I have a 3-wood, 4-wood, and 3-iron, so I feel there's some redundancy. My PW is 45°, and I go 52 then 58. If I pull the 4-wood, I have room for another club.

Does anyone have any experience with a 64° club? Is it worth even considering?

Do you mean the SC200? If so yes I have one and think its worth it. I've compared it to Trackman numbers and seems reasonably accurate considering the price.

Those are big gaps in a very critical range. I would change that up. 45, 50, 54 would be much better and then toss in the 58 or a 60 if you feel the need. I personally would dump the 4w for a hybrid in the 17-20 degree range.

It sucks. I've played a few times in last week, and my long irons and 4-wood have been rock solid. I've hit more par 5s in two with my 4-wood, 3-iron, and 4-iron than I have with my 5 and 6 irons (about the same number of chances).

I guess I'm going to stand pat for now.

Just bought a lefty Ping 7 iron off the bay to mess around with. Don't really have a slot in the bag for it, it'll just be for fun.

I got PW, GW, 58 degree SW then. 64 degree lob wedge. I use my 64 like 95% of the time because I'm really good at hitting all types of shots with it but it's probably not for everyone.

finally bit the bullet and purchased a fitted club...

8 iron, half inch long, 3 degrees upright. ping i2000. stiff shaft....... seems good so far. probably will do it for 6 iron through GW. divots are much more shallow and point much straighter vs. giant pull divot.

ashamed to say i've put on some weight recently. some of it medication related and some related to lack of discipline etc... anyway, on the road to losing weight but i have a product question...

are there golf pants - shorts or long - with 100% elastic waistband? if not, i think it's great idea. 100% elastic waist but looks like golf pants. obviously you'd need tapered elasticity or small gaps down the pants so that they are completely expandable... i own pants that are mixed elastic and hard fabric but i hit the ball so well with elastic waist band workout shorts.

Getting fit for a club is so important. Last time I was fitted for irons I went to a Titleist Thursday event. Not exactly a custom fit but he keyed in on something so important it changed my iron play forever.

Next time I get fit for irons I'm going to go to the TPI and get completely fit.

Rivercity -- so many of the newer synthetic material clothing is so stretchy now. In particular I find Underarmor clothing to be great for that. It's a sleek fit usually but the band's and material always has some stretch to it making it super comfy.

i have tons of puma shirts and nike shirts - alot of nike are college football shirts..

i realize all my favourite shirts are non-puma-nike... generally all my favourite shirts were bought at burlington coat factory or similar discount stores.. they are generally calvin klein, perry ellis and associated brands, rlk?? ralph klein??, cheap ncaa football brands......... the reason i like them is 3 fold: 1) form fitting which puma/nike never are. they seem to make XL and XXL so that they can accomdate really long torsos and big bellies - so the shirts are like tents; 2) often stretchy which i really like; 3) often quite interesting fabrics like liquidcotton and things like that. cotton that feels really nice.

any thoughts on where you can buy non-dominant polo shirt brands online other than the obvious A.com... thx advance

p.s. almost everyone who ever seems them compliments me on the perry ellis shirts and wants to know where to buy one

and of course, i could buy these at BCF but 1) i don't live in usa 2) it is extremely hit/miss for this stuff.

RIP to my hard case for travel. Looks like this new:


On the return flight home the first trip with it one of the three clasps snapped. On the next trip I bought a strap to go around the case just to be safe (proved to be worth it later). Next to go was another clasp leaving only the middle one. The strap came in handy as the middle clasp came open 2 trips ago which would have left it wide open if not for the strap.

Fast forward to last week and they snapped the handle on top of the case, the one you use to pull it with the wheels. That left me hauling 50 lbs of awkward case around the rest of the trip.

Oh yeah, the wheels on the bottom bent after about 5 trips so it would only roll one way, and not easily either.

tldr: 2 clasps, 1 handle and bent wheels after about 12 trips.

RIP after 18 months.
