Update: only three rounds in, but I love it. It took me less time than I thought it would to get used to the difference in speed control. In my head I started thinking about it like a pendulum (even though I don't swing that way) and focused on length of backswing and "letting the club do the work." Accuracy is just stupid good...it pretty much goes exactly where I intend it to go.

I've always been an above-average putter, but I'm still dropping multiple putts a round.

Ordered the new TM Stealth 8.0 with a ventus black 7x tipped 1 inch @45.25. Haven't hit it yet but loved the original sim, and am excited they're bringing back adjustable weights.

I presume that's a shaft you have familiarity with/have been fit in another driver?

How do you decide on loft when buying without hitting?

Ah yes, you righties get to choose an 8* driver. Not me!

I had the same shaft last year until it was accidentally splintered on a day when I wasn't feeling particularly mellow.

I also usually end up in the 7.5 to 8 range on drivers... assume it's similar to the m5/sim/sim2, so worst case I can sell or readapt the shaft if I don't like it. I have the hulk 6.5tx in a taylormade tip too which is a great shaft. I'd rather go up loft in the sleeve too and make the head slightly more draw biased, not a fan of a driver that sits super open. Going down in loft sleeve will usually open the face.

Very few fitters have much gear that works for my SS, so I've done a lot of experimenting off ebay and from friends who swing hard too. Ventus is a nice shaft, reason a ton of guys are gaming it.

I am probably due for driver this summer, currently gaming a Cobra LTD from I guess 2016.

I think a goal of mine this spring/early summer wound be to hit a few of the demo days and maybe just get a feel for some of the options.

Ya always great to get fit. I just know club champion, true spec, and the other few local fitters probably only have maybe 7 shafts between them that would work for me.

Old equipment is really good still at this point. The old callaway epic stuff launches like a rocket. I just can’t help myself

See the new Cobra stuff got released today... Probably very close to getting a fit now just wondering is there any other companies that we know of coming out with stuff in the next couple of months, I think we've had Cobra, TM, Titleist, Callaway already

I think Titleist only come out with Irons and Ping said they won't come out with a new Driver until 2023.

I'm more than due an upgrade with my 2012 RBZ Driver and my 2010 Wilson Staff Ci9 Irons.

New grips, and boy are they ugly! Ah well, haha.

Am I the only one that loves regripping my clubs myself? It's almost like mowing the yard or cleaning a gun. Very therapeutic.

I do it, too...and love it. Even when I have to redo it. Nostalgia sets in from when I used to work in the bag room off a couple of clubs.

I'm just getting back into golf after a long hiatus, so I've been experimenting with different grips to figure out what kind I like. And with my play/practice volume I usually regrip every 6 months or so anyway.

I'll give Wynn a shot next time around, any specific ones you like?

I play maybe a dozen rounds a year and practice a handful of times. I probably grip too tight, so I regrip a few every summer.

The weather grips work, since I don't hate playing in inclement weather.

i also find satisfaction in the process of regripping my own clubs. lately it's been with the golf pride new compound. seems to be a good overall fit between hot and cold/rainy weather

I'm way too lazy to do it. There is a golf shop in the flea market about 5 mins from my house that does great club work.

Ordered a Callaway super-hybrid 4h today after hitting a demo. Loved the look at address and the face is hot as hell!

The 4h seems to be a great gap down from my 3w. A couple weeks on the order but we’re still a ways out on golf season here.

Also hit the stealth driver and a 5w. Liked the look and sound of those but not really in the market for a driver and want to hit it outside anyway.

Had a good year last year, so next week getting on my club's new Trackman and seeing if a club upgrade makes sense. My current clubs are 6 years old, and while I was fitted for them, I had only just got back into golf and hadn't really practiced. Interested to see what they suggest.

Getting fit for wedges today. Not really tied to any brand and just going to go with what I hit best.

If I had a sim in my house I would need a back-up set of everything at a minimum cause those clubs would be worn out fast.

Bought a couple gloves. Getting ready for the season, there is a chance I might get out Sunday. The last two days have been beautiful but too busy at work.
