putter grips: I find that is reduces the wrist action when putting. I switched over 3 yrs ago and have not looked back.

iron/metal grips: personal preference. I would suggest putting one on a club and giving it a try to see if you like the feel/results.

Its all going to come down to personal preference.

Good choice. Have you ever been fit for a putter? The best $20 I have ever spent. Took me from a teen handicap to single digit handicap in a few short months. Putter is now at 31 inches.

Replaced my irons yesterday. Moving on from my Wilson Staff Di7 cavity backs, got a new set of TaylorMade R11 irons. KBS 90 stiff steel shafts, 4-G for 499. I think its a pretty good deal. Taking them out tomorrow and Sunday, can't wait.

Already had a RBZ 10.5 degrees but bought a RBZ 9.5 driver, RBZ 3-wood and RBZ hybrid for a total of $350 and they are basically new. Bought them from a friend and hence the good price.

bought a new Callaway 3-wood. i had a R11 but we didn't get along. i played the last 2 months without one in the bag...but I have cleared my mind and returned to fairway wood world.

Have been very tempted to buy an xhot 3 wood but I love my RBZ 3 wood so much that I can't really justify it. Put a 44 in shaft in it that is tipped like crazy and only hit it off the tee, thing is longer than my R9 supertri with a great ballflight.

Marketing, probably. Why doesn't PING make the PING Eye2 anymore? They all have to say they have a new and improved product with new technology.

Actually that is only true of woods - my irons tend to stay with me for 3 seasons. i just got MP-59's this spring and love them so they will make it at least 2 more years before they run out of good shots!!

Went to Golfsmith today and tried on some shoes. The best comfort+style I found for myself within what I wanted to spend was:

Picking them up from Vans tomorrow. They will be my first golf shoes.
