Ha. That's one of the 3-4 I witnessed as well. One of my buddies who loves to play, but just flat-out not good, had a hole in one at Sah-Hah-Lee.

We should get out this summer with Malice. I quit my club, so don't have the ball-and-chain discouraging me from playing other courses.

Nope. I jumped from intermediate to full membership, which was quite a jump, and was playing so much with friends who weren't member it didn't make any sense. I liked being able to jump out after work for as many holes as I wanted, but that was pretty much the only benefit.

I also got really tired of punching out from the trees.

So a guy I play with just got his 18th of his career a week ago. He has something crazy like six on one of the par 3's at our course. He is 79 years old and has been a member for 30 years. He just shot his age too.

Ace #1: 2006, Speargrass Golf Club, Carseland, Alberta. Hole 16 134 yard par 3. Little uphill so you can't see the green. Hit a 9 iron that was right at it, but didn't see it finish up. We get up to the green and my ball is nowhere to be seen. My brother thinks I went long, but I decide to check the hole and it's in there!

Ace #2: 2016, Lynx Ridge Golf Club, Calgary, Alberta. Hole 5 145 yard par 3. Plays a little downhill. Hit a 9 iron, which bounced once and rolled into the hole. I was immediately mobbed by the three other guys I was playing with.

Never made one in 40-45 year of golfing as a 5-9 handicap.

This makes me feel "so great" about my future. It's gotta happen one day. I have had about a dozen plus near misses this year already.

If you've come that close, you'll probably make one soon (how about this year)?
I was probably one of the worse looking single digit cappers out there, but I chipped and putted like a mofo, and spent most of my time making 3-4 footers for par.
Usually shot 77-82 (the wife said "why do you go play when you know what you're going to shoot"? Answer: the score is irrelevant, I just need to get out of the ******* house for a few hours and drink and gamble (lots of that) with my homies...

Just got my third hole in one yesterday out here in Phoenix at Wigwam Heritage course. Nothing too remarkable 135 yard gap wedge one bounce and right in the hole so we all could see it go in. Best part of the story is that I was two under for the round through 11, ace on 12 took me to 4 under and I was able to get to the clubhouse with a tidy three under. I think that's tied for my 4th best round ever so real nice to have an awesome round with an ace for the scorecard memory.
