minus 40 yards though. A few of them barely missed the fairway though, need an almost fairway stat.

40 - 1 birdie, 2 doubles, 1 bogey, 5 pars

Played the tips and it's amazing how much better the course fits my eye back there.

Played with an 18 yo kid from the cart barn practicing for a junior tournament at our course over the weekend. The 17-18 age group is playing the tips. For a skinny kid he could hit it out there pretty good.

Played a fairly tough course today. Second time I have played it. Just enough confusing wind to make it a little harder as well and a bit of rain last few holes. 4 water balls as well. Managed a par and a bogey on 2 of them

44 - 41 = 85
32 putts with 2 three putts
4/13 FIR
5/18 GIR
1 birdie, 1 double 1 triple.

after two seconds of looking at your image the GIR on par 3s and 5s is the first thing to jump out at me. not sure how long the tee shot on the 3s and the approach on the 5s are, but that looks like almost a stroke a hole for 8 holes a round if you can improve the iron game or do a better job of up and down on those holes.

Yeah gir on 5's should be massively higher than the others. Need to make a few of those birdie putts as well. I think the gir on the 3's isn't a huge deal but that 100% depends on size and length. If you have hybrids then no big deal. 8 irons would be a big deal. No 3 putts makes me think small greens

36-43-79. 1 birdie, no double bogeys.

Ball striking was more normal today. Did chunk a wedge and chipping was terrible.

Played a 2-man scramble, total gong show. One birdie and 5 bogies. Don´t think either will play worse in a while, just could not hit the ball and every miss possible was recorded. What birdie chances we got, managed to miss the putts. A bit funny and a lot frustrating.

41-42-83

2 doubles, 7 bogeys, 9 pars

Didn't hit the ball good but managed to put up a decent score on a tough course. Greens were aerated on Wednesday.

Playing a 2 man best ball event on Thursday at an old Donald Ross course.

Played in interclub match where I had to give the guy I was playing 7 strokes. Was even par thru 7 but down 4.... Ended up playing bad on the back and shooting 77 to lose 3 and 2.

On the 3rd hole I hit a 9 iron directly at a flag that was over a bunker. The other guys are like OMG you dunked it for an eagle!!!! I'm pumped to win a hole. Turns out the ball was 2 inches from the cup in the shadow of the flagstick. Then my opponent makes par and gets a stroke on the hole so I don't even win the hole. Ugh....

On the 11th I hit the only real foul ball I hit on the day, a drive way left than smacked hard into a fence next to some houses. We get up there and start looking for it and an old lady on a 2nd floor balcony starts yelling "you're not going to find it......." in kind of a sing songy way, and is holding the ball. Not sure where it ended up but it hit the fence so hard I think it may have bounced up into her balcony. By the way she was acting I was pretty sure she was going to keep the ball, but she ended up throwing it back. When I picked it up the ball it had a big mark on it from hitting the fence. So I said to her "hey, your fence scratched my ball..." I thought it was a clever Caddyshack reference but she didn't find it funny at all.....

So my flight had 9 people in it and I won low score.

41-41-82

TOUGH course. The greens are so damn hard. I hit the ball straight, good approach shots, but missed lots of putts. Even had a 4-putt. But I blame the greens more than me lol.

No birdies, so no skins, but did win closest to the pin on a par 3. I also hit a 3-wood on the longest drive hole because I didn't know it was THAT hole.

Won $215.

38-46-84. No birdies, 2 double bogeys.

Ball stirking was mediocre, short game mostly bad. Had a couple of excellent chips, missed the resulting putts. Other chips and pitches were not good.

Congrats! Was the tournament run well? Just curious as I have heard some not great words towards that tour.

Was a new all time display of futile driving off the tee. The 1 fairway came from hitting a tree and kicking back into the middle.

43 - 40 = 83 (81 ESC)
a bunch of bogeys and a quad
31 putts with one 3 putt
1/14 FIR
8/18 GIR

I suck at golf

Nothing burns me more than unfair greens. At least if I'm having a round like ntany above, I know what I have to work on.

Yesterday, I was pretty damn great from tee to green, even playing out of trouble and sticking some approach shots within ten feet for makeable par putts...or so I thought. I didn't make one putt over 3 feet. Every damn hole seemed to be on a crown and break away suddenly once the ball go close. So frustrating. Had 6 holes like that, where I was scrambling to get up and down, hit a great shot, then couldn't sink the putt. Of course, I realize some of that is my fault and not the greens'.

But stuff like this: 470 yd. par 4. A beast, but slightly downhill and down-wind. I crush the best drive of the day 300 yards down the left side. Shot is now downhill a little to a raised green with the pin in the middle-back. Huge bunker on the right, desert on the left. I pure a 7 iron that lands maybe 15 feet in front of the pin and ten feet right. Ball proceeds to roll and roll right off the back right corner into the huge bunker. Even though I played the right to left slope perfectly. Didn't matter.

So now I have to get the ball up and down on a downward slope. Hit a good sand shot but the ball rolls past the pin by ten feet. Can't make the come-backer. Arghhhh.

Never had a better ball-striking day, though.

I know this happens at my home course a lot. Miss left, goes left. Miss right, goes right. I think it has to do with the way they are cutting the hole. When they pull back up it crowns the hole. You basically have to hit the middle of the hole or carry some speed at the cup.

That kind of thing also happens just from people walking around the hole since they don't step within a few inches of it but will stomp all around it. Better to play early morning!

42-40-82

Played the tips of my easier of the two home courses (6,565y. 72.1/133).

10 pars, 6 bogeys, 2 doubles

One of the doubles was the worst swing I have put on the new driver. Hit into the lateral hazard (trees) and was so far left that it no doubt hit a house that I had no idea was even over there.

Greens were just top dressed this morning (light layer of sand placed on them) so putting was an adventure. Hopefully with this the greens should come back in good (just aerated about 4 weeks ago).

38 (par 35). No birdies or doubles.

Tees way up but a couple of very difficult pins. Ball striking was satisfactory and I actually made some short and mid length putts. Lag putting was awful.

Do you guys find the par 3s or par 4s more of a challenge when playing tips/longer courses?
Obviously Par 5s you can usually make up for a poor or short shot, but the other two are a different story.

Pretty meh 51-47-98 today.

Putted terrible (37 total)

Piped a couple of the best drives I've ever hit though, which is a suprise considering I've been terrible off the tee lately. Just chipped and putted woefully today. Too many 3-putts and left everything short. 300degree lip-outs on 13+14 today cut me deep too What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

Highlights/lowlights:

4th hole. Long par 5 into gnarly green surrounded by water, index 2. I've made par here the last three consecutive rounds I've played and looked good to do it again after leaving 95m to the flag on a perfect angle (hole was tucked way up the back right corner. Somehow found the water and ruined any chance for par or better.

6th hole: dogleg left par 4, index 18. Nice 4ir to 90m out, sand wedge to 5 feet and the putt never looks like missing What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

9th hole: par 4, index 6.
Water all the way down right, slight dogleg right around it with trees and humps on the left, very narrow fairway then 15m uphill onto a nasty back-to-front sloping green.
Absolutely PIPED my drive (after performing a brief goodbye ceremony to my ball) dead centre, 90m out. I finished with a 6. What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)What'd You Shoot Today? (Golf BBV Thread)

8 doubles
7 bogeys
1 par
1 birdie
1 worse

2 GIR
4 FIR

The biggest difference between the tips and "white" tees for me are the par 3 distances. I'm not the longest hitter in the world with my long irons when compared to my driver. Having a wedge in your hand vs having a 4 iron or hybrid is miles of difference and that's where I find it infinitely more difficult.

A good example is the tourney I played last week. Par 3's were 127y, 161y, 148y and 141y. Compare that to the tips on my course yesterday of 170y, 208y, 170y and 160y, and the tees were up on a lot of those holes too.

Honestly as long as the par 3 is under 225 doesn't bug me much even though I am not a long hitter. On really long courses the biggest difference I see it lack of birdies on par 5s. My home course has 2 under 500 yards so they are birdie holes and expect to be on on 2 or within 30 yards for my 3rd shot. I just don't make nearly as many birdies when every par 5 is between 520-580
