Yeah I've always used Standard grips and I really want to get my grips sized up this offseason.

I'd say a Men's large glove is comfortably snug for me, and the grips have always felt a bit small but I've just gotten used to them.

Well I took the bats out today for the 1st time in like 5 days with the new thicker grips on my driver and 7 iron. Every shot I hit with them I missed it left ... Honestly felt so rusty though, I'm playing all over this weekend so will see how it goes.

Golf bag was splitting at the top so either going to flog it or just use it on a trolley.

But went and got a Ping Hoofer lite just hearing only good things about the hoofer series so will give it a whirl.

I did have my wife sew some velcro pads on one bag and that held the main storage area with the long zipper for a while.

do you happen to be over-stuffing the pockets?
by sheer coincidence are they always for the pocket that keeps the beer?

i can't speak to other brands, but the last three bags i've purchased are sun mountain, and i've never had problems with the zippers including those on the waterproof bag.

The Titleist Sta dry Hybrid bag I got is solid. Other than the little split at the top but I'm not one to look after my golf bag. The only bad thing I could say is that it starts to get a little heavy if carrying and you like to fill it up a bit and it's a bit chunky but it's a hybrid bag so as expected.

I've had a Sun Mountain bag and they are very good I would say they are probs the best bags around but they are on the pricey side.

Love my Sun Mountain bag. Will actively try and purchase SM stuff more if I have the opportunity.

Looks like some new Cleveland wedges are coming out in the spring so I jumped on the price drop of the Zip Core wedges; 50/54/58 and ordered up some KBS C-Taper shafts from my fitter/builder. Should be all put together and ready to try in Florida in January.

It looks awesome for the money, there is currently one video out that attempts to validate the numbers and they quickly compare spin for PW, 7i and driver to a GC Quad (see youtube link below). Considering its approximately one 20th of the price it's unbelievable.

Excited to see more info and should be able to spend some time hitting on it in a few weeks when the vendor get their demo unit in.

Figured it will likely sell out so I can either see the order through and potentially sell at a profit or I've got until it ships (end of March) to cancel for a full refund.

I've previously had a mevo+ (I felt like a beta tester and for £2k I didn't want to be) and a Garmin R10 (good for the money but awful with spin axis) but this really looks like it could be a game changer.

be careful buying a launch monitor for the specific purpose of analyzing the numbers to improve your game. those number will have you chasing swing changes that can ruin you for years.

Whilst I'm not a huge fan of this (obviously) if it is as accurate as is being claimed this device is a bargain for what it is; even factoring in the $199 yearly sub and $65 for a dozen balls.
Given how much the driving range costs these days and the ability to be able to be hitting balls within 5 minutes at home I would probably recoup this cost is 1 month.

I definitely won't be chasing numbers. I cannot justify the cost of using the driving range given I'm a member and can just go and play one of 3 courses for 'free'.
So I literally never practice outside of the course. I'm around a 14 handicap and think the main limiting factor for me is lack of practice. The ability to be able to go outside during a break from work and hit 100 balls a few times a week would massively improve my ball striking.
I would love to get a few more lessons but, with the current lack of practice it's pointless. This will allow me to get professional advice and actually work on improving.
I would also like to work on my wedge game which this would again allow me to do.

As always, when getting fit at CC you have to make damn sure your fitter is competent. Some are good, some are not.

Question, How would you know if the fitter is competent before hand? I personally went to a well recommended golf club by some scratch handicappers but later realised that the scratch handicapper didn't believe in fittings


If you can't find out if he's competent before hand, Without being insulting or rude what's the best way to go about this when you're at the fitting and talking to he/she?





Thankfully when I got fit the guy was alright, The only **** bit about the fitting was the putter. It was raining outside and he basically was like I don't want us to be out there for to long. He said basically grab a few you like the look of and then we went out side and hit a few putts with each one and I just pick the one I liked the feel of the most. At this place they had no devices to get numbers from putting. Luckily the putter has been decent for me. I do want to try a half mallet vs my full mallet though and I went through a stage of not being able to hole anything and was really debating getting a half mallet but right now the greens have been ropey and really not rolling well so I just this short spell of bad putting down to that.

Without numbers you really can't get a competent putter fitting IMO.

Word of mouth is really the best thing you can do about getting a good fitter. There must be something out there on the interwebs I would think. Where, no idea.

I only played about 5 -10 rounds a year and shoot anywhere from mid 80's to low 100's. I average breaking 100 consistently

I upgraded my driver to the PXG 211 for Christmas see how that feels

Lozen, I don't know your budget but if you can test out the Stealth irons then they might work for you. I use these Irons and I'm off 11 but they are a game improvement iron so they would help the majority of people.

Just to clarify, I use the older version of the stealth which came out last year. Not the stealth HD irons that recently just come out, but as you were looking at the Wilson launch pads they might be a option for.
