Just in case anyone is wondering I called Nike and confirmed the serial number with them. I've read that some companies aren't willing to do that but Nike was very friendly about it.

Sounds good.

I've been getting 4 dozen Nike SFT balls for $50, this season from my local Golftown. Feels like a good deal but not sure.

Beats getting boxes of Titleist NXT Tour S balls at ~$45 per dozen, and 20 used Titleist balls for $20 (for that time when you know you're gonna yip it up).

Oh there are just so many. It really boils down to personal preference. You need to find one that just lets you feel the club the best and stick with it. I've found "the one" in the Diamana whiteboard

Picked up Game Golf and played my first round with it today - I am really impressed.

It worked with no fiddling, never lost the gps-signal, tagged the clubs immediately and was just totally hassle free on the course.

Checking the round afterwards it was impressively accurate - I looked through my round and couldn't find any shots that weren't just where I remembered them. In one case it gave me a GIR where I had actually putted from just outside the green, but it was so close to the green that I can't really fault it for that.

Also, the course I was playing today was not listed as course ready for use with Game Golf when I ordered the device. I requested it to be made earlier this week and it was ready in less than 24 hours, well in time for todays round.

Only slight worry I have is that it showed the battery as 'low' when I connected it after the round - I charged it for 3-4 hours which should be more than enough for a full charge according to the manual and only played a 9 hole round which took less than 90 minutes. Battery should be good for about 10 hours according to the manual but I'll try it for a while and get it replaced if it turns out the battery is bad.

I got my wedges re-gripped today with the new Golf Pride CP2 Wrap - medium grip.

I went in looking to grab the gp mcc grips, but I gave these a quick test and had to go with them.

Are they more like the multi compounds or the tacky tour wraps? Looks more towards the TW tackiness.

The latter. I went in looking to grab the multi-compounds initially until I actually held these things (CP2 Wrap) and just really liked the feel of them. Plus, it didn't hurt that they had different sizes available, in stock (I got the medium, but was very close to getting the jumbos for my wedges).

None of this really means anything until I actually hit my wedges first; if they're as good as I expect them to be, I may regrip more of my clubs. We'll see.

What irons are right for you really depend on how you play.

If you have a GolfTown near you, I'd highly recommend paying them a visit. Their sales reps don't get paid off commission, so they will try to help find something that suits your abilities without pushing up your budget. However, 400$ isn't going to get you very far when it comes to Irons, unless you buy used.

Yea, if you raise your budget to ~$600, your options quadruple. As is, the TM RocketBladez seem like decent value for $400.
Like spotts said, go to Golftown and ask for advice and test them out yourself.

Can save money buying off ebay if you know what you want, but if trying to figure out what you want it is best to hit them and talk to someone who can factor in swing speed etc.

We all start somewhere, it was a good question. To elaborate on golftown, there is no commitment at all. You can go in, hit clubs off the rack to see what you like and then purchase them elsewhere. However, their prices are pretty competitive

I've been struggling with Titleist 913 for the past year, mostly due to the shaft in my opinion, so I bought an SLDR TP with a souped shaft on eBay for $115 after hitting my buddies. Great value. The shaft in it is a Fujikura Motore Speeder TS 7.3, 77 grams, x-stiff. It's a laser maker. The shaft is worth more than the club head.

SLDR is great as long as you hit the center of the face every time.

Was looking to get a Ping ES 62 degree wedge since I love my Eye 2 sand wedge which is still in my bag. Found out the biggest loft they have is 60 degree and they can bend it only 1 more. Didn't seem worth it since the old Eye 2 SW is 57.7.

Decided to go to eBay and get an old Eye 2 Lob Wedge for $45 shipped. Should arrive by the weekend.

Just got word that my new Scotty GoLo 7 came in at the course. I got the counter balance version at 40" - can't wait to roll some putts with it. Got it for $300, so a little under retail. Scotty's are always overpriced but whatever, it's my 7th one. I've been looking for a heavier putter so I hope I like it.

Agreed, mi****s aren't horrible though. I'm gonna get on the launch monitor at my club in Sunday and play around with some other Speeder's and an Oban that's tipped 1/2 an inch. Gonna be hard to get me switch though.

Update:

They are crap. They don't really hold up to wet weather too well.

And more importantly, they feel good, in a vacuum, but just aren't suited to be gripped on my wedges--which generally require a lot of feel.

Just grabbed a 56* Cleveland RTX 2.0 today. Have a business tourney tomorrow, so we'll see how it fairs. (as of now, it looks and feels great, but the massive grooves seem... interesting).

Going to re-re-grip the clubs then?

No. I was experimenting with grips on my wedges because I was looking to replace them anyway (Cleveland CG 15). As mentioned in the post above, I bought a new 56* (RTX 2.0) and will see how that fairs for my game before I replace my 60*.

As for grips, I feel like those specific wraps are a terrible idea for clubs that require more feel (like wedges) - - at least for me.
