Yes. I don't know if it's stigma or the balls not doing what they're supposed to do.

New balls react to the club and swing flawlessly (perfectly...in theory) because they're unblemished. Used balls have more imperfections, this creating imperfect aerodynamics.

So, if you're ever playing late in a round with the ball you started with, you should have an inner battle between the "pride of using one ball for 18" vs "using an un (less) blemished ball trying to shoot lower scores."

I wonder if the Taliban roll with ProV’s, or if they cheap out and buy Vice or something?

Whoa whoa whoa. Why do you have to take shots at Vice? I like those...and I'm like a 6.

Note: I'm not a Taliban.

Further Note: Pro Vs are great, but expensive as hell.

My 2 ball joined up with these 2 older guys that both had their only little golf buggies, At one of the tee's one of them started emptying his golf bag and started handing me like 6 brand new Pro V 1 X's ... I don't think I've ever played with the X's but my god they felt a bit to hard for my liking.

I'll see if I get any advantage from using them but first impressions it would be a no.

Honestly though they were the best 2 guys to play with. You'd hit your ball and they would literally go find it for me whilst I walk up the hole. Wouldn't like to play them in a match though, They seemed like probably hustlers if you'd never seen them before, can tell they have been playing for years.

I am not buying any used balls from anyone, but about 25% of the balls I use are found balls on my course. It is not that I am cheap, but some people are really lazy about looking for balls. So, if I find a Pro-V1 in ok shape or a Bridgestone 330 I will use them. Chrome soft or TPS I give to a friend. Others I don't even pick up as I must have 500 balls in a box in my basement I will never use..lol..

I wont use a found ball for men's night or in a tourney though.

Last Thursday I found 4 Pro Vs in a typical place where non members lose balls and can't find them (or don't look). It was backed up a bit and from the tee it was about a 30-40 yard walk in the woods/grass. Took me about 3 mins. Three of them looked like they had been hit once...

I am shameless and will keep and use pretty much any found ball as long as it is a top tier ball -- ProV's, TP5, Chromesofts, B330's, Z-Stars, Vice. As long as it doesn't have a big gash on the cover or is waterlogged, I'll put it in play.

I do consider Vice up on that level, performance wise I haven't found much difference between it and the others. Nothing noticeable on distance and feel around the greens I'm happy with them.

Now that I think about it though, I very rarely find Chromesofts. Pretty much all ProV's or TP5's, some Vice's and the odd Bridgestone. Corporate culture in town is a lot of companies give out ProV's or TMade's for events so always finding ones that are logo'd up.

Anything else, I'll grab and save in a bucket for the old lady. Who never loses balls. So there's also hundreds in a box in the garage too.
