Not trying to argue btw - I'm actually curious since the image I remember from the ads I've seen, is generally trying to portray the cool, mysterious superhuman and not particularly the caring family father.

They simply aren't televised when they do, or receive a half-paragraph of press the handful of times they do end up getting mentioned. I've seen numerous people do the same things in front of me at events I've gone to.

Because he cheated on his wife? Thousands of athletes before this - a number of whom of status at or close to Tiger's level - have confirmed done the same thing. Why do they escape hate?

He's never been linked to anything criminal, any drug or addiction problems, any abusive actions towards others, and never went off the deep end with any overly inflammatory comments.

What is awful about any of this?

And yes some of the things you mentioned to make him lack character. To me his ego also when he crashes his car after his wife is chasing him down the driveway with a 5 iron. He gets a pass on the DUI. Than has a press conference were only a select few are invited. Than blames his actions on a sex addiction.

A lot of the advertisers dropped him when the scandal broke, but that doesn't mean he got the deals in the first place because he pretended to be dad of the year. The statement I questioned was that he got the deals because he falsely pretended to be a family man.

I have no idea if all or none of those links are true or the validity of the sources, etc. He has been linked, quite literally, to all of those things. I'm not trying to prove anything. I think he's an awful human and I would never cheer or root for him. I understand he's a great golfer, but what I don't understand is how you can wear a Tiger Woods hat and hope he takes down a guy like Rory McIlroy at the Masters. I just have a really hard time cheering for huge *******s who cheat on their wives. I've told the story where I have personally seen Tiger be a HUGE DICK years ago at the Byron Nelson to a small kid for no reason other than he's a huge dick. For example, I thing Sergio is immature, cocky, and a golf brat, but I've seen him be really cool and genuine to kids. I think his Tiger assessment was pretty much right on, to be honest. Sure, if the NBC camera thing really was legit, his shot had nothing to do with Tiger pulling a wood out, but the other stuff was right on.

As for the "Jack was a dick too" stuff...well, that's not what we are talking about. Jack was always known as a family man and I've never heard allegations of him cheating on his wife, doing other hugely dick things. That's not to say he wasn't like that or that he doesn't play up the FAMILY MAN, NONE OF MY MAJORS MEAN ANYTHING LOVE MY FAMILY MORE angle, but I just don't have any real indication that he's a dick.

A good example is Jordan. I was a huge fanboy of Jordan back in the day and put inspirational quotes all over my wall and wanted to be like Mike and all that stuff. Turns out he is a gigantic *******. Screw him. I feel defrauded and am no longer a fan at all. Doesn't matter to me that he was great at basketball.

You just have trouble separating greatness and talent from the person and I would have to think that the people that think Jack is GOAT do too. I could care less what Tiger does away from the golf course. I know he isnt near as much of a dick as you think though. Most tour pros dont really think that way about him at all. But yeah dont care either way but I like watching greatness in all sports. I cant stand Lebron James but Id never let that take away from what he does on the bball court. The guy is a freak and could very well be the best ever one day. Who knows?

Quick question though that someone may know the answer to. Does Tiger have an autograph contract meaning that he can only sign so many per year? Could very well be why he ignores people at times but people are too hard on him. He is there to win the golf tournament, not to have a book signing. He acknowledges the crowd on every single hole pretty much. That should be enough

...and you're perfectly entitled to hate Tiger if you want. Just hate him for being a prick, not for baseless allegations of PEDs and statutory rape or whatever you want to make up. And don't let that hate cloud your judgement of his golf skills (like so many people seem to do)
