Tiger 22/1 I think. I remember when he was -120 against the field. And of course won.

So according to Tiger Tracker, the way he hit it today was not that far off, just a few ft here and there. Didnt take much time on putts and still shot -1. This is how the Tiger of old would do it. Always turning those rounds that should be a few over into a few under so that is encouraging. Still 0 sign of pain. HES BACK

Score: -1
Fairways: 6/14
Greens: 7/18
Putts: 25
Winces: 0

solid and unspectacular.

Around the Green +0.81
Driving +0.76
Approach -0.55
Putting -1.41

Misread 4 footer for par on 13, his 3 birdie putts totaled about 5 feet. No shotlink on the north tomorrow.

Just hoping his back stays painfree through this slug of a course, seems to be boding okay so far, but already saw him start flexing it a couple times after his round, looked a little stiff walking uphill (sure he'll get treatment). So more interested in the day after and the day after that and the day after that. He's also catching a break with weather warming into the weekend, lucky for the back.

Highlight, almost a hole in 1 today

I'm as big a Tiger cynic at this point as anyone but you have to be impressed with making the cut here. This is a top3 tough course on Tour (South) and although the North course is easier by score its just as tough on the body. If you haven't walked these course it's hard to describe how much undulation they have. Both up and down and right to left so that are barely any flat spots in any of the fairways. The ball is almost invariably above or below your feet and you are hitting up or down into the greens almost every hole. Throw in the thick pacific fed poa annua rough, the sea level/side ball that doesn't fly and you get your beast course. If Tiger finishes here healthy he will have done great. I did think Riviera was a better "start" course for Tiger...

Completely agree. While I was rooting for him, I thought he had very little chance of making the cut here. If he emerges from this healthy, gets a few tournaments under his belt and gets back into tournament shape, we could be looking at one of the all time great comeback stories.

A friend and myself hold 2 tickets to Masters Sunday. Going rate on StubHub is north of $1700 each. I asked if we wanted to hold them and try to hit the lottery that Tiger makes the final few groups. He wants to sell before he snaps in half.

Decisions, decisions.

If the only consideration is Tiger making Masters Sunday you should probably sell, but srsly - unless you've been there already how do you sell out on a Masters Sunday?

I honestly don't care to go on a tournament day. If I could get Monday or Tuesday practice round tickets I would snap go. I just want to walk the course, don't really care to watch people play.

The Masters takes selling tickets very seriously. You get caught and you'll never set foot on property again.

I do agree with your opinion that Mondays are better than Sundays. It's the one event where it's all about the course and not the players/tournament.

Priority #1 has to be the back (we've seen this before). Happy that he's shown flashes, but he should absolutely be viewing this as a warmup to get his back used to handling this volume. Not sure if that benefits making the cut or missing the cut, even though good for the confidence, but these next 2 days are incredibly crucial for his back to not react badly. The good part is he's not flying off to play somewhere next week, and he'll have that rest till Riviera. But damn, I'm nervous for Sat and Sun.

To me there were two goals this week: stay healthy and don't embarrass yourself out there. Making the cut was over-performing - as long as he stays healthy.

Stuff that should be considered over-performing over the weekend: staying at or below par in both rounds or firing a round better than 69.

From a fan standpoint, I won't be able to watch today, but those who are will have a blast if he rolls in a couple birdies early. He obviously has no shot, but the crowd will get into it and people will be buzzing anyway.

Something else to keep an eye on would be his World Ranking points... Pretty sure he needs a top 50 to get some. Since you get up to 40 events counting, and he has two in which he earned points, everything he plays this year will count.

Also, going forward, the fact that his short game and putting seems to be pretty much on point is critical. That's something to watch this weekend. He can compete while struggling a bit off the tee, but he has to have the short game and putting going.

You can use an authorized re-seller though. We are going through StubHub.

So true for most tournaments as well. Even going on a ProAm day is better. You can actually see the course and watch a little. During the tourney play it is 4-5 deep watching.
