This is a top3 tough course on Tour (South) and although the North course is easier by score its just as tough on the body. Priority #1 has to be the back (we've seen this before). Happy that he's shown flashes, but he should absolutely be viewing this as a warmup to get his back used to handling this volume. Not sure if that benefits making the cut or missing the cut, even though good for the confidence, but these next 2 days are incredibly crucial for his back to not react badly. The good part is he's not flying off to play somewhere next week, and he'll have that rest till Riviera. But damn, I'm nervous for Sat and Sun.
