First time playing this course. Nice greens, fairways were cut a little long + thick rough means it played longer than the card yardage. Pretty average round, ball striking was mediocre. Made a few putts, missed a few.

Driver and putter both let me down on the front. Hooked 2 drives OB. Pulled it together on the back, managed to par 6 of last 7 holes. Need to cut down on double bogeys (had 4 today) and start cashing in on my good approach shots by making some birdie putts. Have not had a birdie in 3 rounds.

Iron approaches were questionable on the back 9. Chipping was OK but with the greens running faster I had a lot of 5 footers coming back for par, luckily I made my fair share for a change.

Eh, slept funny and my neck and trap was all wonky. Couldn't hit the ball. Didnt hit the ball well. 1 birdie, 2 doubles.

Getting old sucks, doesn't it? I strained my neck earlier this week putting sunblock on.

It's been brutally hot this week (by local standards) and I'm just fried. Pretty average round, some good shots, but no energy.

Moved up to the white tees in order to get ready for the member/guest in 2 weeks. Amazing how much easier the course is from those tees. I only hit one driver all day long and still had no more than 8 iron into any green. Think i have a good game plan going forward. Didn't make any putts but didn't really have any easy ones either. I think my closest birdie putt was in the 15 foot range.

Not sure of the score, but I won our club handicap match play event against a 5 h/c player on the 17th to get my name on a board.

Thanks! I'm never called a sandbagger - the guy I beat is a good friend at the club and is part of a group of us who all play together in the afternoon comps and have pound bets between ourselves every time we play.

I only had to win 4 matches as I had a bye in the first round, but in order I beat 12, 5, 10 and 5 h/caps. My game at the moment is in a place where I have suddenly regained a lot of driving distance, and make a lot more pars, but I also keep throwing in some high scores along the way. Obviously that is a great game for match play with my h/c.

The guy I beat doesn't play during winter (his last game this year), so I actually asked him for advice on improving my driving consistency afterwards - I know him well enough to know he wouldn't mind giving me some help to improve my game, even after I had just beaten him.

Played another ClubCorp course that is about 15 minutes from my home course. They should be embarrassed over the condition of that place. Tee boxes basically have no grass, at least not enough on any part of it to hold the weight of a golf ball. Fairways are largely barren. Rough is spotty including some sandy lies just off of the fairway.

The only saving grace were the greens as they rolled good and moderately fast. They did probably have about 5 with significant grass missing in spots where it's filled in with green sand.

I would be pissed off if I played that as my member/guest (theirs is in 3 weeks).

Sounds like one of those places clubcorp was able to come in and buy for cheap otherwise the club would close otherwise.

Still would hate to be a member of a place like that though.

Been in this weird state where I feel like I'm actually getting better, but my scores are getting worse. Couple that with the inability to play even remotely well during a round that counts, and my HC has been on a backwards skid.

Almost didn't play today, but last minute found a slot in a group of unknowns first off at 7am. Jumped in hoping to just be relaxed over the ball and play slightly better than usual.

Stiff southerly breeze and it was monthly medal (off the tips) and somehow managed to shoot 3 under my handicap, including a +1 5-hole stretch.

Ball striking continues to be inconsistent. Only putt I made was from off the green.

34 pts stableford in a 3-man team competition.

Everyone goes out in separate groupings and the scores are added together.

We scored 34/33/32 in bad conditions (CSS was 34pts), where the best scores were 2 35s and 2 34s, so we won quite comfortably.

And so ends the summer season - winter season starts tomorrow!

So I've been playing in the GolfWeek Amateur Tour this summer, and this weekend is our Nevada Championship tourney...today and tomorrow combines score for the last one of the year.

We played Angel Park Mountain today, Palm tomorrow. Damn windy, too.

I'm in third place coming in, but if I win my flight, I win the championship for the year (of my flight).

Today I played ok...but gave way too many shots away...two chunked chips, two 3-puts. A fat tee shot on a 100 yd. par 3 across a canyon that led to a double...**** that should just not happen.

40-43-83.

Two guys in my flight shot an 81...so I can still catch them tomorrow. I can still win by coming in 2nd, but the leader has to come in last...won't happen.

LOL We were trying to figure out all the permutations today after the round was over, like we were in the FedEx thing last week.

Seriously should've shot at least a 78 today...kinda pissed.

Played a touch more aggressively than I normally would because of the game were were playing, like going for a 286y par 4 where it's all carry over water (it didn't work). I was blasting shots over the green everywhere.

Interesting play of the day someone in our group missed a green left where it hit an old tree stump on the fly and shot it 90* straight left and out-of-bounds.
