When I went to the last one they had us park on the fairway of one of the Ocean course holes which felt like vandalism. It was the first major I went to so I was a bit OMGOMGOMG, but I don't remember anything that wouldn't make me go back or consider it a bad venue. I had more fun at the practice rounds with fewer crowds and more freedom to roam the grounds.

SF in June sounds delightful. Much better than watching an Open at Southern Hills or in D.C.

I couldn't believe how cold SF was in July on a day with no clouds. I think Mark Twain said the coldest winter he ever experienced was a Summer in San Francisco.

+1... well... not the Twain part, that's false. But SF summers tend to be breezy, foggy, and lucky to get above room temperature -- at least when I visited my brother in the Army years ago.
