Enjoy!
Fitting was so-so at best. Went to the local Roger Dunn (as there are no good club fitters locally) and tried a few clubs. I was playing a Titelist 910D3 10.5 degree driver with a 41" Mitsubishi Kai'li stiff shaft ( had it cut down to make a more controllable). I knew the shaft was too stiff, but never got around to getting fitted/changing it. Fitter had be hit a few balls and my swing speed was between 95-99. Ended up fitting me to Taylormade Stealth 10.5 degree set down to 9 degrees with a 44" 40gram fujikura speeder shaft, regular flex. Launch angles were @16 degrees with 2100rpm spin.

After 2+ years of some pretty massive swing changes, I think I'm finally close to what feels like my permanent, repeatable swing. Once that's comfortable I want to do ideally my last driver + fairway wood fitting for 6-10 years.

In the city it seems like my options are fairly limited to GolfTec or Club Champion, I'm sure driving out to the suburbs would yield some more options.
Given a choice between a random GolfTec and a random Club Champion I'd choose CC because they offer more selections of clubs and shafts.

In chain stores it's just all about the fitter you get. If he knows his stuff and is truly devoted to fitting you properly vs. just sticking you with thousands of dollars of clubs that may or may not work, then you'll be in good shape.

Any tips/clues I can look for to make sure I'm not just getting the dude randomly clicking buttons and choosing the highest fee/highest commission options?

I'm pretty familiar with all the Trackman stats/data and such, usually have a driver swing speed somewhere in the 103-108 range.

Knowledge is power. If you know some stuff about fitting and the process then odds are lower you won't get swindled.

One tip I would pass along, if you don't like the look of a club then say so. Doesn't matter how you may or may not hit it, if it's ugly to you then it's not going to work. No different than a woman who's great in the sack but you don't find her at all attractive.

Same with the shafts, if you don't like the feel of a shaft, then say so. This is a much rarer occurrence however than not liking the look of a club head.

Don't let someone put you in a club you aren't 100% comfortable with.

Does anyone have an opinion on this? Right now I'm using a swing stick position at 1:00 and Just swinging over and over in my backyard hitting the stick So I can get used to the direction my club should be traveling. Wondering how this might work?

Maxfli swing thing looks of questionable value at first glance, but then I thought it could be combined with the green hitting mats that show how the club is interacting with the turf.

No purchase but I did sign up for a free Titleist TSR fitting next weekend. Good excuse to hit a few different shafts on a Trackman, very curious what the results will be.

Got these today, Recently my feet have been killing me and the most comfortable pair I have is the cheap Nike shoes but they literally have no grip on them. Hopefully these will do the job.

UA shoes just don't seem to fit me well. I don't have a narrow foot but they just feel too tight to me.

On another note I had to UPS my FootJoys back to Carl's Golfland after 4 months. I kept getting wet feet so I thought the waterproof stopped working. Turns out the left shoe BOA kept loosening on it's own. I would have to turn it several clicks every other hole to keep em tight. As for why the right shoe was letting in water I have no idea.

Carl's is always great to deal with. Emailed support and got an email back within the hour with a return label.

Understandable Scott I'm the opposite and have quite narrow feet.

One thing I have noticed is when I look down with golf shoes on my feet seem massive and clunky I think I need to buy a .5 size smaller. Normally I buy a Size 9 in the UK with normal trainers, Football/Soccer boots and they fit nice, I've yet to find that Shoe that fits super well.

I did play with these on and they are comfortable and light the grip on them seems really good. They are spikeless but they are basically spikes but just everywhere on the bottom of the shoe.

i've been a footjoy guy for years now but don't have a pair of the boas. fj's sizing is amazingly consistent, and they also offer width options in most, if not all, of their shoes.
i'm a US 11.5 medium and i don't even have to try on shoes before buying...i know they'll fit.

Replacement FootJoys arrived from Carl's Golfland.

Also was in SoCal this week so I decided to drive the 1 hour to the Scotty store. Get there and yeah, the inside of the store is not open. They have items that are for sale in their windows. You fill out a form and they get it for you. Lame AF. Of course I bought two towels and a t-shirt.

We could have a fun fill in the blank where the blank has to be something Caddyshack related.

How I imagine Scott __________

It could be dressing. It could involve Lacey Underall.......

I've honestly been thinking of going to bigger grips. I wear a small glove, Probably should wear a medium bit I do like a tighter fight.

Will be interesting to hear your thoughts. I think I may change one and see how I go with them.

I can tell you I previously played a midsize grip, but when I bought new clubs they came with standard, and I've been fighting them since the day I got them. The problem is I get the club in my fingers, and from there I start pulling shots with everything....midsize almost forces me to get the club more through the palm, and the result tends to be better shots. had one range session and the difference was night and day.

If you have a spare club, I'd say give it a try and see if it is comfortable. Again, for me standard always felt too small. Not sure why it took me this long to go back to mid size.

Grip size can definitely change a lot of things. The quick and dirty is that the smaller the grip the more hand action you have in the swing. The bigger the grip the less hand action.

We did have a lot of success increasing grip size in one hand or the other with players that had arthritis.

So a lot of golfers fight a slice, if you go bigger in grip size this will almost certainly make the slice worse because of the lack of hand action.

In general, one with small hands should never go bigger because of this.

Everybody is different and will affect golfers differently. But just because a bigger grip feels better doesn't necessarily mean it will affect your stock shot favorably.

I ordered 2 last night, Just going to stick it on the driver and one on a 7 iron and see how it goes.

I don't really ever slice the ball if I do hit it right it's more of a block. My bad shot is the low left hook ball smothery type shot.

Will see how it goes I'm all for trying new things and changing back it back if it doesn't really work.

Well, my iron play and chipping is noticeably better with new grips. Driver is a still a problem, but that is not surprising. A couple of looks at birdie were a nice change.

Be sure if you're thinking about changing grip size to measure your hand. I'm right at the border for std/mid, and probably could have 3 wraps just as easily.
