Spieth won the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2009 and 2011, joining Tiger Woods as its only multiple winners.

Midway through his sophomore year at the University of Texas, Spieth turned professional in December 2012 at age 19. He partnered with Under Armour for sponsorship in January 2013.

On July 14, Spieth won the John Deere Classic in a three-way, sudden-death playoff on the fifth playoff hole against defending champion Zach Johnson and David Hearn. He became the fourth youngest PGA Tour winner and the first teenager in 82 years; last accomplished by Ralph Guldahl at the Santa Monica Open in 1931.

On September 27, 2013, Spieth was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. He ended the 2013 season 10th on the PGA Tour money list, and ranked 22nd in the world, after beginning the year 810th with no status.

Fast forward to today, and 20 year old Spieth is tied in first, going into the final day of the Masters!

This kid is the real deal and is just oozing with genuine confidence.

Agreed. What he's done so far after college is truly astounding, but he's won a whopping one tour event. One. However if he wins today that changes everything and this thread would be valid.

Thread not worthy after the collapse. Who knows he may be one of these wonder kids that does not live up to the expectations? What he has done to this point is incredible though

Collapse? What tournament were you watching? He was losing his drives on the front 9 as well. 20 year old shooting even in the final round in the final group of his first Masters isn't exactly collapsing. It's also not going out and taking it either, which is what Bubba did but collapse? Come on guy.

Collapse is strong. He just came out of the gates so strong.I thought Bubba is collapsing and he is gonna walk away from it. Turns out Bubba was very impressive with his rebound. Hey I think the kid is incredible at 20 years old. I just do not think he deserves his own appreciation thread. Hope I am wrong and he continues to compete in Majors and win. He is fun to watch and heck we need a new dominant young player on tour.

Well the kid will most likely be top 10 in the world by the end of the year, if not top 5.

Valid? Is there some sort of rule from Bobby Jones day that constitutes when we can make a thread appreciating a golfer on an Internet forum?

Finishing T2 in your first Masters is still a remarkable accomplishment, which is even more extraordinary considering his age and experience.

As far as how he handles himself, I think most of the young guns behave pretty well and it kind of digusts me. Who can I root against without feeling like a self-loathing dickhead?

Anyway I love his clubface rate of closure and the fact that he releases the pressure off his back so early.
