You need a high fps video on your phone, newer android and iPhones have had 120/240 fps for a while

Bought a Cobra F7 driver recently off the GolfWRX forums. The key is that this guy included both stiff and regular shafts — I've been wanting to try a regular for a while now, as my somewhat reliable fade was turning into a slice more often than I liked; I figured I just wasn't getting through the ball enough.

With the regular shaft and 12-gram weight in the heel position (there are three different spots for weights), it was great. Baby fade most of the time, no slices.

I wanted to try a heavier weight in that spot, but Cobra wants like $25 plus shipping for a 16-gram weight, which is idiotic. Then I found out that Ping G30 weights also fit the Cobra F7, and you can find sets of varying generic weights on Amazon for like $15-$20.

Got them yesterday. Put the 16 gram in the heel and a 6 gram in the back. Now everything goes either dead straight or draws. I couldn't fade this thing if I tried.

It's going to be really weird aiming down the right side of the fairway. I honestly don't know if I can make myself do it after all these years. Has anyone else done the completely-change-your-normal-ball-flight thing? Is the mental part difficult?

I got mine ordered, happy to finally be able to get my hands on some. Surprised there isn't more excitement on the forum for this.

4 dozen landed today, 8 dozen more on way. Love the K-Sigs. I've still never actually seen anyone else playing one. Has anyone here seen them in the wild?

If you guys really need 27 dozen golf balls you should maybe invest some of that money in lessons

2 dozen last me about a month in the simulator. i play 2 rounds a day usually, often times more.

once they get too scuffed, they are hard on the screen with all the spin. Also more prone to misreads on Skytrak. Less so on GC2 I've noticed though as many more pictures are taken of each shot.

Just grabbed the Callaway GBB Epic Sub Zero, brand new w/ S shaft for $350 (yes, tree fiddy). Pretty stoked about this purchase. (I've been gaming the SLDR for too long).

I tested the M2, Titleist 917D and both Epic drivers at the beginning of the season on a trackman; stats pointed towards the Epic being the best choice by a good margin for me, but I couldn't justify spending $700+ on a driver - just out of principle.

Maybe a new Putter in the near future, but I think my set is good for awhile now;

D - Callaway Epic Sub Zero
5w - TM M2
3h - TM M1 (fav club)
A-5i - Callaway Apex
56° & 60° - Cleveland rtx?
P - Odyssey 2-ball

It anything, I might switch up my Putter for something with a heavier head.

Anyone try the 2 iron by Titleist (716 T-MB)? My buddy grabbed it and swears by it (after 2 rounds)... I have no clue.
Thoughts?

I love my SZ as well. Pairing it with the right shaft makes all of the difference in the world.

I had the 3 iron with a Tour AD shaft in it. It just seemed too light and the head just didn't feel right to me. I had it for a month or two then got rid of it. Now that I am hitting my 4I really good off the tee I wish I still had it to give it another go.

At some point I'm going to try the 718 AP2 and AP3 3-irons to see if those can make the bag. Not going to get the graphite shaft in it though.

Thanks for your input, Scotty - much appreciated.

Any takes on putters?

Odyssey vs Scotty vs Bettinardi? Overpriced or worth it? If the latter, why?

Cheers!

Find some cheaper models and find the style you like first. After that you can get a higher end one once you are settled. Are they worth it? Probably not, but that doesn't stop me. I am on my 2nd Scotty this year so far. At least they hld their value pretty well in case you want to sell it later.

Took the plunge on the Cobra King LTD driver with stock stiff shaft. Amazon had it new for $169 which is about 70 bucks cheaper than I've seen it anyplace else. Will be interested to test it and see the numbers on the Trackman vs my old Diablo Edge with a regular shaft. I wasn't sure about stiff vs reg, my driver SS is about 99mph, but the Diablo felt very whippy and I've been spraying it all over the place.

m2 3w to replace my r9 and join my m2 driver and 5w.

i hit the m2 3w 15 yards further then the r9 on average. love it.

oh also, 5 mg gloves. can't beat them at $8 per. nice thick leather too.

recently got a new driver, a taylor made m2. got it custom fitted for a fade clubface cuz my normal shot is a 30 yard hook, it feels weird holding the club at address (something i didn't experience while testing the club). like if i address it normally the clubface is pretty far open. i've had to get into a habit of adjusting it so clubface is sorta normal at address, otherwise i block the ball 50 yards to the right.

in any case, the rare times i am making good contact i am sending it 300 yards, so that's a nice thing. but i suck so far

i'm going from aiming one fairway to the right for the last 10 years to now aiming sorta down the left side of the fairway, very weird adjustment

Got to try out my new Cobra King LTD driver on trackman yesterday and compare it to my old Callaway Diablo Edge. Absolutely loved the feel of the Cobra with the stiff shaft. Has a great sound at impact. Did not get to try too many loft settings but the Cobra was consistently 10-15 yds longer and way straighter. Swing speed was about 2mph higher. I started out at 9.5 standard then for the heck of it tried 11.5 draw setting. Was actually getting better distance with the added loft. Draw bias was great, started down the right and consistently drew towards the middle.

This is a great club, I think once I get the perfect loft dialed in I might even find a few more yards. Very happy with it so far.

Side note about trackman... The trackman data is awesome, for example I learned that attack angle has a HUGE effect on distance. My drives with a +3 or 4 were well longer then when I hit down at -3 or 4. My swing speed was constant around 95 so the ability to add distance without swinging faster, by knowing more about how I am contacting the ball, will be a big help out on the course. Also learned I was hitting my irons way too much on a negative angle (like -11), too much forward press at setup. Trackman is an amazing tool and I really hope it will help me improve over the winter.

That's awesome; AoA is definitely important driving the ball and many of the best drivers hit way up on it (Rory comes to mind and his twitter beefs with Brandel).

Enjoy - I'm still loving my LTD and planning to keep it in the bag for a while
