Whooops meant wouldn't* be worried if he has it cleaned up in practice since it seemed widespread.

I wasn't aware of that..

Something I've been wondering is if Tiger would ever do something hokey like chipping one handed. Just thinking maybe it is something that would tarnish his image as a player. Thoughts?

It would be kinda funny if he was like, oh yeah I started chipping opposite handed and it's worked big time, or something.

Yeah but during 2012-2013 he wasn't really racking up many wins that exhibited mental toughness, he was generally building up big leads and coasting to wins on familiar courses.

The only really clutch shot I can think of during that run was the at the 2012 Memorial

Just curious - what price would you buy Tiger ever becoming #1 golfer in the world again?

According to Yahoo/Golfweek TW shot 74 @ Augusta, with 5 birdies and "several indifferent" chip shots.

If he is on his game T-G and putting, I don't think "indifferent" chipping will cause him to not play.

I think he's pretty likely to play(somewhat shocked he hasn't said, decent chance he releases a statement tomorrow IMO) tho 74 with 5 birdies isn't exactly great. That is a lot of bogeys and maybe a double. Likely a ton of failed up and downs.

He better hit the ball extremely well if he tees it up. I assume if he does, then Thursday we may see a very very conservative strategy with regards to approach shots so as not to put himself into any dicey short-sided scenarios which will likely lead to some very mediocre scoring at best.

Hope I'm wrong.

The biggest factor coming into the Masters is that HE HASN'T BEEN COMPETITIVE OR PLAYED IN ANY TOURNAMENTS IN A VERY VERY LONG TIME. He may be the GOAT but there is absolutely no precedent for him being successful based these facts alone.

What 18 hole scoring range do you have for "mediocre"?

Remember Ben Crenshaw was playing like crap leading up to his second Masters win. Not that I'm expecting anything like that from Tiger.

If you were asking me, I've never considered making a bet like this, that might not pay off for several years even if I win, so I have no idea what an appropriate price would be considering opportunity cost. I do think getting to #1 is in the realm of possibility, maybe less than 10% chance of happening and more than 1%. It's very likely as he gets into his 40s he won't play enough events to max out his potential ranking points.

Agree with BadBoy. Its like I had said 5 years ago Tiger will never win another major. Why would I take that bet as I would have to wait for Tiger to die before I could collect.

Personally I do not think it will happen with his age, quality of players, injuries and his mental status. Though you can look at a player like Stricker that fell so far and came back.

I imagine we will quickly see if he has a chance to make the cut, and if he does I imagine he has a good shot at top 10. Will be playing him in probably 1 or 2 line ups out of 6 in the DK million dollar masters tourney.
