Sorry, I tried to avoid making a thread about this but I need help.

I can't, for the life of me, find the avatar gif of Tiger Woods chipping in at 16 at Augusta. I thought I'd be able to find it in the golf forum but I've probably checked nearly 50 pages worth of threads and can't find it.

Anyone help?

Golf isn't missing it. You might be, though.

The top three players in the world ATM have a total of 8 PGA Tour wins and 1 Major between the three of them. Westwood is likely on the decline at age 38, Donald is playing his best ever and is still majorless, and McIlroy still has a lot to prove at 22. Steve Sticker is the top American at #7? He's had 11 wins which is a nice career, but he's never won a major and likely won't at age 44. Golf needs Tiger and Phil to have a good 2012.

ctyri - c'mon bro. you may not like Tiger, which is fine, but golf certainly benefits greatly if Tiger in 2012 is closer to the '05 - '07 Tiger than the '10/'11 Tiger.

Dyonysus - to be fair, there is other golf being played around the globe apart from the PGA Tour. when you add in the very competitive Euro Tour the world's Top 3 have 38 wins (and when you look at total professional wins the number is 53 wins).

Stricker is currently world #6 (DJ is #7).

edit to say: barring injury and missing a major(s), i would argue that Stricker has nearly as equal a chance to win a major in '12 than Donald.

The PGA Tour is the premier tour and always has been. Monty won the Order of Merit 8 times on the Euro Tour and has never won a regular PGA Tour event, let alone a major. There are a handful of elite Euro events which draw the top players, but week in and week out the PGA Tour is where it's at. The European Tour is for the players who can't make it at the top level. Euro Tour wins are nice, but when it comes down to comparing records they just aren't very impressive.

^^^^^

You do realize that 9 of the current top 20 (including #s 1, 2, 3 and 4) are Euro and play a very heavily loaded Euro schedule, right?

Okay solid point about the current state of Euro golf, but show me the gifs. When I think of great moments in golf none of Luke Donald's shots come to mind. The same can be said about the rest of those Euros.

Why are we not suspending for these countless useless Tiger Woods threads?

Could he have just not added it to another of the 50 Tiger Woods threads?

Apparently you haven't been watching golf. Tiger Woods is back in the winner's circle. He was 10 under on a course that was practically unplayable, major championship tough, with greens running at 14, and unpredictable gusts to 40mph. He willed in a horrible sliding 10 footer on the 72nd hole for the victory. The field was basically a who is who of what to look for in a major with golf's brightest stars and greatest talents. He is back, and this thread is a celebration. Let the healing gifs begin.

Watch it and weep! You Americans won't get the Ryder Cup back for the next ten years. ;-)
