What course?

Last double of the year I´m sure, effing winter. First a 6100y / 131 course. 41- 42 - 83. It has been wet here (no hurricanes but just keeps on raining), and I have trouble since I struggle with hitting down on the ball. Not one or two times I had a muddy face. First round I drove pretty good for a change, just could not sink one birdie.

Then got convinced to drive one hour to another course. One of Finlands best, and hardest. 6550y / 139. Hard enough when not splashing wet. No wind though, did not help me much. 46-48 - 94. Still liked the course. Heh funny, front-nine thought I played okay, but got exposed by elements and course, and ****ty putt.

Made the weekly comp final by thinnest margin possible, now would need to figure out by Saturday how to hit the damn golfball and not the turf. Gonna be wet ugh.

Wentworth Hills. It's a short course, but it's target golf, and the course is always in great shape.

38 (par 35). 1 birdie, 1 triple bogey.

Lol Tuesday golf. Played the par 5s in +4, stellar.

I put on a world class display of spraying the ball off the tee. It takes effort to hit a 302 yard drive on a 298 yard hole and still have 60 yards to the pin. I blocked one on 9 so bad that it probably went in the parking lot over a lateral hazard and tall trees, didn't see any broken glass driving through after the round so that was good . Didn't even realize I hit zero fairways, glad I didn't ruin the stellar display by accidentally hitting a fairway on the last hole or 2. Couldn't get the putter going either

Started double, double. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn most of the round all though I didn't drive the ball as poorly as the stats say. Helped ending with 3 straight birdies. Ben a while since I have had 3 in a row, let alone last 3.
The course was oddly soft even though hasn't rained much, they punched a bunch of the fairways so they must have watered a ton, half my drives were within a yard of the pitch mark.

Ehheee, great final in the weekly comp. Best start of the season on the tougher course, was on par through six, even though missed a 4-footer there. Long par 5 7th and okay after 3 near the green. Then shanked a pitch. And another. Wtf, that happens pretty much never. Then next hole i7, shank. Wedge - shank. Shankitty-shank-shank-shanks. All to water no less. Had same kinda thing one round last season, good to get it this year too lol. Did hit two shanks in the range so not totally out of the blue, but yea funny/wtf stuff. In the beginning could think nerves had something to do with it, but that moment was feeling all good. Two shanks on 10th again and then walked the rest, go me.

Some high handicap woman was crushing and ended up with net 65, on the bright side was never gonna hit that for sure.

39-44-83. No birdies, 1 double bogey.

Club championship weekend. Ball striking adequate. I can't remember the last time I played an 18 hole round of golf and didn't have a single one putt. I even chipped decently for once. Didn't get up and down once. Or if I did, it was after a putt from an inch or six off the green.

Knocking off the rust after not playing for almost 2 weeks. These hurricanes suck. Every part of my game was just a bit off.

If I don't shoot in the 70s tomorrow it's gonna be a bad tournament on Tuesday.

Been a while since I have putted as bad as today. I hit 1 good shot the entire day, was just garbage or the occasional mediocre shot. Couldn't hit off the tee and kept hitting awful drives with way too much spin costing me like 20-30 yards in carry.

They weren't awful but the theme of the day was a 65 yard wedge leaving me a 40 foot putt.

Tale of two 9's. Found it on the back. Birdies on 2 and 3 (started on 10), missed a 10 footer for par on 7, then missed a 3 footer for par on 8. Had 10 feet for eagle on 9 and left the ****in' putt short to miss my career 9 hole low.

Eagle putt for your personal best 9 and short?!?! turn in the man card and go pick up a 7 and 8 hybrid sir.

Simply terrible. If I don't miss the three footer the hole before I have no doubt that I make the eagle putt and shoot 33. Leaving it short never entered into my mind.

30 putts on the day with 3 3-putts.

39-46-85. No birdies, 2 doubles, 1 triple.

Ran out of gas at the end but it didn't matter, wasn't going to win. Did finish 2nd in my flight. Played solid through 6 holes, then went back to missing putts.

Had a good round in a tournament.

37-41-78

No doubles. One birdie. Should've been more, as I missed three birdie putts under 10 feet. I only had 23 putts in the round, though, so I guess I can't complain.

Won my flight, closest to the pin, fewest putts (by 8!) and a skin. $178. Booyah.

45-41-86 (6,485, 71.3/129)

One birdie, too many doubles. Score improved when I bagged the driver and hit 3w for the back nine. Just can't see to control the driver. Irons were relatively solid, putting was pretty meh.

Strong tourney Dom

Went to play today, half expecting to shank and walk. First hole par-3 straight from the car and pretty nervous tee-off, good hit though. Shanks did not exatly appear, one pitch was close to a one, and one 8i too, a bit open-faced or something. Otherwise went well, 40-41 - 81 on the tougher course.

Well today was fun. Interesting start as well, after chunking the hell out of a PW I still had 71 yards and holed out for birdie. Made lots of 6-12 footers. Had to make a 7 footer for par on 18 to break 70.

Tournament. Got to start on a 434y par 4 with water all along the left. Killed the drive, still had 4 iron in and missed way right. Pitch it to 3.5 feet, and miss the ****ing par putt.

First 3 holes:

Next hole was entertaining. Hit it through the fairway, which I didn't think was humanly possible, into a lateral hazard which I could play out of. Made the purest contact ever in foot high rough when I was just trying to go lateral back to fairway and blow it all the way through. Ended up making a 20 footer for double. Next hole is a short par 3. I hit into greenside bunker, 2nd short hops the pin and rolls 4 feet out. And I miss the putt.

Over the next 5 holes I have birdie putts of 20, 8, 10, 8, and 15 feet and miss every one of em.

The quad was a comical adventure that I will save to a separate post. Holes 18-8 +2. Holes 9-17 +13.

Funny thing is that I hit the ball pretty good today too. Just found some really odd spots and then made nothing on the greens, which were horrible btw.

Got in 27 before noon today.

The 18 hole score was the tough course and it's the first time it has been open since the hurricane rolled through. Some trees lost but not nearly as many as I would have thought.

The rough is borderline impossible right now. Not sure if they cut it when it was closed so when it's cut it looks like rows of hay trailing the mower. Damn near impossible to find golf balls. Bunkers very inconsistent. Twice I had what looked like good lies and when the club hit the sand it was just dried dirt underneath. Grass I think died in some places where it holds water.

On a good note the greens are rolling REALLY FAST. Member/Guest is less than three weeks away. I kinda wish they would hold the whole thing on the South Course.
