I am a ping guy. I live in arizona so I am like 10 minutes from the ping factory here in phoenix and the service is second to none. Every single time I have had an issue with a club/golf bag from ping they immediately fix it, often times in a few hours and/or the next day.

I love the way the clubs feel and the forgiveness as well but clubs are all personal opinion.

Got some new rain gloves at the same time.

Have just enough money in my winnings account at the club to pay for them.
Arrived today! They fit well and the rain gloves seem to be pretty good after I tried them out in the back garden.

No rain forecast for the weekend though, so not going to get them tested in action just yet.

I could not agree more w/durango. I have playing pings for many years now. Currently gaming I20 4-L (10 irons) and the 4 iron did not feel right. Bought the clubs new last fall when they came out. Went to the big box store to have the 4 iron sent back. The club came back a week later, re shafted and re gripped no charge.

I get the feeling that Taylormade gives really good incentives to all these retail stores. I find the sales people are always trying to push me towards one of their products, even at the risk of spending more and grabbing a Titleist or Ping.

It worked though.

I had an older TM driver sitting around...I ended up trading it in and grabbing an R1 for like $200 (ended up getting $100 off, plus an additional $150 off for the trade in). I already have a new driver, but I couldn't resist.

Worked at Golfsmith for a short period. Definitely no incentives from bigger brands. Would push people to buy Golfsmith stuff (snake eyes/lynx) because commission was way better on those.

snake eyes clothes are actually pretty solid imo, and they're clubs used to be really good too, i thinking they're pretty much phasing out the clubs though

Just bought a Sun Mountain Micro-Cart (http://www.sunmountain.com/view/prod...ory_id/14.html) for $80 off craigslist, retail $190. Brand new. Feeling pretty good about it.

Good to hear; I'm pretty excited. It's the one I wanted over the Speed Cart (which is apparently heavier, harder to fold, and bulkier, which surprised me), and pretty impossible to find for $80, even used. I still couldn't help myself and tried to talk him down, albeit weakly. To his credit he didn't do it.

Put a Super Stroke Fatso on my putter, and after 72 holes I'd encourage everyone to do so. It just feels SO much better.

It's not a good sign that I'm bumping this thread and my post is the last one. Anyway, picked up a G25 driver at a really good price after hitting it at Golf Galaxy. I had my driver (Sasquatch Dymo2) on me so I was able to compare the two, and I just consistently crushed the G25 well past my old driver.

Course results have validated my purchase; my misses are close to where I've been usually hitting it, and my good shots are giving me shots I haven't seen before. The course I joined in September is longer than what I'm used to (its ~6400 from the whites, 6700 from the blues) and that extra length, which is consistently 10-15+ extra yards, puts me into scoring irons (if I could hit those). Even more important, my misses aren't as extreme.

Bought a set of Callaway HL Iron set. Added 2" to the club and regripped them with the Winn DriTac mid size grip. Really happy with them so far.

2" ? jeez how tall are you? Did you backweight them any?

6'5" I had the local pro do a fitting. I know it's not the best but did want to pay for a professional fitting. I hit in the virtual simulator for a while with various size extensions and decided on the 2" extensions. I normally shoot in the mid 90's so I am looking forward to working on breaking 90

Sigh. I'm the worst. So my post above re: the G25 was less than a month ago, but yesterday I bought a Nike Covert. While my misses weren't as extreme, I was still pushing it way more than I wanted to. The G25 is a stiff shaft, and while the Golf Galaxy guy said my swing was in the lower range for it I recently totally overhauled my grip and am (for now) swinging a bit slower. I probably would have stuck it out, but the Covert (brand new in plastic) popped up on Craigslist for $140. I talked him into $120 and away we go.

First time at the range felt really good, and I seem to be getting the same distance as the G25 if not a little more (I hit them back to back). Definitely more forgiving, although I only have a medium-bucket sample size.

I also like the red. So there.

Anyone interested in a used G25, stiff shaft?

Adding 2 inches to your irons would make them much harder to control and produce consistent quality contact right?

I feel like I can control my irons alright. The problem is with a stock set of irons with out extensions I am completely hunched over and can not fully extend. Plus it fells extremely uncomfortable.

I added 2 inches to my shaft, and performance hasn't been an issue.
