Change of plans. The BOGO offer is also available at Dick's sporting goods (and maybe other stores?). No shipping for that. I guess it's good to check the "junk" mail since I got that flyer today w/ the coupon. $1.41/ball.

Also are Dick's and Golf Galaxy the same company?
I'd say just get a bag you think you'll like. I also have both - a Sun Mountain C130 cart bag which gets most of the use (and which has both 14 way dividers and a cooler pocket) and a stand bag for when I carry. It's probably on the big side for regular push cart use, otherwise it's great.

Yes, Dick's bought Golf Galaxy, same company.

Yes, I use an Ogio cart bag. I will never walk and carry my bag again in my life so I have no purpose for a stand or any reason to keep it lightweight. I guess there are times where I'd like a stand like when loading or unloading but not enough to care.

Maybe it was already asked and answered, but if so I missed it. Do you have a range bag? I'm getting sick of carrying my cart bag to/from the range and I'm going to the range with my wife the year more than I've ever gone myself in my life.

Our range is a very short walk from the parking lot, so it has never crossed my mind. I would probably just use my push cart if it was a longer walk since it only takes 10 seconds to whip together. Some days I just grab the 3 or 4 clubs i'm going to hit at the range and leave the rest.

Bought some tees for $0.97 thanks to an eBay coupon.

i haven't directly bought tees in at least 5 years. tees are free on the range at Bandon so i just stock up every time i go (which is why i say i haven't directly bought them...cause i'm sure i paid for them).

Does anyone know the distinction with the Callaway Epic Flash and the Epic Flash Sub Zero?

I hit one at a demo day and got all the specs but now can't recall which model it was between the 2 above.

I think the main difference is that you will see a lower spin rate with the epic flash Sub-Zero. It might be more adjustable as well but I'm not sure about that.

+1 except for the Bandon thing. My plastic tees almost never break plus I usually pick up a few lying around the tee boxes.

I never heard of Bandon, but I haven't heard of most courses so that's no surprise. Decided to Google it and damn. It looks like they have 2 courses in golf digests top 100. sure looks nice. I've never been to Oregon, but we may have to plan a trip there... In November when it drops to "only" $175/round or December when it's $100.

Then again, it appears the weather could be a challenge to plan around.

There's a long thread about Bandon in this forum -- multiple posters have been there and there is a ton of good info.

I haven't been yet but definitely want to get there someday.

all four of their 18 hole courses are in the top 14 of Golf Digest's top 100 public courses. a 5th 18 hole course is currently under construction and will open next year. all signs point to it potentially being the best of the lot.

yeah otter, go check out the Bandon thread. regarding the prices, the 2nd round of the day is half price and many folks play 36 a day for that reason. i've only played in in January at the lowest rates. also note Bandon is walking only.

regripped my own clubs for the first time today. golf pride new decade multicompound.
it's really easy and pretty quick once you get into a rhythm. peeling off the old tape is the longest part.
i used a bench vise and a rubber insert to protect the shaft. paint roller tray caught the excess solvent. i'd say a hook knife is also key...wouldn't want to try to cut the old grips off with a standard utility knife.

About five months ago my wife bought this travel case from Dick's sporting goods:

https://m.dickssportinggoods.com/p/t...tchrdtptrvltrv

We had to cancel our trip so we did not use it. However, yesterday she took her clubs to LA and used it for the first time. I dropped her off out front and she only had a short walk to the ticket counter. The pull strap broke after she retrieved her bag at LAX. It's not like she's lugging around a massive bag. She has a starter set with a very light bag and light clubs.

Hopefully they let her return it.

I have had my SKB case for about a year now. I have taken it on about 5 or 6 trips so far and have had no issues. A fully hard case has its + and -. Great protection but you really need a bigger vehicle for it since it is rigid.

Oh, it has a lifetime warranty too. It is built so if anything breaks you can unscrew it and they will provide you with any replacement parts needed.

Thanks I got an SKB case about 15 years ago and only used it once so far, but I will be using it again in the near future. Since my clubs are much more expensive I prefer the security of a hard case. I also got a TSA approved travel strap to keep it closed even though the locks are pretty good.

I was unaware of the lifetime warranty. I doubt that I signed up for it 15 years ago.

Bought an Epic Flash Sub Zero 9.0 with a Tensei Orange 70TX shaft.

Will a $450 shaft cure my mental issues with the driver?

Gonna hit it Tuesday, been resting my wrist for a full week+ after tendonitis has been building all summer.

I hope so! If you feel confident you'll play better. To modify Yogi's quote,

Golf is ninety percent mental and the other half is physical.

Why specifically that shaft?

Because it was by far the most consistent of the group I tried on Trackman in both accuracy and ball speed, and delivered solid spin numbers across the board. Everyone I know who has the shaft also loves it.

We'll see. I liked the Ventus as well, but feel like the misses were far spinnier (same for the Speeder Evo IV I'm replacing), and that's an issue in my Fuji Pro 2.0 3 wood shaft as well.

My golf buddy range finder was really nice in the beginning, but a friend of mine had a GPS that strapped to his belt buckle giving the distance to the front, middle and back and I'm starting to think that's accurate enough. It's also quicker than grabbing the range finder, trying to find the pin and the shoot the distance 2 or 3 times since the first time doesn't always seem to be right.

And it's usually within a couple yards of what the range finder shows anyway. Any recommendations for that type of GPS device? I'm checking to see what he has also.
