What was the question where you had to ask the audience?

A LOCUST IS WHAT TYPE OF INSECT

A. COCKROACH
B. BEETLE
C. MOTH
D. GRASSHOPPER

Should have known it but beetle was nagging at me.

The Q I used my PAF on was

THE 1994 NOVEL "SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS" TAKES PLACE ON AN ISLAND IN WHAT US STATE

A. MAINE
B. MICHIGAN
C. NEW YORK
D. WASHINGTON

Naturally had no clue it was made into a 1999 movie of the same name. At the watching party my girlfriend gave me a VHS of the film. Ouch. For the record there was 3 PAF's I considered on this Q and all 3 knew the answer.

If he's been living off that $250k minus taxes since then that's the next story I want to hear.

Good read BO.

You're pretty good when you aren't going out of your way to call everyone a moron.

BO I have to say, that was a really well written short story. It was captivating, and provided all the details, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Writer might be your next career.

Good thing you're a pompous ass or you would have been a nervous wreck and choked on the fast fingers test.

nitbo,

Before I went to graduate school, I thought I was OK at math. Then I sat in class with Chinese students. This changed my opinion of my ability drastically. Seeing what else is out there is very humbling. Did you ever have that experience with playing against other golfers?

He knows his stuff but more importantly is a class act. Was very happy to see his successes. He won one PGA Tour event (1989 Chattanooga Classic) and I was one of the first to know as he immediately called his brother who lived next door and he came running into my apartment to tell me the news.

I respect Pelz and Penick, not so much Haney and Leadbetter because they treat so many golfers like sheep. Decent opinions of Harmon and Smith.

As far as authors, I've read every John Feinstein Golf book and enjoy those a lot.

Really cool for an odd reason. I took up the games in my 20s and would always check the newspaper to see if Stan Utely made the cut. There was zero reason ( apart from me always rooting for the underdog), that I would follow him, but I did. I did see him after awhile hit a shot on TV. I was surprised he was a skinny guy with a stash.

Glad to hear he is a good guy.

Honestly, I think this is pretty much spot on.

I've never had that experience with a Chinese golfer.

Oh sure, I can't say I've ever been in the same pairing with a golfer that is light years ahead, but after watching some PGA Tour guys, and some web.com guys for that matter, I realize just how inferior I am.

Some tallish guys with fast clubhead speed can do some amazing things IMO. Like hitting a 200 yard shot that lands as soft as a wedge from the stratosphere. Or hitting a 150 yard shot from 6 inch rough that doesn't move when landing on rock hard greens. And of course the distance guys launch it off the tee now just makes me want to drink heavily, and I don't drink.

It does impress me when guys make every single putt inside 10 feet during a tournament, that's just crazy no matter how perfect the greens are.

Never did. Don't like the taste of anything, simple as that. Tried beer a few times and just detested it. So it's not like I had issues or anything.

Just another nitty tendency I suppose.

I just distract my opponents between shots by doing long-division.

Happy to hear that you didn't get Slumdogged for doing so well on the show!

Joking aside, thanks for the write-up. Pretty awesome to be able to monetize a hobby like trivia in such a big way. Have you ever thought about doing a Reddit AMA? I think a lot of people would find your story fascinating (and I wouldn't be shocked if some Reddit sleuths found some video clips of your run).

Bo, that is some very cool stuff!! I was on Wheel of Fortune but didn't win but my mom was on and did win & my sister spun the wheel on Price is Right. (game show family) I can't imagine how good you must be at trivia knowledge. Are you still in the DFW area? I caddied back on the Nationwide tour for J.L Lewis when Tom Pernice/Stewart Cink were killing it so I might know u but if not I would love to meet you/play a round with you. I am sure I could learn a thing or two.

There's actually a lot of us in the DFW area here. Ship, westhoff, ZBHorton, Spenda, PokerOMGLOL, and a few other non-regs. We've gotten together and played a few times, not for money though because other than ship they're all pussies.
