leo's comment reminds me of when peter kostis criticized tiger in 1999 or 2000 for never having won the same event in consecutive years (he kept moving the goalposts so tiger could never be "great"). Such comments now seem utterly ridiculous, just as leo's comment does.

How about 18-19-9 how bout 10-12 when tied for lead after 54 holes and 8-0 when in in lead alone. 8 wins when trailing after 54 Tiger? 56 top 5's 73 top 10's in majors Tiger not even close.

How about with his 2 ams he finished 2nd in US Open and had top 10's in last 3 majors as an am Tiger not close.

His first win as a pro was the US Open not the punk ass Quad Cities or whatever nothing turny tiger won.

How much more you need? First to triple slam.

I understand both sides of the Tiger-Jack argument.. One thing I'd say though, is that if Tiger doesn't get hit by a truck or something like that, I think the number he has to put up is 19. If Tiger had won 14 majors in his first 38 starts, and then died in a plane crash, I think it'd be reasonable to say he was the greatest all time.. The situation as it is, though, I think he's gotta get to 19. And his 19 will be way more impressive because he plays in a much tougher game.

I'm all in the Tiger is the GOAT camp, but I think it's a little disingenuous for Tiger supporters to start backtracking on the majors thing now that he hasn't won one in several years and 18 pro majors is very much in doubt for the first time ever. Prior to this streak it was all about the majors.
