturday group and Sunday group. 4 fourball matches. My partner got 9 shots and two opponents got 3 and 5 (played off of me). The 36 on the front was with 2 3-putts. We were 2 up after 9.

Start the back 9 with a 3-putt bogey. Get to 16 and we are all square. I was +2 with the 4 3-putts (lovely). Proceed to double 18 but partner saved me and we halved the hole. 18th hole both opponents and my partner all hit it OB (lol). I hit a good drive and have 245y to the hole and lay-up. Both opponents hit the green in 5. I have 102y and hit the most god awful 102y 54* about 85y right into the drink. Drop and hit 5th to 15 feet. We all proceed to miss and halve with doubles for no blood. My team lost. LOL golf.

42-43-85. No birdies, 2 double bogeys. 73.0/142/6700 yards.

More normal today. Ball striking mostly OK. Didn't have to chip much, I even hit acceptable sand shots. Finally gave my high school putter a full round (I regripped it a couple weeks back, it's been unusable for years due to my being too lazy to regrip) and made a 40 footer for par on the first hole. Had really good birdie looks on the last two holes but didn't make either.

2 Birdies - 6 pars - 9 bogeys - 1 triple

Well I got what I asked for made 2 birdies on the front 9, Was level starting 6th hole and made a triple. Striking irons pretty good, driver and woods pretty terrible.

42 +40 = 82.

I played way better than 82 (I'll avoid the "that's the worst I could have shot" cliche). I haven't struck the ball this well in years. YEARS. I have the rhythm I've been working on and the right swing. I could use a bit better rotation, but I'm hoping that comes with losing a bit of weight (just started a $1000 weight loss bet).

Started off horribly after hitting a shot that didn't cut into a greenside bunker, flying it across the green to the tall grass, and hacking around for a triple. Other than that, nothing worse than bogey, and the bogeys were closer to pars than doubles, and the pars closer to birdies than bogeys.

Was a guest in a member-guest event over the weekend. Played pretty poorly - but slightly better than my partner but we had fun. I shot 85-82 as a 9 course handicap - it was stableford scoring so our many many bogies and pars didn't really do much as we only made 3 birdies in 36 holes and not even close to enough net birdies to stand a chance.

Friday night they set the front 9 up as a par 3 course all holes between 60 and 105 yards - some tees in fairways, some in rough, some on the next tee box hitting back to the previous green - lots of fun! -2 for us. We missed the money in that part of the event by 1 shot and I missed a 4 foot birdie putt on our last hole which is disappointing when you make it back to the clubhouse. Fun brag is we used my score on every hole; partner tied 3 I'd guess but as wedges and putting is the best part of my game it was my time to shine. Too bad in real golf you have to hit tee shots

Played another 9 holes later in the evening didn’t really score but remember being level through 3 holes and then on the 200 yard uphill par 3 playing probably a bit longer, I went from not missing hitting a shot to miss hitting every shot on that hole. Topped tee shot into the small pond, dropped fatted it up the hill about 50 yards. Shanked a wedge, then fatted lob wedge then hit a flush wedge then proceeded to 3 putt. Next hole small par 3 stiffed it to 5 feet, got to love this game!

I’m really striking my irons really well probably the best I’ve hit them ever, getting the ball flight I’ve always strived for.

Super fun - it's a club with a lot of working members so the member/guest is just over the weekend and even Friday practice round doesn't see too many players so the Friday evening par 3 contest just before dinner was great. Went out in 6-somes and it still took less than an hour and a half

Me and two friends in same spot, so we're doing four months, $1,000.00 to the winner (from each, so $2k total) based on percent lost. To make it somewhat friendly and encouraging, if anyone loses 12% they do not have to pay, even if someone beats them.

Played 9 holes this afternoon shot 7 over mainly down to 2 holes.

2nd Hole hit it into a bunker 30 yards away from the green it's a tough deep bunker and I've learned my lesson not to go in it again, Took 3 to get out ended up with a triple.

Then on the 4th managed to miss hit into the water again ended up with a triple on the Par 3.

1 good thing I was about a foot away from my 1st hole in one didn't scare the hole or anything but still was the closes I've been, Was nice doing in front of a few people on the other tee as well even if they were terrible at golf themselves.

I'm so bad out of bunkers. Didn't used to be, but now I hit 1 good bunker shot out of 10. I need to just go practice, but I can't bring myself to do it. It's 2-3 strokes every time I'm in one (about every other round), so it's worth it.

Honestly I'm actually half decent at them in terms of getting out of them, Now and again I'll blade one over the green. This bunker at my local is just a no no to go in. When you go into it you'll nearly always roll to the front of it and You'll step in the bunker and your faced with a 6 foot mound in front of it so you have to open the face a lot. Quite literally 0 chance of getting on the green from it well at least for me anyway, Right pain in the ass though this bunker is in the middle of the fairway.

I actually helped someone out of a bunker yesterday I gave him a few tips (I don't like being that guy but he was struggling). I did that thing where you draw a line in the sand and tell him to splash it, Then told him to dig you feet in the sand a little so your stable but also have a bit more flex in the legs so you're a little bit lower than normal and probably a little more open to target also more weight on you're front foot and keep it there. When I swing in the bunker I keep my lower half really quiet and then I make sure I keep the speed up going through the ball/sand, I think the speed and the lower half of the body is a must have when in greenside bunkers. I see people all the time lose pace when coming into impact in bunkers and I get it they're fearful of hitting to far so they slow down.

I don't know if all that is correct so take it how you want it just works for me (Most of the time), hopefully it will help you but I'm sure you've probably heard this all before.

Don't get to play as much as I used to but have been out a few times this season with decidedly mediocre results. However, there was a highlight of a hole out from 100 out for eagle on a par 4, something I'd never done before.

Nice congrats I've only ever done it once for Eagle about 120 yards on a par 5. Such a good feeling seeing it go in.

Interesting day on the course yesterday. Was 1-over through 4 and shot 62 with 10 birdies. Played from only 6500 yards.

But didn’t even have the story of the day as my buddy aced the 6th hole from 147. Uphill shot with pin tucked behind bunker so can’t see that side of the green from the tee. Walked on the green and only saw three balls and said “****, where’s Matt’s ball?” as it was the last hole of the robin and he was not on my team. His 9th hole in one. He also got off easy afterwards as the only guy playing who drinks is currently on a diet that doesn’t allow beer.

Good times.

Edit - for some reason the expletive didn’t get altered, wonder if it has to do with the quotation mark? And now after editing it got altered, really weird.

Awesome

Went to the range Wednesday for the first time in a year approx, and only hit half a small bucket because I was striping them lol hooked a couple drives, but then kept back on my last 2 and managed to keep the face open.

You guys ever tee it up so high and get top-spin like chi chi?

37-39-76 (Par 69)

11 Pars - 7 bogeys

Quite happy with today's play, Super windy day was actually hard to putt. Would of liked to hit more greens in reg as only hit 6, few times I remember being like 100 yards or so and just misjudging the wind and taking to much club and over cooking it. Really wanted to get 75 hit a cracking tee shot on 18 pretty decent distance into the wind. Approach shot turned over with the wind and I got a nasty lie over the back of the green. Duffed it out onto the green and 2 putt for bogey.

- Only 6500 yards
- Only saw 3 balls on the green
- 9th hole in one

You and your crew play a different game than me and my pals. My version of your story would be:

- "Ugh, was forced to play 6500 yards today"
- "Miraculously we waked up and saw 3 balls on the green!"
- There would be no mention of an ace
