New 7 iron compared to old

I wish club manufacturers would stamp the loft on the bottom of the irons instead of giving them a number.

Have had the maltby te forged for a few years, reshafted them with Nippon modus3 105x last year. Amazing irons, wouldn't trade them for anything.

Yeah sucks to have to research what lofts each set has. As a general rule though all players irons are the same. I think GI and SGI vary though.

I think Tiger's PW is like 50 or 51 degrees.

To be fare if the cg is so god awful and low with awful 80 gram shafts it launches 5 degrees higher then meh

Demo day at the club yesterday and all the major manufacturers were there.

Callaway

Tried the Rogue 3 wood. They didn't have a lefty sub-zero or a x-stiff shaft so I swung the Aldila Synergy staff in stiff flex. Club felt really solid for the set-up. I could see this being much longer than my Epic 3w. I rented a Graphite Design BB 8x for my 3 wood from Shaft Shack to try in my current gamer. If I like it I'm going to order the Rogue in that set-up but in 13.5*.

Titleist

Hit a 718 AP2 7 iron with S300 shaft. Honestly didn't feel any different than my 716 AP2 irons.

Hit a 718 T-MB 3 iron. Same feel as my 716.

Hit a Vokey SM7 54* in my same grind and bounce as my SM5. No difference to me there either.

Was able to grab some free golf balls though. Took a 2 pack of Velocity balls for an upcoming scramble and the Tour Soft for fun.

Looked at their stuff but never tried any of them. Twist Face would def not be for me.

They had their cool looking bus thing. I really like a lot of their clothes.

Also there were Foot Joy, Adidas, Greg Norman and some travel companies. Didn't stop by any of those.

There is a really big demo day at the range near my house next weekend. Callaway rep said he would have a Sub-Zero 3 wood there. They better cause you have to pay to get into that one.

There was also a DJ there. Keep in mind average age at my club is 60's or more. Was awesome to watch.

Wanted a mizuno mp 32 set but got hold of a great condition black nickel mp 68 set so decided to originally get a 3 and 4 iron as luv these clubs and prefer the heads in long irons.

Bit easier to hit than mp 68 long irons i'm hoping but luv the 68's in mid and short irons.

Maybe dumb idea idk but give it a shot as needed something with 21 degrees anyway. Look forward to testing anyway . Hopefully the rifle 6.5's aren't too stiff. Other shafts in irons are project x 5.5.

These look in better nick than most of the mp 32's I see on ebay. Although probably should have got forged grain to match the others liked the shaft and grip better on these.

Fav mizuno irons? I hear the jpx 900's are great.

Admiring Mizunos from a far. Might buy some the next time when getting irons. If I get a bit better and deem myself worthy heh. Friend likes his set, maybe mp32 but not totally sure.

Got the Orange whip. Tried to buy one during Florida trip but that proved surprisingly difficult. Was all out of mid-size in Finland but now got more in stock so got one. Pretty sure some old-school buddies will be rubbing their eyes and then laughing their ass off when I pull it off on first tee for warming up.

Callaway Rogue showed up today. Got in a quick range session and then went out and played 9. Reason I bought it was because it was more forgiving. 1st hole is a 500y par 5. I had 194y to the green, further than I have ever been on that hole. 327y par 4 I had 29y to the green.

This club is way easier to turn over to produce a draw. Guy I play interclub fourball with a lot was shocked to see me hit a draw and a straight ball on command. In love with it so far.

I need to remember to buy some rangefinder batteries and maybe a couple gloves. Looking forward to the start of the season.

I’ve been thinking about new irons. Hit the MP-18s on the Trackman at a golf show Sunday. They felt awesome. Also had an extra 5-10 yards on my normal distances.

Follow-up on this. I'm sure it's 95% swing change and 5% club but I continue to love this club. If you are looking for a driver, find a demo day and check it out.

I bought one last year (orange whip), outside of a warmup tool I didn't get much out of it.

They look great and get great reviews. I want some or MP 5's. Tried the mp5's but not mp 18's yet.

In Nippon Modus 3 120's. Tried these shafts and felt way better for me than project x or s300's.

I'm wanting to change to these or KBS C taper lite s(have in cobra utility iron and like it)

Would like to compare the modus 3 105's to 120's but not had chance. Anyone tried both?

Iron shafts are completely personal preference imo. Need to try all of them to see what you prefer.

Anyone have thoughts on the Flightscope Mevo? I'll probably pick one up shortly unless I'm advised not to. I need something to motivate me to go to the range and to provide feedback on my practice.

I won't likely be using the stickers so I guess I'll have to do with spin data, but I assume the other measurements are still useful for practice?

Bought a cheap pair of sunglasses off amazon. So far they are exceeding expectations. Nice case and 5 lenses included, not bad for $13.

I'm interested to see the next version of Game Golf, "Pro".

If it can aggregate what I do on a particular hole, especially based off of what I hit off the tee, I would snap buy it.

Sounds like they've made a lot of improvements. I found the original was too inaccurate (possibly due to bad maps at my home course which google appears to have updated) and too much of a pain in the ass to be useful. Might have to give it a shot.

Splurged on a Piretti Cottonwood 2 putter . Thing is the truth. Also got a Callaway XR 16 pro 3 wood and regripped my irons.

Oh yea but I fortunately got a great deal. My tax returns have been very kind to the golf industry the past few years.

Callaway Rogue 5 wood. After deciding to play a stronger 3 wood (14* now, soon to be 13.5) I needed a longer fairway wood to go after the par 5's in 2. The lower lofted 3 wood is tough to get airborne unless I have an absolutely perfect lie.
