yeah it's incredibly forgiving and still plenty long. I was a bit put off by the crown at first but now I dig it.

lusting after the new i series irons too.

Driver/Shaft controversy incoming : Both preowned 12* R15s, 460 on left & 430 on the right. Saw the 430 for 95$ starting bid unclaimed on ebay and couldn't resist. Was listed as very good and it looks almost new. I badly want to get on a monitor and try all 4 head/shaft combinations.

Went to a shop to get gloves and maybe buy a putter - walked away with a Scotty golo, a sm5 vokey and a Ping G30 driver. Was 50% off list prices since shop is closing, those cost 500e total so not too bad. Driver would have taken the G (partly because comments here), but they were gone. It´s now my first stiff club, guy said I could bring it back, but after range and a round pretty sure I´m keeping it, felt good and hit a bit longer than previous.

Haha yep, but as long as I don´t buy a golf club share I consider it a success (no idea how they work elsewhere, but here you would be a total fool to buy one).

I bought a box of the Callaway 'soccer' ball the other day. Been using them ever since. Big fan of the feel but especially the look. It appears bigger to the eye and is really fun to watch rolling around on the greens. When you hit chips you can see the spin on the ball too. They're fun but also a really good golf ball. Also a touch softer than the Prov1.

i think that ball would really screw up my putting and chipping. i've got enough crap floating around up there already and introducing something that catches my eye probably wouldn't end well.

Back in the day - like 25/30 years ago - I had an Acushnet rep tell me that the original Pinnacle Gold and original Titleist DT ball came off the same manufacturing line, they just got stamped differently. Anyone know if that is still the case?

I found it made my chipping and putting better, not worse. That's maybe in my mind only but that's my impression from the last few rounds.

Buy three of them and give them a try. I think you'll like them.

i'll give them a shot. i def like the fact that i should just be able to plop them down in front of the skytrak without needing to rotate the logo towards the camera. you don't reallllly need to, but it's a good habit to avoid missed reads.

I check the wrx forum all the time but they all want to sell it with their upcharged shafts for $500. No thanks.

Do you own a shaft you like already? Or have you tried and liked the common shaft in it (Fujikura Pro)? If so, preowned is good.

If not, I'd go get fitted/try a bunch of shafts at a retailer. There are ~30 no upcharge options when you buy new.
